I think Trump is deliberately trying to lower U.S. oil prices to keep inflation low, which will help secure rate cuts. Thus, the wealthy individuals are waiting for Iran to strike again, bringing their usual chaos to oil, leading to a price surge and triggering inflation in the USA, making rate cuts impossible. Consequently, all stocks will plummet. They're waiting for that strike to happen, stocks falls, they enter the market. But I doubt if Trump will permit that. Stocks here is basically US STOCKS not NGX as NGX plays another league ![]() |

Streetinvestor2:How else do we explain Profit before tax of 207 billion (over 1000% increase) turn to Profit after tax of 23 billion (just 200% increase) Out of the 207 billion profit Seplat made in q1 FG took 184 billion while Seplat took only 23 billion. |

Agbalowomeri:The are not owing the FG. They are being taxed at 85% of profit. They need FG approval to transition to the PIB where they will be taxed at 65% of profit. I don't see FG giving such approval soon. Either way, the tax is too much. |

wanaj0:I don't want you to go back into hibernation mode again sir. Your position on OandO will open you up for a serious attack. People who don't know you will start saying you are badmouthing the company so that the price can fall for you to buy OandO at cheaper price. |

wanaj0:So Oando was able to pay off $400m out of the $525m loan because the president of Afreximbank is Nigerian? The Angola oil minister/president and the Trinidad oil minister/ president are also Nigerians, right? Auditors opinions are about past financial performance. They are not the final verdict on what will happen to the company in future. Companies with negative (qualified) auditors opinions have been turned around and companies with positive (unqualified);auditors opinion have been liquidated. They don't necessarily see into future contracts or deals that the company could achieve. No auditors foresaw or predicted anything about the ENI/NAOC deal, the Afreximbank loan, Angola oil bloc or the Trinidad refinery deal or even the share redistribution deal. NOTE: I am not saying that Oando will just perform a miracle and come out of all the problems overnight. But they can do it gradually over some time. |

EDUECO:I disagree. You make it look like Iran is innocent of the accusations. Why has Iran government been sponsoring all this terrorist groups outside thr country. If they had just concentrated on thr nuclear projects without affiliations to this terror groups and not threatening this two countries I would have believed they would use it for pure economic purposes. You want them to wait till another September 11 happens abi . China will never go to physical war with America for any country unless attacked directly by America |

Mpeace:Crude oil belongs to Nigeria (unlike other businesses where there is a cost of goods), and it remains a major source of national revenue—even though Seplat does a good job of extracting and selling it. |
