Why won't you find tire, when you're offering a fat and handsome pay
sir no girl or woman want to work with me for any amount because am single, dey want me to marry or friend them before dey will work, I can't. If I approach any youth or elderly person and offer them 40k job monthly for only washing of clothes with washing machine, their house are close to my laundry shop they won't even pay tfair, they would say no, I sense envy and jealousy they are envious of me paying them such amount as a young man, but they have no job doing . Many of Benin boys are into yahoo and girls doing hookup, some will tell you the job is too hard that dey want easy work., some will say the pay is small I should add to it, I gave up on Benin boys a girl's oh.

Whoever that has not rejected a job offer in Nigeria has never attempted seeking for employment. Everyone can relate. Teaching jobs most especially

Yes. Fresh out of NYSC more than a decade ago, a popular Law Firm in Lagos offered me a job. The principal was extremely rude and arrogant. First day at work, I resumed at 7:30am. Oga came in at 10:00am, gave us some work and went out. He returned to the office at 3:30pm. I was on my seat throughout. When I wanted to close at 6:30pm, Oga abused me and used all sorts of derogatory words, saying I was lazy. He allowed me close at that time because "it was my first day at work".

The next day, I resumed at 7:30am. Oga came in at 10:00am, gave us some work and went out. Again, he returned around 3:30pm. At 4:00pm I went into his office and submitted my work. I told him I was leaving. Oga flared, raining abuses and derogatory words. I told him I was leaving the Firm permanently, as in, I was resigning. Oga became humbled and started begging me. There and then, he increased my salary by 200%. I still said "no". I told him that his firm is too toxic and I can't stay.

That was my shortest employment ever! 🤣🤣🤣

I kept in touch with the idiót for several years after that, updating him of my exponential growth, and to show him that he's not God . . .

Are you sure? Because all these stingy laundry-men i know here, wants to always pay 60naira per-cloth. Up and down native washing and ironing is 1200, together with many other clothes that they increase the price. They increase prices for their clothes and services but dont want to increase ironers money!
Tell me how someone will feed with 60naira per-cloth! One will also be afraid to buy even pure-water with that kind of money sef!

The HR much younger was shouting at me because I refused the salary offer, omo I smell toxicity. I just said no.
Another one the location was prone to high insecurity.

The other one is funny, they said on acceptance of offer, I will travel with the director to his home town and spend two weeks with him. I say if na corporate OS work I apply for.
The audacity in your last paragraph!
And these are the same hypocrites shouting that 'nigeria girls are lazy they don't want to work.' Yet they are ready to sleep with any female before giving her a job.

Thunder 🔥 men who want to sleep with any lady before giving her a job she qualifies for!

You are in another law firm now?

Why do graduates of law always go to law firm. Is that their starting point? Cant they get a life in law without registering in law firms?

1. I'm currently self employed, after working for FG.

2. It's kinda dicey. Young Lawyers who desire to build a career in Litigation or Corporate Solicitation usually require a platform - an established Law Firm. There are many advantages for this. It's like an "apprenticeship" of sorts. A few have the resources and the guts to strike out into the wilderness on their own straight of of Law School. There is actually no hard and fast rule for consolidating in the Legal career.

Wow. Thanks for the input.
But is it rewarding in end, i mean after finishing your apprentice in the firm, what next for the dude?

MOST of them are rubbish in disguise. Imagine paying someone 60k and you want the person to provide his data, light (must be available at any given time for their useless impromptu meeting) with one dull mumu PM of a girl who does eye service. The matter plenty abeg. Some will tell you it hybrid at the end of the day, they would turn it into onsite. Some Nigeria remote work na suffer head
