I think the attraction in Oando now is not price appreciation but the corporate action of share redistribution. If the ratios being speculated materialize, and with no price adjustment and no dilution as is the case with bonus, then you are looking at substantial gains.

Heishere:
You are thinking in the right direction. Thanks for the info. Will focus my research on Aradel then. Oando is out of the question for now for me. Bought when it was selling below N5 and sold at N70+. Don't see any value for me at current price.

Good analysis, thanks. People need to understand that a business' margins can tell a lot about its long-term prospects. Just see the typical gross margins of a few companies that we've discussed recently:

MTN: 80%
Presco: 72%
DangCem: 40%, but recently falling
VitaFoam: 35%
Chams: 20% grin

Hips numbers don't lie.
It is determined by the sector. Some sectors have low margin but high revenue, while some have high margin but low revenue.

It is always better to use gross profit/ total asset if you can get 20% and above the company has competitive advantage

Chams supplier is determined to scatter any prediction of full bid cheesy

Do you want to play it super safe, or are you willing to allocate a portion of your money to a very safe bet? The banking sector might be the way to go, leveraging the power of an index. Yes, something similar to the index funds you often hear about. You don’t need any special skills—just trust in Nigeria.

Here’s why: consider banking stocks ['FCMB', 'STANBIC', 'ACCESSCORP', 'FBNH', 'NPFMCRFBK', 'UNITYBNK', 'JAIZBANK', 'WEMABANK', 'ETI', 'FIDELITYBK', 'UBA', 'ZENITHBANK', 'GTCO']. If you had invested equal amounts in January and rebalanced in December to take profits, your returns (excluding dividends) would look like this:

2020: 66.5%

2021: -1.2%

2022: 41.2%

2023: 100.1%

2024: 26.5%

This performance is based purely on price appreciation. 2025 might not be any different. Simply give equal weight to these stocks, ignore market fluctuations throughout the year, and check back on December 27 to collect your profits. That’s it—a straightforward, no-fuss strategy.

We still have 40 minutes to go.
Almost 50m units traded.
Fight ongoing in favour of buyers.
The money coming in will end this fight at 2.17 today.

The problem is that buyers are bidding at lower price and the supplier seems to have unlimited quantity.

Oando is heading towards the ₦50 range. This is most likely going to be the trading range until something positive comes the Oando way.

It's interesting. I just decided to monitor the movement today. There were no bulk offers until recently.

I currently have no unit in my portfolio.

What is the Investment case/ Financial analysis for Chams?. I like the liquidity and volume traded of the stock but i've seen nothing special in the financials yet, what am I missing?

The buyer has the money to clear all but they want to do it gradually until the seller is exhausted.

The total offers remaining is less than 6m units.I think the buyer has fought a good fight today and seller will be arrested at the end.

Do you think insurance will be close to 100% and chams will be watching them?

We were in the stock even at 20kobo when the revenues were less than N2B and profit negative.

All things being equal,we are about to see the Q4 result for 2024

You're not overlooking anything; someone is heavily invested in the stock and must promote it aggressively to secure a reasonable profit on their exit.

Safe bet .its needed
Sometimes we just need a Treasury bill kind of company in stocks; Either a bid(price appreciation) goes through or I get back my capital.. grin
No stress. As you rightly put -safe bet.
Though nothing can be absolutely absolute in Stock biz. grin

No buyers for premium Seplat, maybe only for a few days.

Up on LSE - still cheaper on LSE with exchange rate considerations.

I took out the poor Q2 performance which was due to FX losses and then annualised the earning using the other three quarters.

I think what you are missing in your analysis is that you're looking at it on a full year basis. The Q2 loss was bad. Look at it on a quarter on quarter basis The earnings per share in the last two quarters individually are almost the same as the full year EPS in the previous financial year
emmaodet:
How did you calculate the normalized eps to be #7?
I think the PE will be high now since EPS has dropped alot.
Also consider the Non-Controlling interest of about 60%

UNIVINSURE seems to be on the run and being chased by evil spirits. Maybe the purported recapitalization or something else that is not apparent yet.

Not related but the game is for those who knows it.When insurance companies have gone high in price, the mass move will be in any undervalued asset.

The buyers got it right on chams today and now is the time
