idealtailor:There are rules that guides trading in NGX. 1. For each trading day, a stock can either increase or decrease by +/-10% 2. Stocks can officially increase or decrease if a single transaction of 100,000units or more is made. 3. A stock can go on full bid (buyers queue with no offer on the table) OR, go on full offer (sellers queue with no buyer on the table) during the trading hours (btw 10am to 2.30pm on trading days OR, have both Offers and Bids. Now to your question: * All broking houses are connected to the Nigerian Stock Exchange digital trading platform and all traders/investors/brokers, regardless of where you're staying trades from same NGX Trading Platform........ meaning, Stanbic oo, Bamboo oo....and every other houses does not have different price for any stock. *DANGCEM has been on full Offer (Sales) at -10% with buyers coming to buy (what you want to buy is on ground), but no 100k single transaction to fall the price. Hence, the official closing price of DANGCEM remains N480, But you can get it at -10% that the sellers are willing to sell to you, which is N432. It can go as high as N528 and as low as N432...You can buy at any price within the price range until the price changes (with 10kobo par value mvmt). * DANGCEM official opening price = N480 +/-10% band = N432 to N528. ** This has been discussed several times here. ** Hope it's understood.....I didn't use big terms at least....... Though the explanation long small ![]() |

emmaodet:As seen in attached picture, 1m naira as at 2014 was $5,000 at @197 to $1 exchange rate. The same 1m has shrunk to $606 in 2024, 10 years later at an exchange rate of 1650 to a dollar. That is a 19% reduction on yearly dollar basis. $5000 in 2024 at 1650 rate = 8.25m if that money was held and not changed from 2014 to 2024. If that $5,000 was invested in dollar bond at %7 rate, it would have increased to $9,800 in 10 years, 2024 to give around 16m compared to 1m in 2014 left in naira. For the 1m to be relevant in naira, it has to generate atleast 30% per annum from 2014 to 2024 to give 13.8m which looks possible with a mixture of mutual funds and stocks or a 32% per annum to give 16m by 2024.

A roic of 20% on mutual fund, 30% on stocks per annum is 25% on average. A 20m in MF will give 4m A 30m in stock will give 9m Total profit is 13m. ROCE = 13m/50m x 100% = 26% |

Yesterday (15/04/25), is the qualification dates of Fidelity Bank, GTCO and Zenith Bank. If you are in, then expect to receive your dividend on their respective payment dates. But, if you are out, no course to worry as today is a beautiful opportunity to enter the stocks at a discount. Today the prices of these stocks will be marked down for dividend payments. In the past when prices are marked down, they appreciate the same day, but i don't see this happening since the bears had set in. What is keeping some of these stock afloat is the declaration of these dividends. You can use UBA as a case study (it was marked down for dividend a few days ago) and it is yet to get back to the price it was marked down. I see the marking down of stocks as a good opportunity for entry point. I believe it is also called ex-dividend. So, expect a lot of red today in the banking sector, particularly as it relates to the aforementioned stocks. I don't need a TA, SA. FA, or any chart for that matter to predict that Fidelity Bank, GTCO and Zenith Bank will be on the losers side today . If you didn't have opportunity to jump in for dividend, now is another opportunity to jump in without dividend at a good price. If these companies release their first quarter results and it beats market expectation, then in no distant time they will soon attain the price they were before they were marked down. ![]() |

Access Bank result is not bad. It all have to do with these acquisition, just consider the bank as half of Zenith Bank share price. Since, Zenith is in the region of N50 and declared a total dividend (interim & final) of N5.00k, while Access Bank is selling for N21.40k and declared a total dividend (interim & final) of N2.50k. If we go by this simple analogy Access Bank returned a better yield than Zenith Bank .But, in shares business analysis is not just done using the above parameters, there are several other things considered. Zenith is having about eps of N25 while that of Access is N16. I am only trying to console myself, Access is not where it is supposed to be. The earlier they put a hold on acquisition, the better. Fidelity bank is gradually catching up on Access Bank, while UBA had long left it. I used to remember when Access was ahead of UBA, later they were at par like siamese twins, before UBA left it. We are long term with Access, hoping that one day it will reach where it is supposed to be. It shouldn't be the cheapest FUGAZ share. ![]() |

chimex38:Including poverty, financially illiteracy, and investing in things you don't understand how they made. No business can give you 100% monthly return. Investing N1 million at 100% monthly and then compounding it will grow to N4 billion in 12 months how is that possible? In the voice of "Egungun of Lagos", that is massive baby |

If I was one of those who lost money in CBEX, by now, the person or people who introduced me to it would have seen Shege Banza in my hands. I will surely beat blood out of their eyes and mouth. Next time, they will not see mouth to deceive people, just because they want to use them to collect Referral Bonus. |

essentialone1:I even find it difficult to introduce shares which is legit to people who have no interest, because any bear market such people will complain and run back to me. I always lay emphasis that the price of shares can go up or down. In fact i also tell any person that cares to listen that you can lose all your investment. I lost a number of investment too: Viz Bank PHB, Abosedhyde, Oceanic Bank etc. So, share business sometimes is not all about gain. There are losses too, i am not even talking about some companies you buy and not generating anything or the ones the price that crash. Every level investment has its risk. |

In addition to your loss of funds, I can guarantee that you will do some good jail time. 1. Where you forced to part with your funds? Abi na greed do you? 2. Like it's often said here, you're the manager of your portfolio so why are you trying to shift the blame? PS: Greedy people have greedy friends and they'll suffer the aftermath of their greed. Every mallam to his kettle... essentialone1: |
