The market is bloody. The only saving grace will be the releasing of audited fantastic results, If not, this red will continue.

Are we looking at the same document? It’s really strange how far our minds can go in twisting evidence once we are invested in a stock.

Even with the ₦208 billion unrealized FX loss—if we exclude that figure—
DangSugawould still have recorded a significant loss. Finance costs ballooned from ₦29 billion to ₦53 billion, which is far above the gross profit of ₦31 billion. And this isn’t even considering operating profit, which is even lower at ₦12.7 billion.

Did you notice that performance is worse than the previous year? Gross profit dropped from ₦86 billion to ₦31 billion, while operating profit fell from ₦72.7 billion to ₦12.7 billion.

My friend, even at below ₦30 per share, this stock is very risky. They haven't found a solution to their problems yet. The only possible fix I see is raising product prices—but how will customers react to that? I don’t know.

To newbies like me, please take the time to examine the financials. Don’t just accept what this guy, me, or anyone else here says as fact. Some people distort reality for personal interests.

Seriously ion understand how you arrived at the bolded, if we add back 208b to profit we would still be at loss, how?

Pls explain..na night school I attend. grin

shocked shocked shocked

First Bank building 40 storey head office at Eko Atlantic City... Misplaced priority?
When was the contract awarded? Under the past or present leadership, do you know? No particular reason for asking.
Just being curious.

By the way, guaranteed annual 11%-12% NET returns over 25 years on UK apartments.

Good evening.
I am a referral partner with a UK real estate company and they have brand new apartments due for completion in March and May this year. Guaranteed government backed 11% - 12% p.a. returns minimum for 25 years and this is net. Buyer pays nothing for repair etc. it's social housing and has government backing. Ready tenants available...
£5,000 deposit, shortly after buyer pays 25% less £5,000 initial deposit. Then balance of 75% payable upon hand over of the apartment.
Later, the buyer can actually take out some of his funds after purchase according to the real estate firm.. a video call meeting (Zoom etc) with the UK real estate firm can be arranged.. mine is to link serious prospects with the UK real estate company. I get my (referral) fee from the UK property company so buyers don't have to pay me any agency/brokerage fee

Kindly share your email address (you can email me on olakunleesq@yahoo.com or whatsapp me on 0807-437-0721) for full details. Shalom

Once 2 or 3 release good results accompany by good dividend, the tide will change.
TA people dorely on volumes to make decisions, if positive outlook surface, their candles go change direction. 😊

I sincerely hope the best results/dividends should come first, especially in the banking sector.

How so?

You think a 130 y-o bank still 'paying rent' for some of their HQ space is normal?
Note that they now operate as a HoldCo so it might be a move to put all entities in one place.

PS: the funds hitherto tagged 'bad debts' will sort a large portion of the building funds...

Yeah but 40 storey building? In Eko Atlantic City? That's going to cost an arm and a leg.. they certainly don't need 40 floors and need not be in Eko Atlantic City.. anyway as long as the shareholders don't complain 🤷

We self don dey refine oil nah
True. The Dangote refinery is ramping up and we have reduced petrol imports by so much this year.

The yellow in this data signifies Port Harcourt Refinery and the blue line signifies imports, the DORC cabotage is Dangote supply via sea and DORC trucking is Dangote supply via truck. Local production dominated the market over imports for the first time in a long while in February 2025.

Everything no be shareholders.

Now this prestige project and you say shareholders.

The shareholders must have approved the project at a past AGM.

Shareholders should be proud investing in a biz with the tallest hqrs building in Nigeria and W/Africa. grin

I suppose the point being made is more in reference to the major source of Govt revenue which is the upstream oil sector..
If its global prices drops especially below the $75 bench mark of our budget , it could trickle down to the economy in general like paying salaries, completing projects, etc and indirectly to businesses getting local returns, etc..and negative sentiment to FPI, etc.

Not necessarily directed at Dangote Refinery but entire NGX.
The ngx is a subset of the economy as well..

Yes but I think the Nigerian economy is more sensitive to low crude oil production than it is to prices as long as oil prices can stay above $55 per barrel. If we refine locally, it reduces the pressure on FX. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think crude oil sales dominate FG revenues like in 2016, it only dominates exports (80%) but if it still does, then increased production to at least 1.8 million bpd this year would help. But crude oil prices has the effect on FX which can be mitigated to an extent via reduced importation.

You think this new tax bill na joke.Just wait and see the kind money it will bring if it finally succeed which I believe will go through.
It empowers government to collect tax from your bank account if you are billed. If yo vex you can go to court. The bank is under obligation to reports your commulative transaction exceeding a particular bench mark for the yr to tax body.
