Sunrisepebble:
It’s definitely acquisition related and I think it’s also to do with the debt they cleared earlier this year with their strong cash position, so they’re retaining some.

The Q4 was super though, N2.66 EPS (10.64 annualized) for the standalone. This is without the Chinese running the company. Even without the MTO it will reach that price organically
Anything below #100 with this result. Will be rejected

Lowkey I don’t want the Chinese to come and take the stock away from me now
Their profit basically doubled, nice one. I wonder though why large is performing better now, what happened to them all these years

They charge prices above industry average. Increased demand from infrastructure projects by FG (concrete roads), they pushed out more volumes according to their press release also.

They also reduced their liabilities and borrowings, which in turn, reduce finance costs and cut FX exposure.
I think they also have some green initiatives they’ve tried CNG on some of their trucks

I really don’t want to sell anymore lol. I was thinking of making quick money from the acquisition news but I now like the stock

I don't think that's the way to view it unless you think the price should go back to that point so the dividend can make sense
NASCON's price on the 31st December 2024 was 31.35 naira.

Oando PLC has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the lease of the Guaracara refinery.

Acting Prime Minister Stuart Young, (also Minister of Energy) said the decision was largely based on Oando’s strong financial track record, particularly its $1.5 billion acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ assets in Nigeria.

Oando is a ₦100+ stock.... The upside potential is huge and the dip to ₦48 was a rare opportunity for quick gains.

It pained me that I was only able to purchase just 10,000 units when it deeper below ₦50.

I pray it dip today so that the money I borrowed can go into the market.

The following is from Meta AI:

The Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery, also known as the Pierre Refinery, is located in Trinidad and Tobago. It was once the country's largest refinery, operating for over 100 years before its closure in 2018 ¹.

The refinery was initially built by Trinidad Leaseholds Ltd in 1917, with a production capacity of 75,000 barrels of oil per day. Over the years, it underwent several upgrades and expansions, including a major refurbishment that took seven years to complete and was officially opened in 2000 ².

At its peak, the refinery had a capacity of 190,000 barrels per day and was equipped to produce various petroleum products, including liquid petroleum gases, unleaded motor gasoline, and aviation gasoline ¹. However, due to significant financial losses, lack of competitiveness, and declining production, the Trinidad and Tobago government announced its closure in 2018, resulting in approximately 5,500 job losses ¹.

Since its closure, there have been efforts to sell the refinery, with the Trinidad and Tobago government negotiating with potential buyers.

C'mon, haba!
They made reference to Ondo's acquisition of ConnoccoPhillips for $1.5b several years back.
Was it a phone call from a number one citizen that made that to happen too?

But I agree that Oando still needs to do a lot more to manage its assets and liabilities, especially the huge loans in order to deliver good rewards to shareholders. The several acquisitions alone, without very good management, would not automatically translate to positive results.
