You are preaching 60s, 70s and 80s gospels in 2025.
A lot of Nigerians are getting an education now and people's prospects are not what it used to be: people are getting jobs, the uneducated and the half-educated are trading heavily and making money at par or even more money than the white collars ones. People are in political parties and are doing well, making money off politicking. In short people ' s lot have gotten better in Nigeria. So the gospel to get marry early is a good one.
Kobojunkie:
Your kind of advise is the major reason why over 170 million Nigerians are currently living below abject poverty today, with many of them having been caged in poverty by their parents/ancestors before them. undecided

2. Companion and nurse in poverty? How many people living in abject poverty in Nigeria today are enjoying said marriage? undecided

Where do you live? What is the source of your statistic? World Bank or IMF?
Does $1 actually have the same purchasing power as 1,500 naira, its monetary equivalent? I mean what is your yardstick? Is poverty in inner city DC the same as poverty in Kwara for example?

See, I'm itinerant to some extent, and on ground in several places in Nigeria, the kind of life Nigerians have enjoyed in this 25 odd years of democracy, they would not have enjoyed it in a military rule. So yes, things are getting better.

Addendum: a healthy nation is a wealthy one. If you choose to marry late, the prospect of congenital abnormalities is much higher. He who has ears let him hear what the spirit is telling the church.

Mix of everything does not mean it is false. What carries more weight is actually the part you seem to dislike the most, which is the scientific part that can actually be tested.

Millions of girls who have known nothing but poverty in their lives should go on to marry when they reach 18 and cement their lives of poverty and that of their offspring as a result. Many of you don't seem able to reason logically with your brains. undecided
We men are logical all the time.

Most women claim they don't want to marry until they make their own money. Ask them what they're doing to make the money and you'll find out they're making chin-chin, small chops , cake, makeup and small tailoring then augmenting the income with hookup and hopping from one divck to another.

A woman marrying early will help her to align her goals properly. She don't have to keep worrying about men-catching most of the time. With her husband's support she can be whatever she wish to be.

DyshApp:
A young lady who identifies as a Christian woman has advised her fellow women to make enough money and desist from getting married in their 20s

In the video she posted, Faithful Femininity advised Christian women to stay away from early marriage especially when they can’t cater for themselves.

The young lady advised Christian women in their 20s to desist from getting married when they make enough money.

Her words: “As a Christian woman, I have decided that my 20s are not for marriage. My 20s are to make money. Christian women stop entering into marriage so early.”

”Go and make money. You don’t have a dime in your account. God and find a way to make money. In 20s, in your 30s, go and make money. Stop following men around. Some of you are doing Hallelujah Challenge and wearing bridal gowns.

“Have you made money? Like, I will not enter a marriage without money. And I’m talking about multiple sources of steady income. I’m not that kind of Christian woman that will enter her husband’s house with nothing in her account. God forbid. My 20s now na to work hard. My 20s is to make wealth.”

Is she promoting marriage at around age 40? ...when she's financially secured? At that age her age mates would already be married and have kids about to finish secondary school and in the university. ...some would be divorced ... some bad relationships that turned them into woman/man haters ... if single either divorced or have a whole lot of baggage. Her options would be very limited and that will lead to desperation ...desperation to find a reasonable man...desperation to have a child in wedlock. A Christian and money is the main factor for marriage. Hypocrites everywhere.

As a woman, the best time to get married is in your 20s. Except for unforeseen circumstances beyond your control like genotype incompatibilities, tribal segregation etc, do get married if you find a man whom you can integrate into his program, is ambitious, not given to mediocrity, can provide to the best of his capacity for you and loves you. I wish I started off earlier at 22 with what I have grown to know. I prefer for my kids to grow alongside me.

Of course, my opinion is not generalistic, but those who get it, get it. I look at my mother and I envy her. I wish I started off as early as she did. She had me at 22 years. She'd be 50 this year and we could pass as sisters, no jokes. smiley

I mentioned sometime ago that as one ages, their standards stiffen. Ageing stiffens you. You become too self-conscious and could even set yourself up against yourself. Hyper-independence is a complex and that is what ageing will do to you, especially as a woman. With youth comes naivety (maybe not the right word to use), so it is best to capitalize on that if one finds a suitable partner they can lock in with. Marriage doesn't halt anybody from succeeding as long as they aren't married to the weapon fashioned against them. Everything can happen at once.

As a man, if you have a partner who's willing to grow with you, is contented with what you can provide, is supportive and well-grounded, you have no worries at all. There are no guarantees that you would be wealthy even into your 40s. In fact, with two in the picture comes a sense of responsibility and realization, so that reality pushes you to do better than you would have as a single person.

I'd implore my kids to get married early with my support if they don't mind. I love early marriage.

Let me be sure that I get this right! In Nigeria today, the vast majority of women live below the poverty lines both in marriage and outside where they are generally in poverty as a result of being raised in poverty. We are talking many generations mired in poverty today — a population of well over 100 million women in Nigeria. But here you are attempting to convince us, against all logic, mind you, that by marrying and bearing children in poverty, a woman aligns her goals properly? undecided

Are you people OK in the head at all? huh huh huh

Many women who also married early had or got themselves an education and also boast of a ministore where they sell goods or maybe even a market stall — handwork —but poverty continues to follow them no matter what. undecided
