NSEstudent:weldon. Why didn't you say how much it will cost to install the solar that carry all those things you mentioned. Why do I need to go to nairaland to get information on it when I have friends doing it. .How much is 4 good quality batteries alone which is just starting point for middle range load. Why are banks not using it as sole source of energy instead as backup . How much is 10kwa and above lithium battery. It is over 2 million. |

NSEstudent:I feel your point my brother but you need to consider that the percentage of people who can afford the alternative energy products you quoted are very privileged people in Africa. Unless government can subsidise these products, the cost of acquisition will remain very high and out of reach for many. Do you know that many people in the rural areas have gone back to using kerosene due to the high cost tariff of the electricity supplied to them. Regarding people investing in the NGX, just know that this life no balance for everybody at the same time o! Justbas it's extremely cold in the UK, US.and Canada, some provinces in Nigeria have having multiple baths and even sleeping in their boxers due to the heat. Shalom. |

ololufemi:How many small/medium class businesses in nigeria have capital of 5 million for business. The solar and inverter thing is for the rich in nigeria based on what I see on the street. To pay 1 million naira rent for many states na even wahala. Some people think nigeria is just lagos and abj |

ositadima1:Yes, on geothermal, heard about it but dont really know how that works as you guessed. But I am more scared of renewable energy breakthrough on Hydrogen than Solar, geothermal, etc. Learnt Akwaibom recently signed a Generation deal with China. adamx23:Transition from mainstay electric power solution to another is not as easy as Telecom, software or electronics as Streetinvestor2 highlighted. Even if capital is available. Time-factor of money just as Mobility, portability and miniaturisation still needs a significant development. Until capable tenants can comfortably install solar in his/her rented apartment in Nigeria just as they can afford to buy Generators. It isn't decentralized yet. Solar/battery breakthrough will be mostly in cars. Cuz it's Mobile, portable, less time transition factor, etc No doubt. Na only hydrogen breakthrough I dey fear for now.. |

NSEstudent:it lithium-ion battery really making thing cheaper if naira appreciate more people will understand. I use, electric cooker 1200W each head, microwave on mine and 1hp a.c 2pc but it 15kva battery lithium-ion phosphate truly with panels, inverter and installation. Funny it 3.8m i did all that like $2,500. I am outrightly off grid. People can cut coat according to their size. |

Hello Sir. I politely disagree with these estimates of yours. I have a 7.5kVA PV system so I know what I am saying...except you failed to disclose that you installed your system at least 4-5years ago. A 15kVA PV system in 2025 CANNOT cost less than ₦10m (and I am being modest here)... starpower: |

starpower:How many yrs is this suppose to last before you change the lithium battery. And 3.8 million to cary just this small load. When you add water heater,2 hp ac like two and deep freezer. What size of battery will you be needing. and many other kitchen things since you are going off power supply completely |

[img][/img] KarlTom:sms 15kw lithium-ion phosphate battery 2.1m currently my 6.2kva hybrid 420k. Using got solar panels 550W 120k 6pcs. 1hp a.c is in eco mode just around 550W each. The electric cooker doesn't run for hours am only one a.c during the day but 2 at night. Been using since September. Got them myself. I use Tubular before just scrapped them. Lithium-ion really going to phase out acid lead batteries very soon. Energy density is far better and cycle life on high depth of discharge. Most times installer just over quotes boiler inverter sizes not needed for people.

Been off grid since 2014. Just that very few have habit of managing power. My 42" tv, freezer and fridge and 1 a.c ON is 960W. The freezer consume less when frozen and filed up. Most loads are used during the day. |

I do not know which brand you have in this quote but SRNE Li-P batteries of 16kWh, 51.2V, 314AH costs at least ₦4.35m… Anyway, glad you're able to afford one very recently. Mine has been hard at work since 2019... ![]() Over and Out starpower: |

Is this not cooperate fraud. You leak information to some people to accumulate APR because you want to declare bonus and the price goes up by 200%.Is this applicable in other countries stock market and acceptable. |

https://nairametrics.com/2025/02/25/opec-chief-urges-africa-to-unlock-120-billion-barrels-oil-reserves-and-disregard-misguided-policies/ Oil is going no where soon. Make unna calm down. The truth of the matter is that no renewable can not even sustain themselves. Most of them still depends on oil. Either for production of a component, or as a critical component in them or at least for the funding. How many batteries will the likes of Ajaokuta Stell need? 😆 Don't mind me o. I am in full support of renewable, but I hate politics and propaganda. Renewable is really helping people too. |
