why was she expecting free things?

she saw "drugs", and she went ahead to pay N35,000 because she wan collect free 200 pounds and iPhone.

you have never met a man physically and you want to collect free gifts just like that. is that not being fraudulent?

her greed got the better of her
Well, that's Naija mindset as long as someone is living in UK, US, etc. People don't understand finance is a challenge everywhere

You did it in your own little way, did you ever steal from your mothers pot? Did you ever inflate the price of school materials or fees or did you also try to outsmart someone ypu had a dealing with? No matter how small it is, you did thr exact thing like that giy but onna lower dimension.
Not same thing AT ALL. One is opportunistic and does not impact the victim much. The other is laying elaborate plans with several accomplices to dupe someone of life savings - something you know would ruin their lives or even lead to suicide

A young lady has shared her unfortunate experience of being scammed by someone she met on Tinder. The story highlights how trust and excitement can be manipulated by online predators.

It all started in 2021 when she matched with a man named Jude on Tinder. Their conversations were great, and they quickly transitioned to chatting on WhatsApp. Jude claimed he was based in the UK and mentioned he would be visiting Nigeria for Christmas. He even offered to bring her gifts and asked what she would like. She requested a bag and a dress, and Jude promised to deliver.

A few days later, he told her he had already shipped the items, even sending her a tracking link. To her surprise, the package seemed much more elaborate than she expected. Along with the bag and dress, the tracking information showed an iPhone 11 Pro Max, shoes, perfume, chocolates, and more. Jude explained that the package had been shipped to Abuja instead of Lagos, so she needed to arrange home delivery herself.

She called the courier service and opted for delivery by road, paying ₦12,500. However, things quickly became suspicious. The courier called back, claiming the package couldn't pass through the scanner due to its contents. Jude then revealed that he had placed £200 in cash in the package for her expenses—but also included some "drugs." Alarmed but still trusting him, she paid an additional ₦35,000 to "settle" the situation.

The next day, a supposed delivery rider contacted her, saying he was on his way with her package. Hours passed, and when she called him, he claimed the police had stopped him, searched the package, and confiscated it after finding drugs. The rider demanded more money to retrieve the package, claiming it was a federal crime.

At this point, the lady became suspicious. She asked for the officer's number and called, but the person on the line demanded ₦250,000 to release the package. Realizing the absurdity of the situation, she reached out to Jude—only to find that he had blocked her.

Reflecting on the incident, she described how the scam unraveled: "This idiot blocked me, and that was when it hit me—I had been scammed!"

Her story serves as a cautionary tale about being cautious with online relationships and transactions. Please, let’s all be careful out thereof.

Re: Lady Scammed By A Guy She Met On Tinder (Photos, Video) by Flows001(m): 6:37pm On Jan 11, 2025
Exactly the same thing one idiot tried doing to my sister, but thank God I was around when he made that convincing move and sent the 100% believable shipping details..

My Sis had already fallen for the scam and was already making arrangements to pay for the delivery of her "gift items", but I became skeptical after a careful analysis of the entire situation, I had to wake her back to reality, even though she defended the scammer for just being her very nice and caring online friend she had been chatting with for months.

I collected her phone and began communicating with the fool. He became uncomfortable with the sudden chatting style, and when he realised that the person chatting didnt seem to be the initial lady he had already succeeded to convince, he became aggressive and that was when I made sure i insulted his generation and life, before he eventually blocked her..

It was tooooo believable, if not that I happen to be that kind of person who doesn't believe in free things, i would have supported my sister, so she could give me some of the gift items grin

We all just need to be careful, scammers keep updating their strategy everyday..

No mind am. See her smiling like mumu and even trying to claim moral superiority, when in fact she's no different from her scammer boyfriend.

Any sensible person on hearing drugs involvement would have immediately backed out, but her greed no let am see road. Nonsense

Like seriously. It's the drugs part that really got me and says a lot about her morals.

To be brutally honest, I see not just greed here but coded criminal with a pretty face who will do anything and everything for $$.
