Hello Nairanders , am in severe pain because my wedding was called off, because both Families are against the union, am devastated, i don't know what to do, how to start where to start... You don't expect me to feel pity for you without a complete story. What made both families disapprove of it? I heard of a wedding that was called off due to domestic violence. But the man won't come out to give the reason for canceling the marriage. Rather he will say "my in-laws called off my marriage" bla bla bla. So until I hear the complete story, I feel no pity for you.
What do I even know sef aside enlightening my fellow men nationwide with the good news

I don't pity you here. In fact, I believe that you are not being honest here. I believe so because planning a wedding is not the first step to getting married. There are other marriage rites that precede a wedding plan. Did both parents approve of the first marriage rites and suddenly turn against the planned marriage because of the planned wedding? It is either you wanted to start the marriage by attempting to do wedding first and you made the attempt without the consent of both parents or both parents knew about the marriage plan and have been kicking against it but you decided to allow your stupidity to take you far.

Blame yourself for not getting the families' approval for the relationship before going to the extent of planning a wedding.

If you want to obey parents in your marriage, obey them from the beginning, get their permission to start the relationship in the first place. Do not go halfway independently and turn around to dance to their tunes.

If you know that your parents can't decide for you whom you should marry, you can find a partner, plan a wedding with the person and proceed with the marriage even if your parents are not in support of the marriage.

Every choice has a consequence. Choose one and face its consequence. Don't try to do A and get B as your result.
