Nigerians in America, how are you coping with Trump's racism ![]() With Trump intent on spewing White Supremacist racist vitriol daily from the white house and also from his "Truth" Social account and the sudden empowerment of racist White Supremacist Americans who have suddenly found their vile voices and are now intent on causing maximum psychological damage and at times physical harm to ethnic minorities, what are your plans going forwards for the next 4 years ![]() Some of if the anti immigrant stuff coming out of America at the speed of light on a daily basis is scary to say the least and I'm wondering how Nigerians living in America are coping ![]() Last month a mask wearing Nazi supporting group and even the KKK marched through Ohio in broad daylight until black locals confronted them and the police told the racist scum to get into their van and leave but not before the police said that since they had not commited any crime yet, they could not be arrested. One of the flyers this Nazi group hung out asked immigrants to self deport themselves before it was too late ![]() A white teacher was asked by the educational top shots in her city to pull down a classroom sign which showed kids hands of all nationalities beneath a sign that read All people are welcome here. She was at first told by her bosses that not all Americans believed that everyone was welcome there and after an online backlash her bosses changed tune and said her poster was political ![]() This is the level of enablement and courage Trump, Vance and Nazi saluting Elon Musk have given to every brand of racist in America that ut is OK for them to bring out their racist rhetoric to mainstream media and all public spaces now. To those Nigerians in America, how have you explained this sudden turn of events to your children especially the younger ones ![]() Are you contemplating relocating back home to Nigeria and if so, how are you going to cope with the political state in Nigeria which is simply put "corruption to the power of infinity" where the winner takes all ![]() If you are staying put in America which I think most of you will choose to do, what will you do to cope for the next 4 years and beyond with a certified racist in the white house and an American society that now portrays immigrants as unwanted in America ![]() |

I have never experienced any racism in any of the regimes in America whether Bush, Obama Trump Biden or Trump 2 Its mostly the people who are not living in America or the race baiters that are complaining about racism America is sweet as ever, Gods own country is doing great |

Nigerians are used to Trump’s style of racism since his first tenure. I remember back then when he randomly posted a video on his social media account of some black kids beating up a white kid for just no reason. Thousands of Nigerians without complete papers are likely also hiding. Coming to reply on nairaland would be the least of their problems Lol. |

Danwakae:Yes, they do at times physically attack black people. Last year August 2024, during the Anti immigrant protests in the UK, gangs of white men attacked 2 black men on the streets of the UK and in one of the cases once the black man was on the floor, one of the white men kicked his head like a football. Stephen Lawrence an 18-year-old black British citizen was killed in a racially motivated attack by a gang of white men while waiting at a bus stop in London in 1993. Instead of the institutionnaly racist London police to move quick to arrest his killers, the police delayed until the killers escaped and were able to destroy vital evidence although they were later caught and jailed and an enquiry labelled the London Metropolitan Police as being "institutionnaly racist". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Stephen_Lawrence Don't forget that in 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black American man, was murdered in Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, a 44-year-old white police officer. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_George_Floyd With the way Donald Trump, JD Vance and Elon Musk are emboldening White racists in America as we speak, I pray we don't go back to the state of affairs that existed in America 100 years ago where white people saw it as a sport to lynch black people and take photos of the dead bodies with the white killers standing proudly in the photos beside their dead victim. A harrowing case was the lynching of a black man named Jesse Washington in Waco, Texas, in 1916 where the black man was repeatedly lowered and raised onto a fire as if the white killers were roasting meat for about two hours as seen in the image below. A "professional" photographer took pictures of the lynching as it unfolded. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynching_of_Jesse_Washington

Ilekokonit:Racism in America dey learn work when compared with the rabid and violent tribalism we have in Nigeria..........As a black African residing in the USA ....you got to carry yourself with confidence and comportment! then you're good! |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Ofodirinwa: 2:45am On Mar 26, 2025 |
Danwakae:lol mumu, you think racism is calling you names? In the US, statistically a white man who dropped out of secondary school will get a job before a black man with a college degree. If you don't know, google it. Nigeria is difficult but lets not pretend on problem is not a problem just because you want to feel sorry for yourself and exaggerate. |

Let no one deceive you, no matter how bad it is here, it can’t be compared to what Nigerians face in Nigeria… You can easily ignore an insult from a stranger than being marginalised, denied your rights by your own home country government. Only few Nigerians will still be here if they’re subjected to the same situation in Nigeria here in United States… If you have a chance leave Nigeria, it’s better abroad especially if you are not earning up to 2m naira monthly in Nigeria |

Who told you there is racism anywhere in USA? Trump has kept every one on its toes. It's no more business as usual. America only became more accountable and strict to illegal immigrants. As for the LGBTQ guys, I sorry for them this period. One of my neighbors stopped wearing his rainbow socks....I laugh when I see am with black socks. Baba comot hm rainbow sticker for car. Werey I love this America |

Do not believe everything you see on social media. Its like using what happens in some states in the north to judge the whole Nigeria. All my Nigerian friends with papers in USA are living their best lives. A few online masked extremists cant define a country |

Don't let leftist American media deceive you. Trump is doing great. Nigerians with papers are loving it. Of course, we have some Nigerians who are brainwashed by leftist media here that will never see anything good in what Trump is doing even when they or their children will benefit from it. And on racism, there is racism everywhere in the world, even in Nigeria. Only on this platform, we can see racism between Yoruba and Igbo etc. |

Helpout12345:Honestly, it amazes and amuses me to see Nigerians lamenting about racism in the West and so-called xenophobia in South Africa when they practice worse in Nigeria! The annoying aspect of their tribalism is the excruciating poverty and multidimensional privation that cloaks the citizenry. Belgians have tribalism. Koreans and Chinese bicker every now and then, but they are wealthy and comfortable. Meanwhile, people wey dey lament about the price of rice will chant tribal slurs from morning to night including the oversabi ones in the abroad. Liberal in the abroad, tribal demons in Nigeria. Well, maybe it's time the white man learns some of the tribal bigotry they churn out. |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Gerrard59(m): 3:25pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
JagabanBorgu:Another big fat lie! If so, how come Blacks in the US and UK have higher living standards than their counterparts in Africa? How come African Americans are the wealthiest set of black people in the world? Nonsense lies everywhere! This one supports a tribal Tinubu but cries of racism! Imagine a man who doesn't know how to cook lamenting how a chef cooked a meal!! |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Gerrard59(m): 3:28pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
Ofodirinwa:Then make your economy to be prosperous so your people can get good jobs and live prosperous lives. That's what the Chinese did as they couldn't rise to executive positions in the US. They are moving to China in large numbers. The United States is the White man's land. If you don't like it, build your own United States! |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Gerrard59(m): 3:32pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
BTW, the Black people who should complain about racism should be only African Americans as they were taken to the US AGAINST THEIR WILL. Every other black person got there via an airplane WILLINGLY and knows his or her papa's village. |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Helpout12345: 3:51pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
Honestly, if Nigeria can get a president like Trump for just 8 years, many Nigerians in the US including those brainwashed by the media will start relocating back home. A president that put his country and its citizens first and not the rubbish leaders we are currently recycling in Nigeria. |

| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Helpout12345: 3:56pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
Kaczynski:And is it by force the immigrants must help the US thrive ?? If the US says they don't need immigrants help, immigrants should go to another country or stay back in their country and help their country thrive. |
| Re: Nigerians In America, How Are You Coping With Trump's Racism ??? by Kaczynski: 3:57pm On Mar 26, 2025 |
Gerrard59:the US doesn't belong to neither the black or white man |
