Please is MRS still delisting? The following news report may indicate that MRS will be expanded into the DR's retail arm. They are reporting that there is a "cooperation" between DR and MRS which allows MRS to sell at lower prices. That will be massive if MRS remains listed.

Huge profit but terrible cash flow. The cash flow in their 2023 statement was N10trn, 85% of it was positive FX difference

I thought they were delisting and moving to NASD? I’ve seen it moving up this last week perhaps they’ve changed their minds

Na wa o. It is well.
How can human being be satisfied?

Those who are complaining about the party or OandO not paying dividends are myopic, ungrateful or just mischeivous. We had a company that is almost done and dead and the management, through their doggedness turned things around and the company, though not totally free but has a path already set for a great future and some of us are still complaining.

The first time I bought OandO was N4. I have already written the company off as bad investment but just decided to keep it since the money is not that sizeable or enticing only to wake up one day and saw 8 digits, only from OandO. from N4 to N89 then. Dividends could not have done that. Capital appreciation did it smoothly. I can have my own party by selling a few shares from my stake in OandO if I need a party badly.

As somone said, the end of the year party is not for shareholders, it is for the staff who have worked tirelessly to turn things around and the management did very well to recognise them by throwing a big party to celebrate the gigantic achievement and motivate them for future exploits.

Lastly, for my fellow shareholders, Capital Appreciation is much better than dividends payments, that is why some great US companies e.g. Google, Amazon, Nividia, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft etc are called growth stocks, they deliver capital appreciation and not just dividends even though some of them still pay but not at the expense of growth that will create capital apprecaition for their shareholders..

My brother, the executive recklessness is so sickening with these people.
I struggle to see such justification no matter how much explanation I have read about it.
I was so impressed when I read about Otedola’s reaction to that of FBN. And he is a billionaire oh.
I mean, you can still have a very good party without those wastages.
A key root cause reason Otedola was not happy with the send-off party for the outgoing MD of first bank is summarized below.
A top employee of the bank informed TheCable that Otedola was “seriously irked” when he learned that a whopping sum was spent on a send-off party for Adesola Adeduntan, the former MD of the bank who was reportedly forced to resign over alleged negligence in a N60 billion electronic fraud.
https://www.thecable.ng/the-insider-turmoil-in-first-bank-as-furious-otedola-wields-the-big-stick-after-lavish-party/?form=MG0AV3

FBN was not having an end year party for staff, but were having a lavish party with an MD allegedly linked with N60 billion fraud and who was forced out because of the financial losses to FBN and its stakeholders (Staff & Shareholders).

While Oando was celebrating a major key milestone in its history. A parry worth the celebration and creation of memories for the new and old staff of the bigger Oando.

I think it’s highly possible too, and not to mention, I think he’s already on the board and his cousin (dantata) owns the business. He can likely use the funds from the sale to focus mainly on their upstream business and allow Alhaji focus on distribution and with the way he hacked logistics in the Cement Business, he’ll hack it in the downstream. Maybe thats what the people buying know that we don’t 🤷‍♂️, volume traded was flat and then all of a sudden 1m units traded.

A 60 billion NGN e-fraud loss is HUGE! Some level of sobriety should have been displayed during the send-forth party for the former bank MD if this is true. That's part of standard corporate protocol.

Vitafoam is a stock I’m looking at for long term. Again recommended to me by my #1 source, alongside NAHCO. I think their results for last year were flat but he’s spoken to an insider and apparently they’re making good money this quarter
NFA/DYOR
ositadima1:
Dividend analysis: These appear to be the top dividend payers. Look at the dividend yield and the projected yield, assuming a 30% increase in dividend payouts. They are far below the returns from bonds and treasury bills if purchased today. I anticipate we will see corrections, as I don’t foresee prices rising significantly in the near future unless we’re surprised by a substantial dividend increase. Of course, this is purely a dividend analysis.

I’m using my Saturday night to do analysis grin

So, looking into this, the last 3 years starting from 2021, revenue has grown by at least 60% YoY. Seems they started doing something differently in 2022. Grew by 63% in 2022, 70% in 2023 and this year on annualized basis it’s set to grow by 61%. Based on their facts and figures sheet, their revenue growth for next year seems conservative, growing by 56% based on the 2024 annualized figure. Pa Emma was right, based on these 2024 they should be able to payout a dividend of N5 unless they have some serious capex plans. I arrived at conservative 6.34 EPS for FY 24 and based on the 89% payout ratio from the last two years.
EPS for 2025 is looking like it’ll be N8.50, and using a PAT margin of 20% (average of last three years). EPS comes in at a conservative 7.62 and assuming no change to the payout ratio, a N6.50 dividend. Using your PE this could easily be a stock that’s N100 in the next 12-18 months

I need to understand the core business and revenue drivers further though, what market share is like versus SAHCO, their competitor
emmaodet:
Haaaaa..........Just 5 years? that means a cagr of 45% of revenue going forward compared to 18% in previous years. How feasible is this?
then by recalculating, forecasted eps = 38.5 with a net margin of 25%, nahco price by then should be = #319 using average P/E of = 8.3.
Well, will be monitoring their quarterly report. To meet this target, a quarter report revenue should always be rising by 11%.
We will see.

UCAP is one of the best performing stocks for 2024.

Multiply the share price by 3 to get the share price pre-bonus.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Konquest:
BullBearMkt:
I try to breakdown your seamless, simple question into 2 parts for clarity.
1. Likelihood of a pullback in this market.
There is a likelihood that we may experience "a slight" pullback in the market. Looking at the NGX ASI which is being controlled by sectors indexes; for couple of months now, we can see that while some indexes are rising (e.g Oil/Gas), the other are falling (such as Industrial). Recently, there are indications of a possible market rotation: the leading sectors (Oil/Gas and Banking) seem to be pausing, while Consumer Goods and Insurance are rising, and Industrial is trying to find a demand zone. This suggests that a short-term pullback in the market is likely.

2. Can we trust ASI chart in weekly time frame?
Technically, higher timeframes like the weekly chart tend to be more reliable than lower ones, but they all work in fractals. Before you see strength or weakness on weekly, they must have existed on Daily, H4 etc. For now, ASI weekly is not showing strength but the daily is showing that if placed on Monthly/Daily chart review.

As shown on the daily chart below the ASI making higher-high and higher-low, which indicate the readiness of the market to rise, however, with other sectors "dragging feet", we might witness short-term pullback. That in any ways doesn't invalidate weekly data which is yet to show strength as provided on the weekly chart, but we can see buying pressure exerted on the weekly chart.
grin grin grin grin grin
Impressive takes on higher TF and TA.
Do you activetively engage in day trading the NGX ASI or is it purely swing trades?
