Can you give details please. I know they just had their board meeting yesterday
Board Meeting outcome has not yet been released.
Thought you're a long termer huh
Chi Plc is a dividend payer.........how much they'll pay is another story......because a large amount of the income was moved to retained earnings..
Maybe they're already putting mercineries in place for the new capitalization who knows.....
Let's wait for the dividend they're coming up with.

Carefully forget TA and FA. Should we get some serious minded people(not pseudo-intellectuals) running this country on business, these portfolios are just baby steps in a long haul. cool

Mercy I am very sure I will not sell chams.
I still believe it will respond to news within this year.
The worst case for it is to attain #1.81 and reverses again

No wahala. Thanks for reminding me the mistake I made in Transcorp some years ago..

But I expected a bumper Q1 result from chams which failed.Does it means the mgt like the price at #2 or lower?

I just remembered this long trail of sell that very time up to 3 pages.10m units of Transcorp sold and in less than one month, news surface for good.its a pity.I will not like this experience again therefore I have to wait it out while I use other available funds to trade other stocks.
You for show the ridiculous price you sold that time too.......
I hope Yariya too was able to wait it out.......she bought plenty also, at below N1 or so.
Anyway, nothing wrong in selling if a stock is tying capital down without any meaningful returns or you can't see value for your money at a particular period.........but the bad thing is sighting good news there and still refuse to jump back in.......
Na here we dey discuss about Otedola stepping in, come say buy some but didn't bulge.
Maybe you still needs to appease the gods as Peterichy said......
If you're ready, make we help you consult them on wetin dey wan collect, so you can bring it, make we help you buy the sacrifice items...😁

Yes nah.. basically for Japaul and Ellah but can also be for conhall and mbenefit though I'm not heavily invested in them... In all honesty I bought because of the huge 2024 profit and expectation of hefty dividend. Not looking likely in the light of retained earnings

Nigerians generally like Ponzi schemes.
They want something that can turn around their money to double or triple in a short term.
If another ponzi scheme hits town today, you'll wonder if we do learn from past mistakes.

There's another one SEC is warning Nigerians about again, pray we listen........ They said "TOFRO.COM, that they should beware.

stocks and fixed income cannot give them the kind of returns they’re looking for with their capital base.

The truth is that they just refuse to subject themselves to the pain of investment knowledge. Stocks can also double or triple your money in a reasonable amount of time if you have put in the works

Happy workers' Day!. Take time out to celebrate your journey. You deserve it : :
Here is mine
My investment journey has been a marathon, and I've learned valuable lessons along the way. As a student of legendary investors like Peter Lynch and Warren Buffett, I've read over 50 best-selling books on investing. One key takeaway that has guided my strategy is Warren Buffett's advice: "Never buy a stock that you're not ready to own forever." This principle has been instrumental in shaping my portfolio on both the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
During the challenging period of the Donald Trump tariff war in April 2025(Black days of massive sell off) my portfolio faced significant losses, and I had no new funds to invest. I took a step back, and focused on the local market. Today, days after my birthday, I decided to review my portfolio, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it had recovered from a loss of $22,000 to a gain of over $19,000. I also noticed that my portfolio had surpassed the $100,000 mark, a milestone that indicates a diversified portfolio can rebalance itself even without new investments.
The old adage "Sell in May" seems outdated, as investors now prioritise fundamentally healthy companies and adopt a long-term approach. As the saying goes, "Never kill the goose that lays the golden egg." The principle of delay gratification 👍.
My portfolio's growth from bar $116 to over +$19,000 (May 1st 2024 to 1st May 2025) in gains is a testament to the power of long-term investing. A similar trend is evident in my NGX portfolio, where the gains appear sustainable.
I believe that long-term investing triumphs over short-term gains.
To fellow investors, I say, stay committed to your strategy and focus on the fundamentals (If marrying the fundamental is possible, don't hesitate)
May our investments continue to flourish, and may we reap the rewards of our hard work, and may the fruit of Tinubunomics reforms (T-pain) turn to T-gain in our lifetime. Amen.
Well done bro for the resilience, it must have taken an emotional/mental rollercoaster for you not to at some point cut losses while in a 20k drawdown. You know the nuances of your portfolio however consider taking some profit, 1/3 or 1/4 ...whatever...and decide maybe to leave the rest till thy kindgom comes........or at some other interval. Its only until you sell that you make money else its paper money..

Not everyone would need the money. It's a means of saving for some people and leaving the portfolio for a decent long term run like 10 years could be very magical, provided the business remains quality

Thanks, bra! As an investor, I'm fundamentally committed to my portfolio. During the April 8 sell-off, I found solace in knowing I wasn't alone – it was a global downturn. Meanwhile, my NGX portfolio was thriving. I believe that what goes down must come up, and I'm even hoping for another NYSE sell-off so I can deploy my NGX dividends strategically.

To you, it's hopeville, to me it's an investment that have higher chances of making me a billionaire, it may take time to happen but the chances of it happening is higher.

Remember buffet statement, if you buy what is popular often time, you wouldn't do well enough.

I have done the physical DD of the farm via a Friend and we like what we see n are ready to wait it out.

Ellahlakes looks like hopeville now but many will be surprised very soon.

Loco calls on multiverse comes to mind, people are still trapped, loco is trader an investor must avoid his calls.

Agba, boys are still expecting gt at 5, I hope it will still happen, I I'll also stake my gain from ellahlakes to buy that one too.
grin grin grin
I believe in ellahlakes too.
I will position there next week for 1 million units for long term.
I believe they will spring up between now and 2027-2028.

Thanks for the support! I've noticed that the S&P 500, NASDAQ 100, and Berkshire Hathaway tend to self-correct over time. Similarly, the individual components of my portfolio, particularly the Magnificent 7, are also showing signs of recovery. For me, a profitable outcome would be one that allows me to afford a luxury asset, such as a duplex in Banana Island.

I watched a Ponzi scheme (addy fx) on donaza youtube channel and I was even shocked that the company was approved by sec. I don't believe Nigerians are gullible, they are just greedy.

When you look at the amount of money investors lose on Ponzi scheme, you will marvel on the special nature of Nigerians.
