I have an issue with my es 350. I was traveling on normal mode and there was no issues but when I switched to sport mode, my gear oil spilled on my engine and saw smoke on my exhaust pipE. I was quick to notice it so i stopped the car for a while to cool off.

Continued driving on normal mode and i didn’t notice any spillage again. Figured i will have to top up the gear oil.

What could be the issues?

No need to fear. Did u say u saw smoke wt your exhaust. Well dont be dumb,u cant see smoke from your exhaust firstly its the muffler fool. The smoke u saw,shows that the engine don sapa,e don dey smoke,and u see that gear. Prepare to buy new one or forget. Your ES don sapa. Hahahahahaha

I was able to still drive the car to my destination. Checked the color of the oil, confirmed that it was the gear oil. So far, I hvnt seen any leakage and the car is working fine.

I m just planning to buy another gear oil and top it up. Hopefully the gearbox is still okay.

Is there any error code when you scan? If no, you may need a zero point calibration on the vehicle.

it idles well. I hope it's a vacuum leak cos while changing my knock sensor, the mechanic mentioned the pipe that connects to the air filter has a cut

the culprit was the MAP sensor. All fixed now.

Lexus do not use MAP sensor. They employ the use of MAF sensors. Glad you found solutions to the challenge. If you replaced the MAF sensor, pls replace ethe engine air intake filter. It most likely had been clogged with dust and that would be the most likely reason you had a MAF sensor failure.

Then when I am driving on high speed the yellow check light begins to blink and the car begins to idle roughly while driving.

The electrician diagnosed and the problem was coming from cylinder 4.

He interchanged the coil on cylinder 4 with that of another cylinder, fixed a new plug and serviced the nozzle but issue persisted when we test drive on high speed(same cylinder 4).

Then he say the next step is to check the brain box that likely the IC of cylinder 4 in the brainbox is bad.

So we will be testing out with another brainbox tomorrow.

Pls any suggestion regarding this.

Will the issue be most likely from the brainbox ?

Yes it possible the ecu is bad tho. Put another ecu and test.

It's not the ECU, if you changed the coil and the plug and the misfire persists on the same cylinder, before got touching your ECU, check the injector for the cylinder, if injector is fine, do compression test on the cylinder. If it doesn't have compression, the the cylinder walls, rings or valves have an issue.

We tested with another ECU problem persisted.

The injector was serviced also.

You have to go to a certified workshop that has pressure gauge.

Skip 06, they were prone to transmission issues. These issues were corrected from 2007 models upwards.
