I know there are legitimate agents that process travel japa very well but I wonder why people depend on them to travel knowing that it will cost them so much more and that is why they fall into scam.

I have traveled so many countries without any agent because every information you need is always available online in the countries official websites.

Traveling overseas is not as difficult as people see it but your intention of traveling and providing all the necessary documents and requirements is all that is needed.

If you wish to japa do your research to the country you want to go, find out what is needed, get it and apply yourself then you will see how easy it is. You will even spend less and get your visa without stories.

Just my kind opinion for those who intend to japa this 2025 and remember that the purpose of your japa is what matters most so you must be sincere and when you get there with a legitimate visa you can now find means to extend your stay and become a citizen through a legit process as well.

I understand that alot but what is the point of doing that when at the end you are guaranteed to become an illegal immigrant or fall for scam. If you search for what is required and you can't meet that why not try other places you can meet the requirements. The money you will end up paying an agent for fake stuffs will get you somewhere

For example, if you want to apply for a postgraduate admission, you'd need motivation letter, diversity essay (in some schools in the US), etc. Most people don't have the patience to put their brains to work. They rather outsource to agent and pay them.

And at the end of the day, they tend to get a fake admission letter, fake visa, being duped, etc.

However, most of the information you need on travel process is online. You don't need anybody.

Many of them don't have passport because they know they can't afford to travel or they don't don't meet up with the requirements to travel. An agent with no idea of what the inside of an Embassy is, will be "packaging" visa for supposed educated people. Crazy!

Nigerians deserves the leaders ruling them.

They don't know that they could be scammed out of money and/or banned from a country, or they want to travel fully aware that they'll be there illegally.

Different reasons

Time: Some people truly do not have the luxury of time to do all the needed research due to various limiting factors i.e family, business, work etc. These are genuine people seeking genuine help who sometimes fall victim to unscrupulous agents.

Magic seekers: This set of people prefer to seek an agent since they do not actually meet the standard set requirements, they use agents who will conjure all forms of documents, stories and what have you.

Stress: Some have the time, the money but just find it too stressful to do all of the search, research, writing etc, so they simply contact an agent, pay to save stress and by extension, time.

But the first step to traveling is by using a simple Google search to find the best fit for school, course, country, region and specific locations. Any other route is a Google search away, all you need do is type and Nairaland has an avalanche of inexhaustible resources.

All they need is to know how to speak queen's English and desperate Nigerians who want to travel would trust them with their money.

For me if I'm to use an agent, it would just be to secure a closer appointment date. Nothing more.
