Please I need idea from experienced persons here. I want to apply for my visa. I have my complete proof of funds in my account for the 28days. But I graduated in 2021. Finished NYSC in 2023. I don’t have any employment. I stated that the funds were from my family and my personal savings I create content on Facebook and earn through monetization. Which contributed a lot in my uk study process. Do I need to show any proof of source of funds? I’ve not been employed before. Like is attaching 2-3months payment proof from Facebook necessary? |

Sammy1MPound:No need for proof of source of income all you need is have required amount in your account for 28 days before your application |

Hello everyone, Please I have a question about proof of fund. I intend to start counting from 4th of June to 1st of July for the 28days but there was no transaction carried out on the 4th of June and the only transaction showing is today which is sms charge. Will there be a problem with this? The opening balance and the closing balance is the same though. |

Stevotech:Good morning everyone, my husband did his pre-CAS interview two weeks ago and was told successful and should wait for another interview from research team, we've not received any email or heard anything since then, it's making us worry. Have you done the academia interview now? |

If not for how useless this country is. Idk why we are all still trying to go to the uk with all this immigration rules that keeps popping up. It’s exhausting |

akiiin:The rules has changed. If its not nursing or any courses that guarantee sponsorship then avoid UK via education unless u want to keep going to school till 10 years Care workers visa has been removed and students can't switch to care role. Only graduate jobs of over 30k are eligible |

004gist:Exactly my point. It feels like a waste of time and money at this point |

📢 UK IMMIGRATION CHANGES – Effective from 22 July 2025 Composed by: Gbemisola Obey (FAB) Explanation for Nigerians in the UK 🇬🇧 [Based on official government release HC 997] ✅ 1. New Salary Thresholds The UK now requires higher salaries for Skilled Worker visas. These are the new rules: Most Skilled Worker roles must now pay £41,700 (was £38,700). Young workers/new entrants must earn at least £33,400. Care workers and lower-skilled jobs: at least £28,200 (was £26,100). Public Sector workers (NHS, councils): at least £31,300. 💥 If you're working for the NHS or Local Authority, you don’t have to meet these exact figures. As long as your pay follows official NHS pay bands, you’re fine. E.g., a Band 3 NHS staff earning £24,967 is still eligible. ❌ 2. Care Workers – No More Family Members (Dependants) From 22 July 2025, anyone applying as a new Care Worker (SOC 6135 or 6136): Cannot bring husband/wife or children anymore. This only affects new care visa applicants. If you're already here with your family, you’re safe. Just don’t break your visa chain. 🚨 3. Student Visa Holders Can’t Switch Into Care Students in the UK cannot switch into Care Worker roles after July 22. You can switch into other eligible roles (e.g., NHS Healthcare Assistant) if the salary and job code are allowed. 📍 Example: Chinyere is finishing MSc in Public Health and wants to become a senior carer — NO, she can't switch. But if she applies for an NHS Healthcare Assistant job, and the trust agrees to sponsor, she may be eligible. 🛡️ 4. Transitional Protection (People Already in the System) If you are already on a care visa before 22 July 2025, you can: Extend your visa Change employers (if same job code) Apply for settlement (ILR) later This protection lasts until July 2028 But you must have worked at least 3 months for the current employer. 🏥 5. Is NHS Still Safe? YES! The NHS is still the safest route. Even if you're earning less than £28,200 (e.g., £24,967 Band 3), it's OK — as long as the job is in the NHS or a Local Authority. You can still bring your family, and you'll be on track for ILR. 📝 If you apply for the same role in a private care home, they must pay you £28,200+, and you can’t bring family anymore. 🧾 6. Will Care Roles Be Phased Out? No, but they are now restricted: Only existing care visa holders can extend or switch (within same role). No more new student-to-care switching. New care applicants from outside the UK can't bring dependants. 🛠️ 7. Shortage Occupation List Is Now “Temporary” It now includes: HR Officers Electricians Welders Payroll Clerks But you still must meet the new salary rules. 📌 FAQs: Q: My NHS Band 3 job pays £25,000. Is that OK? 👉 YES. NHS pay scales apply, not the private care rule. You're safe. Q: I’m on a care visa and already brought my wife/kids. Will they be sent home? 👉 NO. Your family can stay. Just don’t break your visa chain. Q: I’m a student and want to switch to care after July. Possible? 👉 NO. That route is closed. Q: Can my employer still sponsor me for a care job? 👉 YES, only if: You already had the visa before July 22 You’ve worked there 3+ months The employer is allowed to sponsor 💡 FAB Final Advice: If you’re still delaying that NHS Application Playbook, now is the time. This is not the season to gamble. Apply for NHS jobs and council roles more. Don’t wait till your visa is expiring. This government means business. Be wise. Be strategic. And most importantly — don’t move without information. |

heykims:I intentionally posted this here. This was released yesterday. With this, the possibility of getting sponsorship after study is very very low except u study clinical courses that can get u job with NHS. I know some will say this is discouraging but it's fact... Think a million times before u japa.. |

heykims:Nah you are misleading people , After July 22 anyone that have work for the employer for 3 months can be eligible for sponsorship if the employer meet the sponsor criteria.. There is no where in the July 1st that says student can’t change there visa to care work or any other visa .. Don’t worry about any of this things ,Get into this country it’s not as hard as he explain . Welcome . |

heykims:Thank you for this. I know there are limitations to every immigrant in these top countries in the world. It's only a person living in denial won't know this. But is Nigeria a better place? In your own country, you're having to deal with alot. Please easy with the discouraging news (not to me) because you can't tell what the future holds for all. |

Kaykaychizzy:I don't think he's telling you to stay put in Nigeria neither is he telling you not to Japa. He's just telling you to "move with information" if you must. |

KingQ:I just released the update for all to see, not to engage or enter into argument. However, the 3 months window is for those already in the UK and employed before July 22. |

Good day everyone , I submitted my UK student visa application on 19th June and I got a mail on 25th June requesting for additional documents about what I have been doing since I graduated in 2020 and i replied the mail same day with documents showing evidence of my work employments letters, NYSC cert, recommendation letter from my current employer. I did not get the automated mail acknowledging receipt of the requested documents and I do not know if that is fine or what I should do next. This is the mail i was instructed t send the documents to Sheffieldstudentteam.docrequestsOOC@homeoffice.gov.uk. Thank you. |

Kaykaychizzy:There is no any bitter lesson ,there is more opportunity and chance it will work if you are inside UK..Get in and get your self a job and don’t be lazy ,Trust me everything will work out ..I have done it and I have friends that keep doing it .. I get my sponsorship immediately after school 2 years ago ..if you don’t then you can get into post study that’s 18-20 months to get a permanent job with sponsors , is it hard ? Yes. But it’s not impossible .Brace up yourself it’s not going to be easy but it’s achievable . Welcome to UK. |

KingQ:God will bless you bro. Personally, I'm not scared of challenges because I've faced a whole lot in life and the UK is a far better place than here. Some people simply refuse to understand my point about my last comment, only that I'll learn a bitter lesson from experience lol. Nobody be God and I know it won't be easy at first relocating to another country but people do it and still succeed if you have plans. Thank you once more and I'm well prepared for the UK if everything goes to plan. ✌️ |
