It is even possible that the unthinkable could happen. Trump is playing the same cards he showed to Chaina, and the world 8 years ago. China has made serious adjustments since then. They also saw Trump's second term coming and knew what to expect. So it is not a surprise this time, and they definitely have their own plans. SonofElElyonRet: |

Streetinvestor2:Bros, Oando no cast again....or you are on the other side now? ![]() |

This trade war between the US and China tends to last for a while to see who burge first. Just look at another matter brewing in the UK, where the parliament had to come back from a recess to potentially renationalise British Steel from heading into a total collapse. While I don't agree with some part of Trump’s tariff push but a man’s go to do what he gotta to remain as a world leader. |

Well, as of now it is Trump who is openly begging China to negotiate. Let's see who is the world leader. delvzy: |

Picky1:that one don pass. Oando has reset for a new bull run. Take position for an impressive Q1 result that will reflect the impact of new assets and boost hope that debts will be repaid off one day. But keep an eye on crude oil. Oil stock cannot be heading to Sokoto while oil price is nosediving to PH. ![]() |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by SonofElElyonRet: 3:32pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
zendi:So your bull run is conditional upon healthy crude price |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi: 3:37pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
SonofElElyonRet:That's my belief. Note my last sentence. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Agbalowomeri: 3:37pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
SonofElElyonRet:Are you really asking this question? If Brent near $40 expect ASI at 65k |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi: 3:54pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
Agbalowomeri:In fact, if Brent drops to $50, drillers will start winding down production, given Nigera's high cost of production. There are things I refrain from uttering here, to avoid triggering panic selling. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 3:58pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
zendi:Even $50 is not good for U.S. They are now net exporters of crude and some in the U.S oil industry have also argued they don’t want crude that low. OPEC+ members like Russia and Brazil are also lamenting low oil prices because it would affect them greatly so I believe and hope oil prices do not get to $50. |

“President Trump exempts smartphones, computers, and chips from the new tariffs on China”. Even Trump don dey mellow. |

GeneralDae:That one is from lobbying at home. Didn't you hear that Apple airlifted home cargo planes of phones, was it yesterday, to try and beat some of the tariff payment? And while at that, lobbying also must have continued day and night, through Trump's many friends in Big Business. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi: 4:48pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
GeneralDae:Oil around that price is sure recession for all oil dependent economies, so you should highlight that 'hope' again for the sake of Nigerians who don't know what is encroaching. |

GeneralDae:I've just been watching a CNN reporting on this where we're reminded that the cowboys of some these companies like Apple, Dell donated millions to his inauguration ceremony. No matter how hard you are, when your bossom friends cry out, you listen, and open to them a window to escape. |

Agbalowomeri:What made ASI down during PMB government. What was crude price during his tenure.Has price of crude stopped so many businesses on nse from making good growth and increasing dividend pay out Ucap Transcorp Nahco Banks..etc I will only accept that it affects mostly companies in that sector .why don't crude price when high not make desired impact on nse based on past experiences |

delvzy:Lol.... To the extent of destroying other countries that wants to chase their own dreams and paths? Like Iran, Libya, Iraq, north Korea etc ? US can pursue what is good for their own best interest but other countries can't, as a matter of fact, they would be bombed back to stone age and sanctioned to death for doing that. Many dare not even think of converting their foreign reserves away from dollars not to think of doing it. The US will sponsor unrest to destabilize such economy and topple the government. It's well |

zendi:The whole oil and gas industry is really experiencing a cut back in finance and budget. Many oil rigs don't run night shifts again, just day duty alone thereby dropping half workers. Even ports have reduced so many workers and night crew and few and in some areas, none. I observed this at kizomba alpha, bravo at block-15 at Soyo, Angola, same in Luanda sonils port, likewise cabinda. From Congo to Gabon to Nigeria, the story is the same. Honestly, being in the industry, I am not really bullish on the long term of the industry. |

zendi:Whatever befalls Nigeria is all her fault. Who works in an oil. Company like shell, earning 3m per month with other income totalling 5/6m per month, yet doesn't diversity and invest part into other investment. Rather, he is always in the club drinking to stupor, even owing the club owner debts. Owes the hotel owner debts for sleeping in 7 start hotels with his concubines, took massive mortgage for house and car just to keep showing off as a big man working with shell. If such person is laid off after 20 years in service, it means he is a fool for not having any savings nor investment and if the children that were ignored, throw out of school for having a reckless father who comes home late, drunk and always beating their mother, not always dropping feeding money are all watching and hoping nothing befalls them when their father goes out of job, then, they are not any better. Don't plan with Nigeria. Have your own plans |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 9:08pm On Apr 12, 2025 |
emmaodet:I agree Nigeria should have been diversified by now but the worries about low oil prices is not just a Nigerian thing though. It’s a worry for all nations with oil as a major source of export except you are U.S and Saudi Arabia. Even in U.S, the uncertainty is affecting crude oil producers. The big producers like Exon with lesser operating costs may be able to cope with low oil prices but not small producers in the U.S.

GeneralDae:I agree. It only means they are all reckless fathers who always meet at the bar every night to drink and carry prostitutes instead of investing. They all should accept whatever befalls them. |
