Many times. Poor salary, a location I didn't want to relocate to and I do not like the managing staff of the organization. These are the reasons I have rejected offers in the past.

The HR much younger was shouting at me because I refused the salary offer, omo I smell toxicity. I just said no.
Another one the location was prone to high insecurity.

The other one is funny, they said on acceptance of offer, I will travel with the director to his home town and spend two weeks with him. I say if na corporate OS work I apply for.

Yes, at a financial services and stockbroking company. How can I resume work at 7am and work till 7pm? And I stay far away.

We gave them top speed.

Yes, Oceanic bank still dey exist. They are inside Ecobank.

The pay offer not acceptable. It has to be more than the previous job. Anything less is no-no.

Yes, it was an offer to work abroad but before i accepted i got a better one here in Nigeria. The tax and cost of living abroad was going to wipe out the earnings at the time. I saved more working and living in Nigeria.

I got a job offer and got my visa approval so I gave up the job and relocated to USA, no regret so far

Just made me recall when a competitor wanted to poach me, they made their offer and the thing that didn't sit well with me, was that they did not have a pension plan for staffs. After asking if this was going to be done in the immediate future, I know I had to be careful and do further diligence before accepting the offer. I went on LinkedIn and found a former staff and sent him a message, asking about work culture, mangt style and office politics, total feedback I got was not to bother accepting the offer. This was around 2021, and I was working remotely full-time as an Accountant, and this role was a bit of an hybrid.

I used their offer to negotiate a pay-rise and promotion at my then office. (Into renewables).

Bit of an advise, always do your due diligence before resuming any new role.

Bit of an addition; the company I rejected is struggling from a cash flow perspective as at last year, that's because they a customer to my current company.

Turned down an offer to become dss cadre officer, reasons is becos i don't want to experience the stress my dad is going through all in de name of keeping the nation safe....i think I'm de only one in my family who's not working with the govt.

Imagine losing Marriage and still losing the oceanic Bank Job eventually. Him thinking of his Family was the catalyst that God used to Save him

I rejected it because the employer is a proud wicked man. After I rejected the offer, they double the salary and added a car but I still rejected.

I worked for the man before then.
He used another woman to lure me into the company I later rejected.

I once rejected May & Baker offer in 2014. I will never forget October 8, 2014, in my life!

That day, I was supposed to resume at M&B and a construction company.

Prior to the October 8 resumption, M&B told me I was going to be posted to the east, with a car attached to the offer as Medical Sales Rep, and that it would be contractual. Because I had never been to the east, I instead went and resumed at the construction coy here in Lagos and didn't take up the employment letter at M&B. I was ill-advised. It turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life and I am still suffering it till date!

After some years, I went back there to submit my CV, but didn't get called up.

You took the decision based on your knowledge at the time. And what if something has happened to you if you had gone to the East?

Sometimes regret is a product of ignorance too...

It was mutal benefit assurance. I ws desperate for a job then. Wrote exams, passed, did interview only to be told na commision work (no actual salary), got congratulations sms. I never reported back.

Yes. Just before covid. Heineken. It involves me going to Germany and I won't be able to go with my wife and my girls. £6000 A month and with a chance to bring my family for 2 years. I rejected it cos I didn't want to cheat and I know I would cheat. I so regret it now.

Then 2 months ago, I got an offer of $4500 a month, part time. I rejected it because I know they will come back to me. And they will. The Indian they gave the job too is a rookie SEO and I am sure they will come back.

I am not greedy, I have been doing digital marketing and SEO for 17 years and as a result no longer cheap.
