Shouldn't we be cautious of accepting their profit declaration since they declared dividends despite having negative retained earnings? I understand that many analysts put a red flag on a company that gives out dividends while their retained earnings are negative. This is because whatever caused such a company to give dividend can also cause it declare false profits. That is why CBN doesn't sllow banks to do thst. I am not saying that is the case with Japaul in this case. But some may take this into account. It is better for a company that made a loss to pay dividend from existing retained earnings.

Ginalex:
Japaulsand to the world 🤸💃. It's like I'll keep this as a long term investment.

The same 'midwitted' Gala MD has been creating jobs and delivering value to Nigerians for decades. As far as the economy is concerned, he probably has more skin in the game than you do — unless 'midwitted' has some other meaning than the one we know.

22 APRIL 2025 NIGERIA MARKET UPDATE WITH SOME GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Market was fair for the day just in line with global market perspective. With oil as key factor and US/China factor holding down oil price, now with Trump likely confirmation of soft pedaling on the feud, we should see more green days in the market.

Indices wise, Consumer goods sector was top yesterday followed by Insurance . Looking at our proposed trades our of our list, UCAP should be one of the stocks in focus.

The likely performance of the banks looks somehow,it seems the fintechs are taking away more business from the banks (surprised that for 4the QTR 2024, looking at the 3 months alone, FCMB made a loss (likely due to loan impairment provisions), no wonder for March 2025 we see a lower figure compared with the 2024 figure.

We have updated the profit forecast for NAHCO and FCMB. FCMB will likely see a lower Profit in March 2025 l

📊 Market is open!

Can we build on yesterday’s green momentum? 🍀
NSLTECH(+9.8%), INTBREW (+9.09%), & JAPAULGOLD (+6.1%) are already bubbling up early in today’s session.
But not all’s rosy... AIICO is down -7.32% and UNIVINSURE -1.96% so far 🔻

Track the pulse in real-time.

Nothing like one chance.....
Needs to go thru SEC approval first before the distribution.......
EXCEPT SEC did not approve it....... and other means of paying it will be proposed.

The same VFD that was on full offer n Monday n Tuesday.

Indeed, you can never understand how human being thinks.

Vfd is going places but still long term investment.

Doesn't make him less of a mid wit

At every level in Nigeria, there are midwitted people giving midwitted takes all the time

My best reference to this was when "educated Nigerians" were arguing on Twitter as to why Nigeria does not need 24 hrs light grin tongue

someone will say now that because the person is "providing" jobs, that such analysis does not potray being "not sharp"

Pointing to the profits of a few firms in a weak and battered currency as your "proof" that Nigeria ain't poor is a midwit and silly take

No spinning it

It is packaged and ready. The ceremonies did not start today. But crediting it now will drop the price further nearer to PH. There are merciless sellers who will chase a defenceless stock all the way down to the car park if they can see buyers.

That's if the management never ready for them.
E get as Dem dey handle this kind thing...

The banks with their huge OS refused to fall below certain prices..... E get why.
Those expecting the prices at ridiculous lows may have to wait longer...... that's the situation of things on ground, at least for now.

Once SEC gives approval, the distribution will be credited.
We can see how it plays out in other bonus scripts as well.
** The unusual delays from SEC is worrisome, something needs be done to speed up the processes.

** Oando to release result on/before may ending**

Yes. I remember the agony of waiting for allotment in UCAP. I hope SEC does something to speed up the process.

I need clarification on this UBA Dividend reinvestment program.

Is it compulsory for all?

If reinvested now, when will it mature?

Can it be withdrawn at any time one wants to discontinue with the reinvestment program?

Assuming but not conceding that my gross dividend is N200,000 and my Net dividend after WHT Tax will be N180,000. On which of them will the 17.875% per annum be applied on?

Will there be double taxation? Will the profit from the reinvestment program be taxed again?

Please reply urgently. Next tomorrow is the D-Day.
