Hello all

Thank God for a thread like this.

I have 5-6 years of experience working as a surveyor. But my first three years, I was working as a part time worker, and salary was paid by cash. There was no form of tax paid or anything to show that I worked for three years as a surveyor.

Anybody have similar experience as to what I can do to include this in my application. I have BSc in survey and geoinformatics

Claim only that 3 years as a surveyor, that all you can do with your "Skilled" Assessment.
Aim for higher points in the English Test.
And if very very fluent in Igbo and Yoruba , try NAATI to supplement points

I'll appreciate any input from those who have seen how the tax clearance document is for employee.
Hello Chief, which of the tax offices were you able to get this option of self assessment? I am in the same boat as you are, and when an enquiry was made at the tax office in Ikorodu, they told me I would be assessed as self employment.

There is Primary healthcare manager pathway if you have experience in primary health care. There is also a Medical administrator pathway for CMDs or those who have experience leading their hospitals.

About applying through the education route, it’s extremely expensive I’m hoping there’s some level of certainty if everything’s prepared properly. Out of 10 what do you think are you chances if fees and every monetary issue is covered properly
If you are above 35, education is not attractive anymore because the Government no longer grants post study visa to those above 35 years old.

To buy time, you will do Masters and then proceed to PhD till you can finalise PR or other work visa.

Thanks for replying, the whole process is handled by my agent. And that was what he told me, that it should be out within 6 weeks, which has elapsed
No agent has control over visa approval or when it will be approved. Telling you within 6 weeks is out of place. It doesn't mean it will not be approved within the timeframe but letting you know that he is giving you a timeline over what he doesn't have control.

Thank you so much for the insight about Australia visa.

I'm an Occupational Therapist with 7years experience. I really wish to migrate to Australia. It has been my dream far back and now , I can't help it because it stresses me that I'm not yet in Australia.

I have few questions to ask
I intend to apply for visa 491.
1. where should I start(like what and what do I need to start, all the necessary documents)
2. Do I need to do Australia registration (OTC amd AHPRA) before applying for this visa?

Thanks[quote][/quote]

You will have to study the step-by-step on the first page of this thread. It has everything you need to proceed.

To answer your questions:
1. You will need an English language test certificate (either IELTS or PTE...). For a comprehensive study material and lectures, you can reach out to me below for help.
2. You will need a skills assessment

tunlex01:
1. Payslip and bank statement are enough for ACS assessment. You will need to provide for each employer.
Bank statement - you will need to provide for ALL the years covering your salary payment.
Payslip - 4 per year (1 per quarter) will be good for each of the year
Must have 2 payment evidence for all the 6 years. (please count the dates (including dys/month) and ensure they are 6 or more years.

2. Your bachelors and masters in a related course will get the experience requirement reduced to 2 years (if the masters is considered AQF masters) or 2 or 4 years (if the Vietnam masters is considered AQF Bachelors or Graduate diploma)
Your previous experience will still count apart from the usual deduction of 2 or 4 depending on the AQF of the new masters.
Hi boss, I’m back again.

So, I started a Master’s program at a renowned Nigerian university in 2021, which I had to pause due to travel. I was originally expected to graduate in 2022. I’ve since discussed with the school, and I’m currently back on the program. I’m on track to complete it in 2026.

Also, my wife and I have agreed that she will complete her BSc in Public Health in Nigeria (she had earlier transferred to pursue Nursing here). She’s also expected to finish in 2026.

We’ve both written the IELTS exam. By the time we complete our studies in 2026, I’ll be 30 years old, and she’ll be 23.

By then, I’ll also have completed 2 years of verifiable work experience.

Our updated profiles by 2026:

My Profile:
• MSc in Computer Science
• 2 years of verifiable work experience as a DevOps Engineer
• IELTS score: 8.5 across all four bands
• Age: 30 (in 2026)

My Wife’s Profile:
• BSc in Public Health
• IELTS score: 7.0 across all four bands
• Age: 23 (in 2026)
• No work experience

Question:
With this profile by 2026, what are our chances for immigration?

@tunlex01 Thanks for doing a great job attending to other people's issues. May God reward you beyond your imaginations.

I will like to know our best option for Australia skilled immigration:

Me:
Academics: [/b]HND in electrical engineering, MBA in international business
[b]IELTS:
No
Work Experience: I have only been into business of agricultural machinery equipment, diesel engines and their spare parts for generators. I have the company registered. I have never worked as a salary earner. I have some data analysis/science skills but never worked professionally with the skill.

My Spouse:
Academics: BSC, MSc and Phd in View all in animal science/physiology
IELTS: General: 7.5 Academics: 8.0
Work Experience: She has not really worked in her field as a salary earner but had managed a small poultry farm and had done N-Power farm programme but payslip is not available. She is a registered member of animal science association of Nigeria. She has a registered business name for her farm and we have been running the account for over a year.

Here are my questions:
1. Can we use academic IELTS?
2. How do we approach skill assessment?
3. Who has the better chance of being assessed positively?

Thanks for your response

ahhh...am I supposed to know na?
Currently IT is competitive and if you are not hitting 85-100 points for 491, the chances are slim.

Not really. Admin manager is not on the list except he can find a related occupation he can nominate.

Your first option is to find occupation(s) you can nominate.

Guide to check your occupation and ANZSCO code:
From a laptop/desktop

Visit https://www.anzscosearch.com/search/
You may need to register on the website to view the details below
Desktop:
1. Select ‘Lists’ at the top of the webpage.
2. Click 'Skilled Occupation List'
3. You will see about 500 occupations on the list.
4. Keep scrolling till you find occupation(s) that align to what you do.
5. Click the 6 digits ‘ANZSCO' code on the left. It will load the full page
6. Select 'ANZSCO' and scroll to tasks.
7. Check if the tasks relate to what you do.

Mobile device
Click the hamburger icon (3 horizontal lines)
Select 'Lists' > 'Lists 2023-24' > Skilled Occupation List
Follow steps 3-7 above.

You may find more than 1 occupation.
Revert here with the occupation(s) and the Anzsco code(s)

Yes you do qualify.
You can apply as a Teacher. but in what field only you know.
You have a degree in Education, which is what the teaching field requires.
and you also have one year teaching practice.
And Teachers are in high demand.

Thank you.
Just to note the teaching practice was for 6 weeks in 300level and another 6 weeks in 400 level.
So after positive assessment, I can pick another teaching field apart from geography?
I also checked the assessing authority for middle school and secondary ANZO codes, AITLS only accepts ietls academic in band 8 not PTE, omo.
