Good morning everyone, happy Sunday.

Please as a newbie to the stock market, can anyone kindly recommend books, or any other guides I can go through to understand the stock market more.

Thank you.

The book Why Stocks Go Up and Down.
This book won’t teach you how to trade or use specific trading platforms, but it provides a simplified and clear overview of how the stock market works.

Once you’ve gone through it, you can ask your questions on Gemini — it’s great at helping you understand concepts — or feel free to bring your questions here.

The free version of Claude is very good, but it has the shortest question limit. Gemini, on the other hand, is almost unlimited. They're all good—ChatGPT and Grok included. DeepSeek thinks a lot; sometimes it exceeds its quota just trying to figure things out, without even answering the question. As for Meta, the last time I used it, it was the least accurate, so I haven’t bothered with it since.

They’ve all come a long way. There was this really tough probability question I struggled with a few years ago—it took me weeks to solve. I started using that question as a benchmark to test these AIs. For a long time, none of them could give the correct answer. Then DeepSeek finally solved it—and I was like, damn, it found a completely different way to crack it. After that, when the other AIs began implementing reasoning functions, they also started solving it. I'm still not sure if Meta can handle it even now.

I've seen huge progress across the board, even at work, thanks to AI. People who really know... know.

I wrote an entire Master’s thesis using AI—for someone else. I handled everything: the research and write up, the questionnaire, and even used it to learn SPSS to carry out the statistical analysis for both the pilot study and field research. Mind you, I’m just a degree holder in a different discipline, lol.

I even prepared the PowerPoint presentation for his defense. Una way dey use masters and even Nigerian PhD, I no rate una ooo, lol.
Won't plagiarism checkers flag them?

I tried Deepseek too but not satisfied with it's answers most times. It is not always comprehensive and elementary to be fully understood by even a kid.
Claudia is good but it's drawback is the limitation to limited version unless you subscribe.
I also use copilot when have exceeded my Claudia daily limits but in all, I prefer Claudia.
I learnt 2 things from you on this thread that has really helped me.
1. Is using of Claudia to solve questions that I find difficult to answer.
2. Taking loans in such a way it is self-payable in 3 years using annuity system.
I also learnt to take cash backed loan using brokers to raise capital for use from emmanualewumi.

Great job senior man, Also, you can add tooltips to the bubbles as there are some that when the differences in the market is small and the ticker characters are small maybe 3 letters or so, you may not be able to read them, but if their is tooltip that once one hover a mouse over a bubble it will bring the name or ticker of the stock, it will be easier to read and that will give a better user friendly interface. Thanks.
Coming very soon sir

My name is Oliver Twist

Please, create a dummy Portfolio View, on the website, in addition to the Market View that exists now, whereby one can create a dummy Portfolio, and see only stocks he or she has selected into that Portfolio.

In essence, I can click on the Market View tab, to view all stocks in the market, or I can click on the Portfolio View tab, to view only stocks I have selected into the Portfolio.
As discussed, the watchlist feature has been added

And it had to be Access bank. But then what is the quality of the assets being bought by Access bank. See what is writen in the article:

"This acquisition allows Access Bank to take up 100% ownership of National Bank, effectively removing National Bank and its bad debt overhang from the books of the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group, which previously held a majority stake"
