Good day guys. I don't know if I'm posting this on the right section. But I need urgent answer. I called 2 workers to give me their pop estimate. They both did their measurements. First worker did measurement of 3 rooms, passage, 2 seat out, parlor, dinning and kitchen. Total square Meter was 148m² Here is his estimated materials. 60bags of P.O.P cement 85kg of sponge 2 bundles of binding wires 3 packs of concrete nail Separator =10,000 Second person The second person did measurement of 1 room only, parlor, dinning, seatout, kitchen and passage. Total square Meter was 118.584m² Here is his own estimate P.O.P cement = 70bags or more Filla sponge = 45kg Binding wire = 2 bundles Concrete nail = 3packs Soap, oil 2packs, 2litre of oil. For 148m² of POP ceiling, a solid estimate would be around 50–60 bags of POP cement, 70–90kg of sponge, 2 bundles of binding wire, and the usual nails, separator, and finishing materials, so the first guy’s estimate seems more reasonable. |

SoftSport:No the sponge is too much and 60 bags wouldn't do a detailed design for 148 square metres unless he's doing simple design. Also He didn't include Soap, oil for solution. At #2500 per square meter workmanship, he might not do the work directly but sublet. That's not an issue btw The second guy's quotation is better but he needs to increase the amount of sponge |

gammarays:Fair point on the sponge and design complexity, but 70+ bags for 118m² still seems high, feels like both estimates need a little tweaking. |

SoftSport:Ya but the second is better. Since he's buying the materials, he can buy 60 bags and other materials. If it's not enough he gets the remaining. Labourers often give quotations over the required estimate. Advantage is they get enough materials for the job. Disadvantage is they get an avenue to get more money from the client aside workmanship. |

1 bag of pop powder should do from 4sqm -7sqm.. Depending on the strength and mixture and if no waste.. the designs also matter… Regarding the workmanship, the designs would determine that.. And also, pop done under roofing is quite easier to the one under decking.. |
