Guys, is bank charging Electronic Money Transfer Levy on dividend deposit legal? I think it’s not included in the 2020 (2022) act, is it?

Hunger and poverty they wound people for naija but all these companies just dey hammer for q1 results. Does it mean they have been exploiting the people of nigeria via all this increase in product and services hiding under inflation and government policies.
I am just reasoning the matter oh.
A more stable FX at the official market in Q1 than in any quarter in 2023 and 2024 is largely responsible. FX losses are now minimal. Also, increase in prices to match the inflation.

In Q1 2025 though, some manufacturing companies increased volume of sales and even MTN added 2.6 million new subscribers. So probably Q1 2025 also saw an improved economic environment all round than Q1 2024.

Dangote Sugar: the cost of sales, finance cost and administrative expenses na hin Dangote carry finish us here. There were improvements like FX gain, increased revenues, increased in EPS, although negative EPS etc, but the cost of raw materials, labor and logistics remain very high. The company is still borrowing high because of increased interest rate. The stock will definitely fly high in near future unless our exchange rate tumbles and the interest rate remains very high. grin grin grin
Las Las Aliko go sell Dangsugar plus the shareholders to Chinese the same way he did for Dangflour grin

The most shocking is that Nigerians are still guzzling enough beer to keep the breweries not only still in business but to actually remain hammering.
The only loss I have seen so far by a major company is Total Energies and that is understandable (the Dangote refinery effect). It’s been profit after profit all over in Q1. Even Cadbury with heavy losses since 2023 rebounded strongly.

Na you dey look am as hammer
What about all the forex losses
Some will not come out of negative retained earnings for another two years
For a good number of them though especially the ones making more than 100% profits, FX losses are now minimal.

He would have left when the time comes to reap. He is PeTERiChY's comrade. Remember when Loco marketed TRANSCORP for month. He bought 10 million units and sold around N1.20 only for Otedola to come in Lol and the rest is history grin
Thanks for this sir.
I don't know you still remember this scenario.
Loco would have made massive fortune with TRANSCORP if he had been patient!!
He even bought plenty at N1.40 that time......before it fell back to N1 and below.

I even reminded him to re-enter at around 2+ or even 3.50 but he didn't.
I hope his impatience will not cost him CHAMS when it's time comes as well. 😊

Although I understood it's not easy to tie money down, but if he exited, he should continue to keep CHAMS on his watchlist and continue to monitor it for a news that may eventually lift it up.
He used to have eyes for some of those stocks, even if it didn't respond immediately.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Bigdeal01: 6:50am On May 01, 2025
The banks are still making more money. All those parameters we use in assessing them are wrong. They should be selling at higher prices than they currently do. Companies in other sectors with similar earnings are trading at 3 to 4x the price of bank stocks.

Banks have been more consistent not only in earning but in dividend pay out too. Solid returns for investors over the ears.

Mercy I am very sure I will not sell chams.
I still believe it will respond to news within this year.
The worst case for it is to attain #1.81 and reverses again

No wahala. Thanks for reminding me the mistake I made in Transcorp some years ago..

But I expected a bumper Q1 result from chams which failed.Does it means the mgt like the price at #2 or lower?

I just remembered this long trail of sell that very time up to 3 pages.10m units of Transcorp sold and in less than one month, news surface for good.its a pity.I will not like this experience again therefore I have to wait it out while I use other available funds to trade other stocks.

To you, it's hopeville, to me it's an investment that have higher chances of making me a billionaire, it may take time to happen but the chances of it happening is higher.

Remember buffet statement, if you buy what is popular often time, you wouldn't do well enough.

I have done the physical DD of the farm via a Friend and we like what we see n are ready to wait it out.

Ellahlakes looks like hopeville now but many will be surprised very soon.

Loco calls on multiverse comes to mind, people are still trapped, loco is trader an investor must avoid his calls.

Agba, boys are still expecting gt at 5, I hope it will still happen, I I'll also stake my gain from ellahlakes to buy that one too.

Lol. At least you don finally reach the 7th stage of grief:

Shock > Denial > Anger > Bargaining > Depression > Testing > Acceptance.

While not necessarily a joyful or happy stage, acceptance is where individuals come to terms with the reality of the loss and begin to move forward, finding a new normal.
This one na one of those motivational rubbish. Chams results is not good but t is not a dead company. We have many companies here that just turned green which has been bringing out loses for yrs now. They did not still declear loss.
I have never seen you own call. When the market turn red now .Many of you go disappear leaving the thread for mcy and few of us.Gurus when the market is green
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by HesInMe: 8:00am On May 01, 2025
Banks trade at a P/E discount in every major efficient market for a reason, even though they make money. A lot of their earnings is paper money that can vanish in an instant (see: subprime housing crisis in America). Unlike Presco, where we can touch the trees and the mills and can see durable, recurring oyel income. Banks' discount account for the higher risk to their earnings.

Lol. I didn't want to mention you in that post, as you still dey the 4th Stage:

Shock > Denial > Anger > Bargaining > Depression > Testing > Acceptance.

A desire to bargain for the loss to be undone.

I bought the stock just a year ago and still in profit. I'm not tied down by the company, I tied down my capital myself because I believed in what they are doing on like you that bought companies without any tangible reasons, just emotions. I'm sure you are still in loss with chams and will still lose 10% tomorrow, I see you as just a speculator in the stock market, change your ways, you don't have to prey on new bies to make money in the stock market.

Your response shows your emotions is getting better of you..

You can always do better.
