A man has revealed that he stopped attending his church after the pastor asked members to contribute money to buy a car for his wife.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man explained that he left the church after the pastor, who already owned five cars, told the congregation that his wife, “Mummy,” did not have a car and urged them to donate towards getting her one

He wrote: “I left my former church the day my pastor with five cars told us, ‘Mummy does not have her own car. Let’s get her one.’ I knew I was in the wrong place.”

Though he did not disclose the church’s name, his revelation sparked reactions online, with many social media users flooding the comment section to share their thoughts.

Your story is believable, but any pastor that is rich & crazy enough to own 5cars will never ask members to buy a 6th car for the wife.
There are many ways churches raise funds. At worst he will take money from such funds, not that he will specifically come & ask members to buy a 6th car.

Yes, there are many ridiculous stories about pastors but this one makes no sense to me.

Alaye, if anyone asks you for tithe and compulsory offering in Islam, that’s anti Islamic, if anyone tell you that you’re gonna kill something to appease God, it’s anti Islamic, if anyone tells you to do something compulsorily without it coming freely from your freewill, that’s anti Islamic.

Yes, the reason why Sharia Law is a big deal is that the government into funding the Islamic course and hence the pockets of your brand scammers-in-the-lords. Zakat alone does not fund your imams. Rather, money from politicians and warlords in the local do.
