We said it earlier that any bear affecting the banking sector will go round.
The situation is even better than I thought.
I remember when sanisi was CBN governor. He brought his "risk management" background to the sector leading to overregulation of the sector.
Each policy of his that affected the sector had an all round effect until he finally took over some of those banks.
Thebgood thing about his was that he named and categorised banks. We knew the strong once and thise that were struggling...

No wonder, the oil marketers are panicking, holding meetings, and painting all sorts of doomsday scenarios if Dangote is allowed to set up his fuel distribution system.
Yeah the monopoly will be extra-ordinary until BUA completes his own refinery....these two guys go hold naija wella--see cement/food!
Shame on nnpc with four refineries!!
Anyways somehow things will work out for the masses cool

[quote author=KarlTom post=135785727]Dangote makes scale look like child’s play; Man just dropped $250 million on 4,000 CNG trucks like he was shopping for snacks. To put it in perspective, the combined fleet of Nigeria’s top seven downstream players doesn’t even come close. The guy’s playing chess, major moves.

Reduced the import of refined crude and increased the import of crude itself.

The USA and Uk will never allow us enjoy our oil. They are our distributor of refined oil and also our customers for crude oil.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mankind2024: 5:06am On Jun 18, 2025
Most crude oil-exporting countries also import crude oil, so Nigeria isn't an exception. This practice is common among major oil producers, often due to factors like refining specific types of crude or meeting domestic demand for particular products.

But if we give Dangote our crude, it would still reduce our exports of crude especially when we give him in naira. Don’t forget that Dangote mostly imports WTI from the U.S which is a cheaper crude, so when you add logistics, the prices are almost the same or still even slightly cheaper than when he buys the expensive Bonny Light from NNPC or Chevron.

However, I think the major reason NNPC can’t supply Dangote as much as we would expect for now is the issue of the forward sales contracts which are estimated to be around 300k bpd currently. NNPC and the Federation together doesn’t have more than 750k bpd from the 1.45 million bpd we currently produce. This means they may only have around 450k bpd left to give Dangote and also export. Servicing Dangote alone requires 650k bpd.

Dangote can buy from IOC’s in Nigeria and the new indigenous players but I think the deal to buy some parts of the crude in naira is only possible with NNPC for now.

Warren Buffett Earns $2.2M Daily from Coca-Cola Investment 🥤💸

Warren Buffett’s long-term bet on Coca-Cola is still paying off, big time. Through Berkshire Hathaway, he owns 400 million shares, worth over $25 billion. 📈

Thanks to Coke’s $2.04 per-share dividend, Buffett is earning around $2.23 million every single day, adding up to $816 million a year just from dividends.

Buffett, who drinks 5 cans of Coke a day, has called it one of his best investments. It’s a perfect example of the power of PATIENCE in investing

IOCs have scheduled use for their crude. Most of them have refining interests across the globe and need the crude to service them. They also have a long standing customers and contracts.

That is not to talk about selling the refined products, Dangote retail programme is monstrous and a killer, NIgerians will be better for it though.

The circle contnues, the era of sitting back is almost over in business, you've got to be dynamic and innovative.

Doesn't the PIA mandate the IOCs to sell first to local refiners? When will that come into effect?

Humm, most likely the same reason NNPCL that is goivernment owned was unable to sell to local refiners; they might have contracted it out or borrowed against it for a couple of years, maybe with new bookings the PIA demand may be in place.

The nature of the business is book and buy today for future delivery which most times, is a minimum of 3 months ahead or even years.

Analyst Ugodre is confident that Zenith Bank has the capacity’ to clear the forbearance H1 2025 (this month) or latest Q3 2025 if they want to, due to their large net assets and profits.
