Only Gen z do stuffs like that. Even when they had network glitches that made transaction impossible, I still maintained my 18yr old account with them.
There are more Gen Z than Gen X.

Might be unrelated but does it mean you're encouraging mediocrity and corporate 'anyhowness'? If not, of what use is the account if, using your own words, transactions are made impossible?

What happened is this as stated on page 11of the financial statement

Basic earnings per share are calculated by dividing the profit for the year attributable to shareholders by the weighted average number of ordinary shares in issue during the year.

The calculation of basic earnings per share as at 31stMarch2025 was based on the profit attributable to ordinary shareholders and weighted average number of ordinary shares outstanding:

The figure circled in yellow was what was used to calculate the EPS which was then annualized

35,800,740 / 17, 858,502 = 2.004689

Annualized 2.004689 * 4 = 8.0188 approx. to 8.02

l am still trying to understand the factor that they used to arrive at the weighted average. They have been using this method. l went back to review last year's quarterly financial statement and l noticed this same patten was used to calculated and arrive at EPS for each quarter which was then annualized
In other words, something must be right or CBN, external auditors, all the egg heads in Wema etc., must be wrong to approve year end 24.

Can anyone please explain to me as to why after buying some shares via afrinvestor and they returned back my money even after receiving x-alert for the shares.

l only try to give some more clarification. There is nothing wrong .Weighted average number of ordinary shares outstanding is a known and recognised method

Like I said, I have banked with them 18yrs. Nothing of such happened in those years. Other banks had similar software upgrade issues same period although theirs was worse. So a glitch that lasted less that 3months or under 6months isn't enough to close an account for me. Not speaking to the issue at hand with VDM and his mother.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan may have just dealt a blow to her own credibility after publicly claiming she doesn’t know Dr. Sandra C. Duru—despite mounting evidence suggesting otherwise.

In a fiery Facebook livestream on May 1st, Dr. Duru, also known online as “Prof. Mgbeke,” exposed alleged voice recordings and WhatsApp chats linked to a phone number registered to Senator Natasha. Truecaller identification and the familiar voice in the clips make the denial all the more baffling.

“How can she say she doesn’t know me when her own number called me and we chatted at length?” Duru asked, presenting screenshots and audio as proof.

The leaked content allegedly shows Senator Natasha attempting to rope Duru into backing a damaging and fabricated organ harvesting accusation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Despite Natasha’s post claiming she didn’t know Duru, the evidence suggests otherwise. In the calls, the Senator allegedly:

Offered N200 million to Duru to participate in a fake organ harvesting allegation.

Admitted to paying Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, FIDA, and others to create media noise and legal pressure, going to obstruct the Senate Committee proceedings.

Outlined her anti-Tinubu agenda, plotting with opposition figures to destabilize the current government.

Begged Duru to “just support the cause”, even when Duru declined.

Shifted into romantic advances after being rejected politically, sending flirty and inappropriate messages in a bid to win her over personally.

Truecaller showed the number as Natasha’s. Her voice was unmistakable. Screenshots of their private chats reveal long threads of manipulation, emotional blackmail, and power games.

“You can’t fake all this,” Duru said. “She called me, begged, bribed, confessed, and when I refused, she turned around and denied ever knowing me? That’s cowardice and treachery.”

If true, it not only discredits her but exposes a disturbing level of manipulation.

With mounting public scrutiny, Natasha’s blanket denial looks more like calculated deceit than an honest mistake. As Duru aptly put it: “You can’t discredit someone holding all the receipts.”

Fair enough.

I would however assume you have other bank accounts. If not, 3 to 6 months of such problems is going to be disastrous.

During those periods of bank software issues, banks like Stanbic and nearly all the PSBs and MFBs were working well.

As for VDM and co, I don't wade in cheesy

In those days I thought Ellah Lakes was a cluster of fish ponds. Perhaps because of the word 'Lakes'. Ellah had remained an infant stock since then.

When Chams appeared, I thought it was a chain of Cybercafes.
I cautioned myself, "I hope you've not come to the stock market to invest in Cybercafes".

I started taking chams seriously when it became associated with the national identity card project. I don't know what has become of that.

I feel safer badmouthing chams now that Loco and his e-thugs have disowned it. grin grin

Just musing out for your weekend pleasure. grin

Even when Innoson had a case with the bank. Some said Innoson was going to take over the bank, others said south easterners will close their accounts. I never remember how the case ended. My point is nobody will fight your fight for you.

Lesson learnt: If you are experiencing any challenge, strive to see how you get out of it. In this clime nobody is ready to fight your fight grin grin grin

Not gtbank that got him arrested but probably alerted (allegedly) and tipped off EFCC that he was on their premises.. I understand (I stand to be corrected) that there was an pending arrest warrant against him, issued by a judge

In 2014, #2m was $10k @ $1 = #197
If you had invested the 2m in ngx stocks at an average rate of 30% per annum returns (plus dividends and bonuses), that money would be #27.2m in 2024
That #2m will be #40.2m @ 35% average returns in 10 years
The same $10k dollars would have been #32.5m in 2024 @ 7% rate per annum in dollar fund @1,650 per dollar
A 50/50 exposure of your portfolio to naira/dollars investment would have returned between #30m - #36m in that same period.
The basic thing is that a return of minimum 30% per annum on your investment in naira investment will just do fine and a blend of both to be conservative.
