You guys have a flawed view of Northerners. I was once like that until I worked with one. They marry the younglings for sexual pleasure and procreation. Sometimes the girls grow and run away. Some stay. Some kill the man.

The divorce rate in the North is HIGH.
No woman is left single amongst them, that is why you don't notice. They can marry up to 3x at 40 and it is not a big deal.
