Those buying japaul, chams, deap, insurance and all these stocks being promoted here hope you know what you are doing? Keep following business men that wants to use you to cash out.

A law firm (THE LAWSMITH - BARRISTER AND SOLICITOR) wrote a letter to Oando yesterday and copied SEC/NGX. Below is the extract and demands:

You will also recall that shareholders were told that Oando Plc could not pay dividends for a straight 10th year running due to the losses suffered in the past years. however, our Clients were disheartened to learn a few days later that Oando Plc held a very lavish and clearly extravagant End-of-year party on 19th December 2024 which featured Burna Boy. Wi2k,'d. Davido, Omah Lay among other music stars to commemorate and mark the 30th Anniversary of your Ocean & Oil Group allegedly at the cost of N7.425biIlion. Our Clients find this expense outrageous and unjustified considering the 31% reduction in the Company's Profit in its Q3 2024 financials and the lack of dividends to minority shareholders since 2013 even though your management staff and Board members have consistently received remuneration without fail over the same period.

Our Clients are further unhappy about how the interests of your Ocean & Oil group have consistently been promoted over and above Oando Plc as exhibited in the 2023 Annual Report in which you attempted revisionism to make Oando Plc look like its story began in 1994 when Ocean & Oil was founded. It must be made clear that Oando Plc and Ocean & Oil Group are distinct and separate. They are not the same entity!

As such, we have our Clients' instructions to make the following demands:

As such, we have our Clients' instructions to make the following demands:
1. An immediate publication of the details of the Companies owing Oando P/c, the sums involved. the exact number of shares involved and proposed ratio of distribution. the relationship between those companies and Oando Directors:
2. An immediate publication ofthe cessation ofyour "Oando Co Private "pet project and fi/ing/service ofa Notice of Discontinuance to this effect.
3. A total refund of the sum spent on the extravagant End-of-year party on December 2024 by Ocean Oil Group to Oando P/c.

Good if true; let's wait and see Oando/Wale's response to this letter.

Happy 2025 to you.
It seems you have been very quiet on Oando for sometime now, especially since the release of the Q3 2024 results.
Please don't hesitate to sound your usual note of warning (''be wise'') whenever you see, feel or hear anything fishy or cocky about any stocks, including Oando.
It helps and reminds us to double-check a few things!
I wish you all the best

Please i need advice. I currently don’t have the fund for start stock investing but instead of just waiting I have decided to set a small sum I can manage monthly and use it to buy “NSE-30” monthly. It would be a monthly long term investment.

NSE-30, because I don’t want to do too much monitoring.

I plan for it (monthly buying of NSE-30) to run in perpetuity for years.

what is your opinion on this?

Omooloriredade:
It depends on your investment goal. What kind of stock market player are you?

In my opinion, Seplat (the company) is one of the best managed companies on the NGX. They seem to have a culture of corporate excellence.

Sound management - Yes
Consistent positive financial performance - Yes
Consistent dividend income - Yes
Growth - Yes

What then is my answer to your question, YES if you are an INVESTOR with a bias for dividend income and gradual growth.

NO, if you are like me who is only after capital growth on the NGX in the short term.

Why? In my opinion, Seplat (the stock) is not favoured by the NGX Price movement framework. A minimum of 100,000 units in a single trade is required to move the price. 100,000 x N5,000 = N500,000,000. How many times do we see this kind of trade? I am more likely to multibag on other stocks than in Seplat (recall my investor profile?)

Seplat no vex. My loyalty is to my portfolio.

Disclaimer - All in my opinion.

I still don’t know why they have refused to split the stock though.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Sunrisepebble: 10:56am On Jan 08, 2025
If you are buying now you are likely going to be someone’s exit liquidity considering that the smart and wealthy investors are buying on the LSE presently and then coming to sell on NGX where it’s more expensive

bastardson:
Does it make sense investing in SEPLAT presently?

The stock price feels super high already.

Any stock you sell now,you can't buy at same entry price again. Its better you don't sell. The pullback is a minor one.Dont panic

Market has more upside.Asi will rise to 120k before expecting bears.

All these will happen within the first half of the year 2025.

Take note.
