Boy, I clicked the 'like' to this your post for your sweet communication rather than for your seriousness in seeking for information.

Get back to your father who is alive, well and young judging by the bolded and your stated age of 20.

I'm sure he has all these answers you want and more, beginning with the name of the actual shares he bought for you.

It sounds as if you think that First Reg is a stock. It is not even a Stockbroker, let alone a Stock.
in fact, I had clicked 'submit' before it occured to me that since you call yourself winningeleven, you may be trying to dribble past your father to go and win this one.

Beware o, the man could be one of these game masters here.

When he wants you to take over your shares he will hand over the details to you.

You can't be far from the truth. In this our country there is nothing that happens that comes as a surprise. One or two people could just decide to say something to crash the price of stocks for their selfish interest. I guess they loaded enough and the prices is stabilizing. Just creating panic and fear when there is none because of their privilege position, so as to take advantage. I call that inside information.

Good afternoon all. Please I have a question. My late dad got us Daar Communications shares since 2008(I have the evidential documents). I was a minor then. Please how and where can I confirm my records? I know the company's shares is less than a naira and has not declared dividend since then. I just need to confirm if my records as a shareholder is still active. First registrars have not responded to my email of enquiry yet.

Is the document with you a share certificate or a purchase/buy contract note?

If it is a share certificate you can take it to a stockbroker to dematerialize it. But my advice to you is not to waste any money in the dematerialization because at the moment the company is a liability and not an equity!

If it is a purchase contract note you have, just locate the office of the stockbroker so that when there is a demand for Daar Communication stocks you can sell it.

If you're not currently investing, this is the best time to start.Register with a digital stockbroker like Morgan Capital and start buying good dividend paying stocks like Zenith Bank,UBA,Access Bank, et cetera.

Looks like First Bank will be the Last Bank to respond to the CBN circular. I am surprised Ote$ doesn't care about the price of his stock.

The document I have is the purchase receipt and filled form showing the number of shares and issuing houses. The thing is I am not sure if my Dad sold the shares off when it started crashing back then as i was a minor then. I just want to know if the shares are still there or they have been sold off. Thank you for your reply...I just started my stock investment journey with Bua and others.

You know this folk is a newbie like myself;so, excellent or good dividend paying stocks are the best investment to start with.

First Bank is not an excellent dividend paying company at the moment.

Wahala...😁😁

Well, if you think you ain't comfortable with the major shareholders selling their indirect shares, you can offload your shares as well. I have no insider information on why they are selling.
However, people sell their shares for different reasons and there is over 50% increase in the price of the stock from the beginning of this year.

I bought Caverton shares based on their q1 2025 result and I look forward to their q2 result to reevaluate my decision.

From the statement 'issuing houses',I think what you have is a share certificate. The stock price is currently 60 Kobo. For the now, don't bother to dematerialize it.If it appreciates in price in the future, you can then dematerialize and sell it.

It is good you have started your investment journey with BUA Foods. BUA is a good profit making and a dividend paying company.

Ote cares more about the stock price((GEREGU is a good example).

He can take First Bank to 100 Naira, remember he is a FORBES billionaire.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 3:58pm On Jun 18, 2025
Possibly a result of the threats of Iran about mining/blocking the Strait of Hormuz AND the show of military might by US. grin

US Defence Sec, Pete Hegseth, said on Monday night that he had “directed the deployment of additional capabilities” to US Central Command in the Middle East, an exercise he said was “to enhance our defensive posture in the region”

Presently USS Nimitz joins the USS Carl Vinson carrier, which is already operating relatively close to Iran, around the Arabian Sea (that's two carrier strike groups) as well as at least 11 warships all operating near the Persian Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean and Arabia Sea axis.

This confluence of war machinery is very unusual for someone 'not involved' in the war

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom:
I advice that the dematerialization be done immediately.

Brokers charge about 0.5% of the value (or a flat fee of up to ₦10,000) so the process might not cost much considering the current SP...

Also you never can tell there might be an opportunity to sell and the brokers start with their frustrating delays wink
