I'm not sure I agree with your advice. The stock market has a way of humbling even the most confident investors. With profit traps lurking around every corner, it's essential to stay vigilant and adapt to changing market conditions. Let's focus on making informed decisions and managing risk.
if you really want to make money is stock you must first be patient, personally for me its 50% patience, 40% right entry, 10% trade management ...the rest is profit ...the hardest part is the first.

I guess you are right. No man knows tomorrow, after all I bought the first public offer of Guaranty TrustBank@ N5 but, was only able to buy few units. Who will believe the same GTB will be selling for as much as N70 a few years later.
The ipo of gtbank was #10.90 and zenith 10.60.When did you buy for #5. Zenith later touched #70.i bought 20k units of each

Thanks for the correction. But, I think you are mixing the two up. GTB was N10.60k while Zenith Bank was N10.90k in the year 2004. grin
The one I was talking about was the very first offering of GTB in 1996.

I'm confused on whether to go with oando, but even I know thats a big gamble, hopefully it falls very quickly and very steeply too, and perhaps that would be the best time to buy. But something tells me oando will hit 350 in 5 years
Don't be confused, but beware of Oando, with that your 5-year plan.
Oando right now has monster DILUTION breathing down it's neck, and nobody knows how it might affect your buy-and-hold plan.

Oando at the moment is a game that ninja jijoists play, holding the computer mouse by the right hand and an exit plan by the left. grin

Streetinvestor2, I have gone through my archives. I know what am saying the very first public offering of GTB was in 2001. It was for 500,000,000 ordinary shares of 50k each at N5.10k. I could only afford 1000 units then. The time you bought at N10.60k was year 2004. Please, you can Google this. Thanks.

Nothing hidden. N5100 in 1996 was big money for me to invest in a thousand unit of GTB.

Please you are getting me wrong. I only doff my cap for Agbalowomeri as he is corroborating my first statement which Mr Streetinvestor2 was trying to disprove.

Dilution does not fear us again. If iB with over 160billion has given us over 150%.what is the present os compared to banks even if they are in different sector. The important thing na good revenue that will reflect well on the bottom line.
When the company stabilize. They will do reconstruction which doe not after the price down word much like transcorp plc

Oga Johnnysessy, you are only talking about the current price. When you consider the several bonus shares that were being distributed like free akara after the capitalisation exercise during the regime of President Obasanjo, you see the multiples of that NGN70 per share.
