Streetinvestor2:Unlike UCAP where you don't make monthly payments, the supposed monthly payments can be invested in Money Market funds and earn over 20% pending the time the loan will be paid in 6 months time |

Locotrader:Yes. It's relatively cheaper. I'm a trader in the market though. Not an investor. I mean I get c. 2000 X-Alert Notifications monthly. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:20pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:If it was even 5% it would have been much better. It's 7%. I use a loan amount of N5m in my analogy. It costs 350k monthly from Renmoney, it costs 122,500 from Ucee. So Ucee is cheaper by about 230k. However since I have to now move my portfolio to UCAP, my broker fees will become N1m compared to the current 500k at MCSE. |

Streetinvestor2:No be for us nah |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:23pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:Exactly, we all have different risk levels, although I grew mine with time sha. There was a time when I would keep money in NTB at 18% p.a. The MFB I use though aren't that dramatic, the only call I ever get from them is call to top up. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 7:26pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
awesomeJ:Did you consider the fact that you are not expected to pay Ucee interest every month. So that122k monthly interest payments can be invested in a Money Market fund till the loan matures. How many times will you trade the N5 million in a month, you are really working for the stockbroker |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 7:27pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
awesomeJ:I guess is not on ngx you play the game with that cost of fund. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:31pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:True the 122k will still be useful, but that 500k fee is still the drag. Huge volumes don't imply working for brokers. I trade 100m and make 1.5% while my brokers make 0.5%. Someone else claims he doesn't want to work for brokers, so he trades just N20m, loses 1% on the position, brokers still make their 0.5% Who is really working for brokers here? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 7:34pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
awesomeJ:You really need to give a breakdown of a typical buy and sell position before one actually think he is making a profit |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:37pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:NGX. Apart from April 2024, I make more than 7% each month. So I'm good. Ultimately though, I want to get it down to 5%, then for me, it will be a sort of asset management, where I get clients' funds indirectly through banks. I've always wanted to own a fund that pays 5% guaranteed monthly, this way, I don't have to canvass for funds, and I can scale gradually. Like what happens when I start doing N1bn or N10bn in trades monthly? Can I still make 1 to 1.5%? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:39pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:When you add all other fees, it's over N1m monthly. I think we both know that whoever pays this much in fees know what they're doing otherwise na straight to village 😁😁 |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 7:40pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
awesomeJ:On a loan of N5 million, how do you pay the principal apart from the monthly interest of 7% |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 7:44pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:Do you mean the payment schedule or the means to repay? If the former? It repaid weekly on reducing balance, again Ucee outshines them here. If the latter, I never count loans as my asset, it's the banks money. So long I make over 350k on it every month, I split the profit between us, and return the due portions of the principal. |

Okay, last comment on this before I begin charge you tuition... You're struggling because you're dismissing this real vs nominal GDP thing as "theories" or "jargon." It's not. Na de koko be dat. Let's assume cocoa exported from Naija sells for $10k per ton in both 2023 and 2024. Let's further assume 1 USD was N1,000 in 2023 but N2,000 in 2024, due to devaluation. 2023: Exported 10 tons @$10k = $100k Nominal GDP contribution = $100k*1000 = N100 million 2024: Exported the same 10 tons @$10k = $100k Nominal GDP contribution = $100k*2000 = N200 million So nominal GDP is showing a massive 100% GDP growth from N100m to 200m. Yippee! But we all know actual output hasn't increased. Na the same 10 tons of cocoa exported in both years, and the same price per ton. So real GDP growth is zero. Odo. Nada. Bottom line: When someone tells you about GDP, ask them which GDP they're talking about. awesomeJ: |

emmaodet:I will advise you join a reputable cooperative, deposit some funds and collect at least x3 of your deposit as loan at 7% per annum interest at most. The interest you guys are paying on these loans is killing man. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 8:05pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Heishere:Can cooperative give him up to N100 million, do you consider the bureaucracy of cooperative as per being unable to give out loans because they have given out loans compared to this one whereby your account with be funded between 48 hours to 72 hours after application. |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmaodet: 8:07pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
Heishere:I am in a cooperative, but it is not as flexible as ucee loan. Firstly, they don't have the loan capacity i will need. Monthly paying back is chocking unlike bullet payment after 6 months with Ucee allowing me to invest it better. They require sometimes guarantors or surety unlike Ucee that requires no collateral or guarantors You can't rollover cooperative money without leading to embarrassment or disgrace while you can rollover and payback Ucee for like 3 years |

zendi:Don't see this happening in Nigeria anytime soon. The risks currently far outweigh the benefits. From the way it is setup traffic is first sent and processed on Starlink base in the US before being forwarded to the telcos. Not only will there be a lag time, there will be data privacy issues and loss of signal during bad weather conditions. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Heishere: 8:19pm On Jan 04, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:Sure. Depending on certain conditions and the size of the cooperative. The draw back is time of processing for such amount. But with the amount he borrowed from UCAP it is possible within that timeline. |

emmaodet:I get your point. For me I prefer it than these high interest loans. I can't pay that much on interest. Best of luck to you though. |

HesInMe:Tution? I'm sure if anyone has learned from the other here, you're the learner. Is GDP a measure of the quantity of goods produced or a measure of the value?. Get your points to be coherent na, you don't have to comment if you're not knowledgeable about something. You yourself gave an analogy that shows the value has increased from N100m to N200m but you claim since the quantity didn't increase from 10,000 tonnes then no GDP growth. Come on na, no be value be GDP again, have they changed the definition to quantity? As long as you understand that the value should be showing N200m from the old N100m, you've gotten my point. What you should explain if you have an answer is why NBS is showing the value as N110m. |

Heishere:I am not bothered about interest rates or stockbrokers commissions when I am making over 20% per annum using other people's money Cooperative also involves making monthly payments. Cooperative also considers your salaries, there are people making twice, thrice and above of their salaries from their Investment income |
