Well he used to buy shares for us , i.e my siblings and mum, when we were kids( the days of share certificates and dividends being sent as cheques to post office boxes). My dad was retired in 2010 but he was still able to send me and my siblings to very good institutions for our undergrad years with his investments. Out of all of us my elder sister is the one that is more enlightened and active in the market partly due to her educational background in finance. To answer your question only two out of the rest of the kids like to discuss investment with him. The shares he got for me was what I used to sponsor myself abroad for my masters (He told me that I should pay for my masters myself that during his time his parents only sent him to secondary school and that he has fulfilled his duty by sending me to Uni for undergrad ) and for that I am very grateful because it was the way he passed on responsibility of the investments to me. The last statement and the fact that I kept on getting dividends every year from GTB that were quite reasonable is what piqued my interest in the capital market. In trying to be more informed a google search made me stumble on this page. I usually ask him what he thinks about some of the discussions here and we converse about it. ojesymsym: |

My learned Ogas I am trying to sell my CWG shares with TROVE, less than N300k, for over a week, The feedback i got was "There are no bids for CWG at the exchange." Is this a fact or is there something i am missing. They sent this screenshot to me

megawealth01:Pls Mega, when did I discuss chams with you? You must be overweight on chams . But it's full bid is neither a vindication of its faithfuls nor the voiding of the opinion of its sceptics. There is a certain bullish, perhaps new year euphoria blowing over low priced stocks. And would chams be left behind when that tide is lifting other boats, including worse than chams? |

SAK:Oando announced a share bonus but they didn't realise how complex it is to fulfil such promise. They are in a delima at the moment... They are still figuring out how they can work around the share redistribution or cash bonus. |

Sunrisepebble:Thanks. updated with: Tashere Units: Very few numbers of shares bought or left unsold. Amount depends on the person. Such shares are either bought or left in the portfolio to “have a foot in the door”, e.g. so as not to have to process e-dividend all over again or just to see how the stock will perform. |

My observations The way sound insurance companies are hitting 2 digits make me believe the small and supporters group will eventually touch #5 too. if this movement continues on sound insurance stocks |

bastardson:I may not be able to say exactly how long it would take for IB to turn around. But based on historical facts, its industry performance and potentials and being a member of a global brand (AB InBev), the world's largest brewer, I think it as very good prospects in the future or long term (you are the one that can determine how ''long'' the long term you are willing to invest and wait). |

Streetinvestor2:As it stands now, those in the insurance should pay attention on their stock(s) Those in chams should pay attention on their stock. Selling insurance to buy chams is a missed goal and selling chams to buy insurance is village people on call. Other penny stocks are not also left behind. Don't be greedy to jump from this to that and from that to this. This is a time to calm down and make good money in that or those companies you bought their shares. There is strong bull through out January. |

designking:Oando has about 268,000 shareholders. It would take the Registrars some weeks to complete the assignment, and get NGX/SEC clearance. Just like what happens after a rights or bonus issue Just be patient, Oando will mature soon for every shareholder to enjoy the redistribution. |

When you look at the number of shares traded in the last 3 months for a stock of 4.7B shares, you are lucky to be here and lucky to be in for a very long bull

Locotrader:I appreciate and respect your focus and killer instincts on CCHAMS! When one is cock sure about a specific stocks, you go for it full throttle. Some believe in spreading their investments, while some believe in narrowing doing to a sure best stocks and going all out to maximize the gains, like you have done. Wish you and all the best of luck! |

brotherly:How will you sell a stock on demand to buy another stock on demand? It is a missed called which no one will pick. Stocks on full bids have destinations |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ojeysky(m): 2:22pm On Jan 03, 2025 |
brotherly:To me, It simply means take profit when it's green and don't plunge it all back into similar stock. You see all those stocks rising together, don't plunge it all back into them if you do then there was no need selling in the first place. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by brotherly: 2:27pm On Jan 03, 2025 |
Locotrader:well , you can if the first stock has done quite some mileage . Stocks with significant prior gains (like Prestige at 200%) might have less potential upside compared to newer companies (like CHAMS) in their early stages. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 2:29pm On Jan 03, 2025 |
mikeapollo:Anyone who wants to eat a frog should look for a big one so when they call you a frog eater ,you will be able to answer. Selling prestige and consolidated Hallmark for CHAMS has a reason even though all are money spinning stocks |
