EDUECO:
They will surely get back their money through dividends in 14 to 20 years.

Buying premium stocks is like someone who has houses to let in Victoria Island or Ikeja in Lagos or Asokoro in Abuja.
No one disputes that quote you made about premium stocks. However, you must note that for those who want to grow their portfolio, they must be willing to take a level of calculated risk.

If person no fit afford house in Ikoyi, VictoriaIsland, etc nko. Commercial properties in Ikeja, Surulere, Somolu, Aguda, Oshodi, Ajah, Jakande, etc will also suffice in growing their cashflow and building their networth.

Wide diversification in bluechip stocks like Nestle, Zenith, GTB, etc is for people wey don balance well, chop better things. It takes time for them to double their prices except there has been a drastic depreciation which is similar to buying significantly distressed building in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, etc.

For those growing their portfolios, they should apply calculated risks to other stocks with capital appreciation growth opportunities. Similar example is when some of the stocks we see today were trading at NGN0.20kobo a few years ago.

Lastly, all these postulated suggestions are nothing good when the management becomes shitty and corrupt.

This same Nigerian Breweries PLC and even Guinness PLC that were solid bluechip dividend raking stocks giving investors significant cashflow and capital appreciation lost their mojo when some ridiculous moves were made by their Nigerian MD several years or over a decade ago. Since them, the parent companies have never trusted Nigerians to run their affairs for some time.

Na one the Ogas that snapped up stocks trading at their NGN0.20Kobo to NGN0.50Kobo zones some years ago. Stocks like Japaul PLC, Veritas Kapital Insurance, Tantalizers PLC, Universal Insurance PLC, Neimeth PLC, etc enter their captured zones well well.

If we even dig further their call on Oando PLC, NB PLC, Fidelity PLC, Nascon PLC, etc were also part of those zones not too far away.

Mix.exactly.
That's the Practical reality on ground for unstable inflation, etc.

Even the Premium companies on Ngx that grow organically and pay good dividends as well as capital appreciation still come to the market for commercial papers or bonds or issue bonus just to get capital and settle short term obligations and expansions..
How much more you a single individual with responsibilities, obligations, etc.

Heard that also, long term investments wins in returns especially compounded returns.

-But someone has to live first Oo grin.
Make returns-actualization no outlive you. grin
-not be in jail cuz of debt acfummulation cuz you refused to touch your long term holdings grin
-or Lose a loved one cuz one is targeting 10-20yrs into the future. undecided
-Or excess frugality where ones health is compromised before the returns mature and then use the returns to further treatments that could've been prevented (
e.g not eating fruits, vegetables and other vitamin supplements.
Getting assisted hands that you can afford but choose to stress ones lifecycle.

Sha, na ones capacity and streams of income determines his mixture level

As KarlTom says-->Tradvestor. grin
While a pure Investor might be the ideal way.
Unfortunately the world isn't ideal. grin
Even ideal original university scientific thesis aren't implemented 100%.
It's always better for the banks convince them to let them issue commercially papers and promissory notes on their behalf because those funds are usually not encumbered by the strict guidelines of the CBN or those obligor dragnets especially for short term transactions that needs to be funded.

Please when did it get to fifteen ? I know the following are among in no particular order:
1. Nigeria Brewery
2. Deepcap
3. Union Dicon salt
4. FTN Cocoa
5. NPF Microfinance
6. Daar Communication.
So, where are the rest 9. One thing is common with all, majority are actually penny stocks that can hit 100% gain. Imagine one accumulate these stocks and it hit 100%. It will be better to sell half and invest in other stocks, so that the gains will be working for one, Still doing due diligence on some. If it will not be a problem, list the remaining 9. One thing i have learnt so far, it doesn't really make sense to be in all stocks. Just select the market leaders in each sector and accumulate. The reward is far better than being in pieces of everything. grin grin grin

I am still trying to be patient with Access, maybe because they have already crossed the recapitalization hurdle. I nearly exchange two of my Access for one Zenith (excluding commission). But, i didn't at the time, even Zenith Bank dividend was twice Access. Now, Zenith had left it behind. If i were to convert my Access to Zenith Bank in today's closing price i will be exchanging 2.5 Access for 1 Zenith (excluding commission)
sad sad sad angry angry angry angry huh huh huh huh

Bawa. I have had personal experience with this man. I remember when he was in Port Harcourt, just before he became head of EFCC. A matter I handled in court...
If I have to judge from that experience, then I will advise you not to take that book seriously.
Also remember all the uncleared allegations made against him with respect to disposal of seized properties.
Nigeria is corrupt, with or without subsidy.
You have a good point Bro, as he was very evasive in his Arise tv prime time interview!
It's heart-breaking listening to people who had the opportunity to make Naija great but always disappoint!! cool
