Recently Usman danfodio university Sokoto just celebrated it's first kidney transplant...
A university that started it's medical school in 1983 or so..
Equipped to standard from 2013 upwards till in 2025 they achieved a dream.

FMC Owerri has just converted to FUTH less than 3yrs ago.. Due to the upgraded facilities, the doctors just succeeded in using IVF treatment for the first time few months ago.

In both cases, the brains at the universities and clinics are there but no facilities or funded research.
Na to dey train Doctors who japa and do wonders outside naija.
But themselves don't have the facilities, spread and funded research to perform these break through here and on time.

(Kpele for the unrelated thread epistle 🙄)

Is it that complicated.
Out of xyz units, distribute x and sell yz and put proceeds into balance sheet
Lol. grin
It does not work that way. The shares are already approved to be shared amongst shareholders, hence the company cannot sell and keep the money.

God bless my dear

A bit more clearer to me now.
emmasoft:
Though I don't use meritrade, I use investment one and I know most of the stockbroking apps have similar configuration

Market price - This option means you buy at the prevailing offer price. In most cases picking this option will make you buy at the highest price compare to other bidders. This option is best used when a stock is tending towards full bid otherwise it's a big disadvantage especially for a market tending towards full offer.

Price Limit gives investors/traders option of bidding a price within +/-10% of the opening price of a stock. In this case, you determine the price you wish to buy or sell a stock.

However, you can't bid lower than 10% or higher than 10% of the opening price of a stock. The advantage here is obvious you buy at your own price. Hence you sometimes read on this thread of folks saying I'm waiting at my junction to enter a stock They can actually wait sometimes by placing a bid at a price limit . The disadvantage is that you may miss out of stock that is having a good rally because while waiting at a particular price, the stock may keep rising in price and gone beyond your acceptable price.

Good for the day or any number of days is instructing the system to keep your bid on a stock for such and such number of days.
From your example: Good for the day means your bid is valid for just that day ie if no deal your money returns back to your trading account
while good for 7 days means keep my bid valid for 7 days or any number of days you picked or the system allows.

I hope this help.

Well, probably true with UKs current health care crisis but its basically an admin/population Problem not poor treatment or lack of equipment or maintenance.
And their destination is probably LAGOS.. That's all.
A stretch would be National Hospital Abuja or some military hospitals.
most na referral things.
Yes, some are coming from outside to attend clinics in Nigeria but not in the scale of what we can call trooping.
Two major factors are responsible for this, you get your appointment on time and it is cheaper.
But believe you me, this is mostly happening in some selected/elite private hospitals.
The government run hospitals can't compete in that space.

Not releasing cuz sale is in piece meal and on a daily I suppose.
I believe until they aggregate it to a substantial quantity to avoid unnecessary periodic flooding of notifications on NGx
(like Airtel).

On a lighter note

I no read the story. But it could be related to some Nigerians coming to attend dental clinic in Nigeria as there are some advantages for doing so. Or like that CNN anchor story.

Former CNN anchor Isha Sesay, of Sierra Leonean descent, brought her mother to Nigeria for medical treatment. She praised the Nigerian medical staff for their exceptional care, noting that her mother was admitted to Lagoon Hospital in Apapa, where she spent three months in the Intensive Care Unit.

Stuff like this here and there.
True.. No doubt
but here and there isnt in their numbers.

US, UK Patients Now Seek Medical Care In Nigeria - Minister Of Health, Pate

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/02/us-uk-patients-now-seek-medical-care-in-nigeria-fg/

Will this news push pharma stocks?
It’s been happening quietly for sometime and it will get more pronounced. The process of accessing healthcare and getting well in most of these places is too slow. if the patient is stable, it not an emergency so you wait endlessly.
If Nigeria was more strategic and will leverage on her strength, it would have been an attractive destination for medical tourism. If you have been at the hospital some of these countries, you go just know say na wash, na just big buildings with plenty equipments and human beings as nurses.
To your question, I don’t see this impacting on the pharmaceutical companies financially in the short term though. Everybody Dey fear our drugs and the Indian variant ma get him own wahala.

And you don't reckon Lagos and Abuja to be part of Nigeria?

I think we should resist this urge of discrediting anything that has to do wth our country.

Congratulations. Please, keep it to yourself. I don't want to be tempted on Monkey Hunting this year. I want to discover myself where I put my money. I don't need the expo. 😁

If you can make it simple and still be making good money is what is important. My street application has given me more money in the business. I check FA in some stocks to relax my mind.I did not check FA in oando and ucap which has returned more appreciation in my portfolio. I wish I had bought more at 90kobo ucap and less than #10 for oando.I bought okumu at #50 without FA because I saw what palm oil was doing on the street. Thr are sectors in nigeria presently you don't really need too much FA or TA to be involved if you have 5yrs and above in mind. Power,IT and practical agriculture not digital ones.
This is my opinion and I have target of just 5 more yrs to retire from active income.
UCAP rushing up. Now at N22.95

Seems some people have seen the result ahead of us, and are loading up. Should I buy UCAP now?

OK. If you say so..

ETRANZACT MD HARPS ON ENHANCED COLLABORATION IN DIGITAL PAYMENT

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, eTranzact International, Niyi Toluwalope, has emphasised urgent need for collaboration to boost the inefficiency of e-payment system. In a statement, Toluwalope made this call during the Annual Conference of CeBIH (Committee of e-Business Industry Heads), with the theme, “Payment system 2030: Navigating contemporary issues in driving future growth,” held in Lagos. Toluwalope underscored that collaboration can drive innovation and growth, especially as the consumer landscape evolves towards a younger demographic. He said, “So what we see in the future is the situation where things are no longer a silo, we have a lot of efficiencies based on interconnected systems people leverage on. “Nobody is duplicating the roles; We are not reinventing the wheels. You can leverage what has been established already and build on that. For me, I think that is the future; That is what we need to adopt, and that is how to grow.” Toluwalope further stressed that Nigeria leads in population but ranks lower in bank and payment penetration compared to South Africa and Kenya. He emphasised that key factors driving growth include active regulatory engagement and innovative FinTech solutions, citing that inadequate infrastructure and compliance issues remain critical hurdles.
