Ellah closed green with over 100m worth transacted, small money but considering their previous daily volume its a signal that one man's food is another man's poison. We go again tomorrow. This 3ton mill must do 3x returns at the minimum before end of the year grin
It will rally when oil mill production announcement is made

Why do you think CBN asked them to go and raise capital, you think it’s truly because of $1trn economy. This is part of the reason.

I don't agree that Zenith still has such exposure and are confident to clear max H1.
I trillion is not beans
@Sunrisepebble is perhaps right. It's been on the RENCAP news on nairametrics..
Someone even posted the link on this thread few days ago. About $910million in one nairametrics link and another $1.6bn in another.

If cbn is not being fraudulent. After collecting the gains this banks made from revaluation they are talking all this rubbish. Why didn't they tell the banks to use the gains from forex to take care of this loan and others since they didn't allow shareholders benefit from it.
The man at cbn is just another mismatch for the job.He deserve to be sacked.
I agree... Why not use forex one off gain and clear half of not all of the exposure..

To even recall the forex forfeiture ti FG was moved from 30% to 70% by NASS is unfortunate..

I still blame the banks a bit, they could have voiced out in unison using this forbearance skeleton in their cupboard as a legitimate excuse to cut down the 70% windfall request before surrendering.

Perhaps some of the news are just junks from the analysts. Zenith has booked the heaviest loan loss impairments over the last three years of N1.2 Trillion.
2022 N123 b
2023 N410 b
2024 N659 b

I will believe what Zenith says that in less than 2 weeks it ain't got any issue that will hold back Interim dividend payment come September 2025

I thought the Zenith impairments were crazy before the CBN circular. Now it doesn't look that crazy again.

I do not know why no one is talking about UBA on this forbearance issue. Even the bank has not deemed it fit to make any publication.

What is the position of UBA on this issue

I saw a nairametrics analyst say they may likely clear theirs by end of this year.

abi. Oga try looking at transnational Corporation(transcorp) conglomerate discount. Think there is a huge opportunity there. They will receive up to 32 billion in dividend income and management fee from their subsidiaries. This real earnings not like that of last year with sales of shares.

Ote cares more about the stock price((GEREGU is a good example).

He can take First Bank to 100 Naira, remember he is a FORBES billionaire.
that hard in banking. He is after buying assets of debtors through backdoor at discounted prices from banks.

No need to push SP and I don't see that happening soon. E get as them take dey trade this Access despite their good balance sheet. Last year the market felt they are stingy with dividend....if they pay up to N3 dividend in total this year, keep accumulating below N25

I find it funny that people really think they’d issue the circular just so they can buy at lower prices. Really, over 10-15% gain?
The issues have existed since Meffy and with a new sheriff in town who is by the book, he’s exposing a lot of the nonsense that was going on there. I think that relationship with Meffy is why Zenith have such a huge Stage 2 exposure, was probably letting them get away with a lot of things.
I am equally surprised that many will think the cbn has taken this noble action that will eventually lead to stronger banks just because they wanted to crash banks share prices.

What is your proposition on these, is it to take position? knowing forebearance may affect it stand on dividend distribution, or you just follow the money.

The bulk of that expected dividend would have come from UBA? but with this forbearance issue, that one don carry k-leg already.

no. Just around 2 billion. It charging 5% on subsidiary net profit before tax(estimated 5% 200billion forward earnings), then 74% of transcorp hotel dividend declared, 51% of transcorp power dividend declared.

. The company is undervalued based on the aggregated value of it subsidiary but it might take time to correct that value discrepancies. Market in the long run is a weighing machine. Can just try to check what value is stocked there. Not giving buying or selling guidance am not a professional advisor. Enthusiasts only. But it conglomerate discount is wide around 80%. Should be around N100 on my rough estimate. The market valuing it on dividend payment. They can't pay dividend until all there subsidiaries pay. On my ideas my waiting may take 24months.

I guess Oando may be strategizing!
They may want June 30 (the next qualifying date for share redistribution) to pass before they release any good news (which may help to sustain the price going forward).

Just my guess; I may be wrong, though.
