Guys any idea why this thing (R2 Pro) is charging extremely slow with gen?

Thought it was supposed to be less than 2 hrs to fully charge with AC input.

I was thinking maybe the load is too much for the generator but then the gen I’m using perfectly powers a 1.5hp inverter AC and and fridge together without issues.

I also tried adjusting to 500watts charging speed from the app but not sure if it has any effect so far as I’m still seeing 5hrs as time remaining. AC input is fluctuating between 300 and 40 (up and down)..

Is this normal or am I missing something?

On Grid supply or a higher capacity gen, yes.

What's the rated wattage of your generator? Reduce the charging speed to 200W.

Okay, the rated wattage of the generator is 2000w

The reason is that most gen we have are not sine wave. Mine first did like that until I found a hack around it. The only thing I can't do is to fast-charge it. But 500 - 800 watts input still work. I don't know the optimised charging for river 2 pro, you may want to provide that.

The load is not too much. In fact, maybe too little.

What I did to maintain a charging speed of 800 watts was to ON my freezer, two fans, tv and other appliances I use normally when there is light. The load on my gen ensures a constant rate of supply, so it doesn't fall below it to be giving me 140 watts or 200 watts.

You may want to try that.

I have 2 units, and the type c ports of both stopped working in less than a month.
Has anyone faced this and resolved it?

Firmware update status?

Unplug all cables and do a reset (Power+DC button for 10 seconds).

I have done the reset multiple times.
Firmware says it's up to date but I've never received an update
