➜You can only say it was leaked if you have evidence guests were barred from recording the event and posting it online. Yes , there have been some private parties where guests were prevented from using their phones to capture anything going on. And if the celebrant was the one who posted it online , would you still call it "leaked"
? You should probably look up the word's application before responding next time. The fact that a function is private makes all that pertains to it private. To move any of the contents from that private space into the public space is to leak the particular content. lipsrsealed

➜Why are you so belittle and have inferiority complex,
➜ what has living in Lagos has to do with this,
➜ we are condemning this immorality in totality and you are here defending thrash, does that means walking naked is also fashion now
Belittle? I belittled no one but merely set out to point out the fact that these events are removed from the life and realities of 10s of millions who think it their place to comment or dictate regarding what goes on in those sorts of places, events that are not even of the criminal kind

2. It has a lot since it is not your culture or your place to comment on. undecided

3. You are instead belittling their lifestyle and attempting to impose your inferiority complex issues on others. These people are comfortable with their bodies and so have no problem showing them off. You, on the other hand, probably come from a culture where you are fed tales that your bodies need to be covered out of shame— your ancestors walked around naked, more than just a fashion statement but a lifestyle.

➜Private party thrown in our faces via social media? Are you saying other "private" guests were pre-informed that they were going to see the bride's breasts as a side show?
➜ While no law explicitly mentions "breasts," various statutes address indecent acts and exposure, which can encompass such behavior, including the criminal code (Southern Nigeria), section 231, it criminalizes any willful indecent act in public without lawful excuse and is punishable by up to two years' imprisonment. If you are familiar with the VAPP Act (2015), section 26 also addresses indecent exposure! It defines indecent exposure as intentionally exposing genital organs or a substantial part thereof with the intent to cause distress or induce another to commit an offense! I'm sure you will throw a fit if any guest attends the"private" party with his balls hanging out of his trousers or only the tip of his penis covered! undecided
1. Social media is an opt-in system, not a platform that forces anything on you. undecided

2. I am all for people knowing what their law says, but I guess I also have to add here that you ensure you comprehend what it says. For instance, those criminal codes you quoted cannot be used against a stripper in a night club or a mentally ill naked man or woman on the streets. Do you know? Do you understand why? undecided

You want to pretend you don't know that it's the context in which a word is used that determines its actual meaning and not just the dictionary entry of it?

In this instance, leak is not the appropriate word.

If the event, which you have personally described as private, was posted online by the celebrant or other guests for the whole world to view it without her complaining, it wasn't leaked but a public event she wanted announced publicly . Outside this, it was leaked .

If you disagree ,then every single video you have watched online was ", leaked"

Yes, that should be the right word from your reasoning.

BTW, I never said if a party is private everything about it must be private. You were the one who said so

Why are you people so sadistic that you would go as far as to demand people be denied their joy for the sake of your meaningless private prejudices and biases? undecided

You guys are just being dramatic... There's no one on this earth who has never seen breasts before, even children play with them.
Greattha:
To each his own.

As long as the couple is united on this, its no one's business really.

Kanye flaunted his new Bae stack naked so heck...then again, he hasn't married her so🤔

Look at it this way: the same reason a man can cheat on his wife but won't accept another man touching her is why some men are criticizing. A side Bae can do this but not a wife...warped as it may sound.

The question is can you rock this in public?

For some, there's a limit.

Ladies rock bikinis in summer so no biggie but the classy ones are rarely half/fully naked in public.

I personally like the outfit except for the bottom part of the bre@sts showing...limit.

If it is not a criminal offence, then it is a moral offence. No religion teaches you that unclothedness in public is your choice.

I completely agree that understanding the law is just as important as knowing what it says—and that’s precisely why context matters. Of course, no reasonable person would interpret the criminal code to apply to someone who is mentally ill or acting without intent, like the examples you gave. But that’s a different situation entirely from a fully conscious adult making a deliberate choice to appear nearly nude at a publicized event.

Let’s be clear: when a so-called “private” party is broadcast on social media, it ceases to be private in the legal and moral sense—it becomes public content. That changes the dynamics significantly, especially when cultural and legal norms are flouted in full view of a wider audience.

You're right that the law doesn't specifically mention "breasts," but it does refer to indecent exposure—and the law is deliberately broad there for a reason. Section 231 of the Criminal Code (Southern Nigeria) and Section 26 of the VAPP Act (2015) both target acts that could cause distress or influence others toward unlawful behavior. Whether it's a woman with her breasts out or a man with his genitals exposed, the standard should be the same. So yes, I would absolutely object to anyone—male or female—showing up to such an event with their private parts on display.

The goal isn't to police personal choices, but to remind people that actions have societal implications—especially when shared publicly.

1. Where is the statement in bold stated in the Criminal Code you quote, or any other for that matter? undecided

2. You are still not making any sense, given that the codes you keep quoting continue to insist that this only applies when the exposure occurs in the public space. undecided

3. Again, if you don't understand why those codes insist on a separation between private and public space, may I suggest you dive deep into why it does so. undecided

At this point, I’m no longer interested in continuing this back-and-forth, especially when reason and clarity are being ignored. I’m done engaging with you. Your deliberate distortion of facts and refusal to acknowledge reason expose a level of ignorance I have no interest in entertaining. I won’t waste my time on a conversation that’s clearly built on bad faith. This ends here.
