Good afternoon, esteemed professionals and experts in the house,

My wife and I recently got married in Nigeria. She currently resides and works in the UK with a Graduate Visa, while I am in Nigeria.

Kindly note that she had no dependants when she initially travelled to the UK for her studies. As such, I am currently unable to join her as a dependant due to the restrictions tied to the Graduate Visa, of which she has already completed one year out of the 2 years

We are seeking your advice on the most practical and legal pathways for me to join her in the UK, as we intend to start and raise our family there.

As an option, we are also considering the possibility of me applying for a student visa, with her acting as my dependant and sponsor. This would potentially extend her stay while giving us time to explore a suitable visa route once her Graduate Visa expires.

We would greatly appreciate your insights, experiences, or suggestions on how best to proceed.

She needs to get a job sponsorship sir, or you can apply for MRes study.

It’s possible, I have two course mate that usually come from London, they will come in on Thursday and sleep in York, then to go back to London on Friday after lectures. It’s possible if you have money for Train.

Yes there is. They have one for 20£ per night and also another one 25£ per night, someone mentioned one that is 15£ per but she said it’s a little bit far from school. Also as time goes on if you make friends with people that stay in York, you can sleep over at their place. Some people also stay in the library over night, but they won’t be able to sleep so it’s not easy.

Is it advisable to pay tuition deposit once received unconditional offer or wait till after Pre CAS interview?

University of Wolverhampton thou, that sch seems to have received an overwhelming application, hence my fear.

We just got unconditional offer late April for September intake, meanwhile we applied for May intake but was deferred to sept.

and have mailed them like 3 times to schedule pre CAS interview but they said we should wait as they were working on doing that this month

My fear is, time dey go bro
And I heard some people had even made deposit while still on conditional offer oo

Any possibility for sept intake? Or make we just zero mind and put trust for January?

To make matters worse, their Nigeria Representative is not even responding to calls, chat or mail.

My advise is that you explore other options because the que for Wolverhampton is quite long just so you are not dissapointed in the end.one of my students is currently waiting for unconditional letter after paying deposit since February and was later deferred to sept and till now no unconditional offer letter so I had to make other arrangements so he won’t be disappointed in the end…

We applied also for May intake but was deferred to sept intake.

While we had conditional offer all along, it didn't even crossed my mind to make payment at all cos at some point they kept requesting for Another personal statement upon another.

It was until April 28th that they finally sent my unconditional offer, so for now we are waiting for pre CAS interview.

Why I asked was because, upon checking my application status tab via e-vision, I saw that we are to pay the deposit now.

So am just kinda confused. Will attach it now.

I got an admission to UK school through PGCE as a physics teacher and It has been confirmed that I am eligible to 29,000 pounds bursary which will be paid for 10 months installment by the UK government (2900 per month). Now the school that offered me a place based on the bursary reduced my initial deposit from 50% to 25% which is 4000 pounds, approximately 8m naira. The school is starting tis sept 2025 and I have to pay the deposit by May in order to process my visa. The problem now is that I don't have 8m to pay for deposit. Please if anyone knows where I can get loan based on this I will surely pay back as soon as I start collecting the bursary or any other information on how I can go through this will be appreciated. This is a golden opportunity and I don't want it pass me by.

You can use your sponsors account as long as it bears the same surname…you can go ahead and use your sponsors account.

Oh I’m just seeing your brother now,probably didn’t read it well…you can transfer the funds to your own account as long you’re 18 and above and then use your account but you can’t use your brothers account,only your parents or a joint account stating your guardian/sponsor,I hope this helps

Only your parents can sponsor you for visa.

You can't use a sibling. Let him transfer it to your account.

No you can not use your brother’s bank account as he can not sponsor you. He can move the money to your account. Your father & mother can sponsor you.
