The Bible was first written in Hebrew before translated into Greek then Other modern languages.
What you call "hell" in English is "grave" or "earth" in Hebrew ,it is the final resting place of the dead,the "underworld". the phrase "hell fire was derived from "Gehenna" in Hebrew,it is a place in ancient West Jerusalem where babies are thrown into fire as sacrifice the cannanites gods,then later it was a place where the dead were disposed and burnt.

I wonder where modern Christians got the whole idea of eternal fire that burns a human souls with no flesh and blood or brain receptors where does the physical pain come from?
The hell fire we are all afraid of is the earth itself it is a place of pain and suffering, all humans on earth are suffering one way or the other,our major assignment on earth should be how to get out of this realm back to our Creator the "source" which is the heaven we all know.

Given that God created good and evil and The Laws controlling them, going by His Laws, the evils must be punished according to the evils they have done.

And that punishment cannot be done on earth because the earth was created to be very good.
