I wonder how many stocks per year on average, do you get chance to enter based on this entry strategy?

aj8:
@yMcy56
You probably would have guessed that that at their current prices, I would not jump into either. Why? Simply because they are way above the metrics I use for my Common Sense Entry Strategy. For this strategy, my entry is gauged either on estimated EPS, where I buy into at a price way below (EPS x 4), or buy at a price way below 10x estimated dividends. I use whichever is higher of the two metrics. I don’t however doubt their potential to appreciate bearing in mind their valuation based on P/E. The cost of raw rubber is forecast to continue its climb so would expect Okomu to do well into 2025 and probably pay higher dividends if not at least the same total of N36. So my entry for Okomu would be N360 or lower which I doubt if they would ever drop to that …hence my not jumping in but would if it does. Dangote in the same vein N300 is based on dividends. Can safely jump in if it ever drops below that price which again I doubt it would.
So far, the strategy has kept my funds safe and I pray it continues that way.

The aim remains to get into a front row seat on any stock before it starts to climb. Not when the train has departed the station. However should the train return to the station Jump in.

The gurus on this platform will be able to do justice to this. I don’t consider myself one.

These are purely my thoughts. Please pick whatever seems flesh and throw away the bone.

Thank you for the tremendous good you are doing on this platform. You have my respect.

Ok, a good systematic and simple entry strategy. But what about the exit strategy? How do you know when it's time to bail?
I know it's not for me, but from his usual write-ups
His Exit price is usually EPS X 4 on average on most stocks.
But due to peculiarities of some stocks e.g OS, Brand, etc.
His exit price could be X3 or X5 or higher or X4 + discounted by some percentage as the case may be.

Shouldn't we compare stocks to only their peers in the same industry? Geregu is probably ok if you compare it to Transcorp Power.
I think these stocks pay between 0.6%-2% yield to shareholders on a consistent basis, if ee even reach 1% yield sef.
(Well not for early peeps)

Meaning for a consistent payout ratio only, (all other things being equal)
one will get back initial capital in 100years if not more grin

An improved dividend payout over the years may likely reduce it to between 30-50years ceteris paribus. grin

Capital Appreciation should be the life saver. Achieving the ideal between 5-10years Max.
But some how, these companies have mastered the art of creating huge market liquidity at only specific time frames. If you miss this window of opportunity it's almost impossible to sell; if not fully impossible as the skillful art of full offer begins to display. grin

As for the power stocks, no blame them, FG down to Discos(40% FG) be their debtors and them no fit fight FG.
yet they have to pay for raw material-gas to to power their turbines.

But you see that Transcorphotel?

Here's your company result

The result isn’t too bad. If we discount the forex losses, they actually turned a profit—revenue increased, and gross profit improved. They now have a buffer from the rights issue and have managed to pay down a significant portion of their debt.

So, in 2025, I expect their interest expenses to decline. The FX losses have already been realized and dealt with—unless there are additional undisclosed issues. Based on my quick observation of the financials, they should return to profitability this year. The gurus should torch light further. undecided
