1. At the mercy of algorithms (this is why your chances are super slim from making it as a content creator)

2. At the mercy of Indians willing to work $100 job for just $0.25

And even if you start up a business (physical business) —I'm not here to demoralize you—but there's a 90% chance it'll fail, especially in Nigeria.

I've been a computer programmer for like a decade an half, and I've also been a freelance writer. But I can't even tell you to "learn to code" or learn how to write anymore. Freelance writing peaked in 2021. It's toast now. I've dropped that because all my current platforms that paid serious money back in the day...no work anymore. It's either AI or Indians, I'm sure.

What is saving me right now is that I'm a programmer, and I'm creative. I have several services running online where users subscribe (NOTE that my profit isn't coming from stupid shiiiit like Adsence/mob. It's from actual subscribers). As bad as things are, there are still innumerable things humans haven't come up with if you think about it. If you're creative (as in think shiiiit out of nothing), then I'll advise you to LEARN HOW TO BUILD Stuff, and put out there for people to buy. Even that is not a guarantee as I've noticed people are more stingy with their money these days. Can you blame them?

In summary, everything is toast! Especially all those online things like Amazon-[insert whatever name here] (yeah, they have a handful of services that people are supposed to earn from).

I don't want to type too long so as not to risk talking plenty without saying anything, but then, based on what you are familiar with:

1. Content creation — you'll have to think real hard and come up with some interesting niche like doing something funny, but then one day, it's more likely that the platform's (E.g., TikTok) algorithms will just throw you into the pit and give you depression.

2. Freelancing. Seriously, all the legit platforms I know of no longer pay. And I know a handful.

Advise: sorry, question: Are you willing to learning physical stuff, or must it be an online skill?

BOTTOM LINE: It's not about what you learn/know. It's about how creative you are with it—as in doing the things you currently know but in a different way.

You just spoke my mind. Online stuff aren’t as cool as it used to be. I tried freelancing and it wasn’t really as paying as I thought. I went into digital marketing but you have to be really hardworking to earn online nowadays.

The question now should be what are the new ideas and initiatives I can put into the old stuff that can warn me money or what are the new things I can put into the system that’s creative.

To shock you, even crypto and forex aren’t as cool as it’s portrayed. I’ve tried them all and I know you have to pay a good mentor to earn on those platforms. They all have their peaks but I don’t think it’s now.

Just think of something creative or new ideas and you’ll be good.
