If I have some spare funds I'll buy access. Hopefully they'll slow down on the acquisitions and start rewarding shareholders with bountiful dividend payments
Unsolicited 2 cents/ view of a Long termer

For the sake of all things good and future share holders fund, we would like to see more , even greater meaningful acquisition. IT would definitely pay off. The Financing capacity of most of our financial institutions is/are nothing to write home about when it comes to pulling off mega projects required to bring about growth in commerce. Hence, M&A is one way to go for the kind of growth and financing strength needed. So long the board / committee with oversight function do their due diligence and are not sleeping at the wheel, this would slowly payoff.

1. View wasn't for you dude! I have a right to express my opinion as guaranteed by the 1999 constitution... It's called freedom of expression.. talk your own make I talk my own

2 next time, say "I would like to see".. who are the "we"? Abi you get Jekyll and Hyde inside? grin or you identify as "them"?
Note that my view stems from the poor dividend payout when compared to other leading banks. If the "acquisition spree" is implemented in such a way that shareholders dividend is improved then why not ? The poor dividend payout has gone on for quite a while.. let the shareholders breathe

Their dividend payment has been embarrassingly shameful.

So shameful that they cannot even compete with Fidelity!

Very greedy board of directors and management.

I tried to sell one of the stocks I bought yesterday, the error message was "insufficient balance" which was not correct.
If the NGX allows the sale of stocks bought the previous day the following day, then the next logical thing will be to turn it to BABA IJEBU EXCHANGE!

Is that even logical?

Access bank has a better dividend yield than fidelity bank currently.

You cannot name more than 5 companies out of over 50 on the NGX with a better dividend yield than Access.

I think a lot of us are refusing to look at the numbers.

Who bought Ibadan power distribution company.
I hope it's not Transcorp. These distribution companies don't make good profit.

The Asset Management Company of Nigeria has announced that the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has been sold.

Gbenga Alake, the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of AMCON, disclosed details of the sale during a media parley with media executives on Thursday.

In April 2024, the federal government said it would sell five power distribution companies under the management of banks and AMCON.

The DisCo, managed by AMCON, is one of five listed firms. The rest are the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, and Kano Electricity Distribution Company.

Speaking at the conference, Alake said the company was sold for N100 billion.

He said AMCON will soon hand over the power firm to the preferred bidder.

“Today, I announce to you that Ibadan DisCo has been sold. When we came in, it has already been sold. It was sold for how much?” the AMCON boss said.

“We got in and said no, it cannot be. We said they should go and submit a new offer that we were not going to sell for that.

“At the end of the day, we got almost double of what Ibadan DisCos was going to be sold for.”

Alake said the sale has triggered legal battles, with “so many interests now fighting and writing”.

He said that while the matter is in court, AMCON is very positive that the right thing was done.

“We have sold it… and whatever is still happening in court, we will face it,” he said.

On May 15, report circulated that the African Initiative Against Abuse of Public Trust, a civil society organisation (CSO), has filed a lawsuit before the federal high court in Abuja against AMCON, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), and the Ibadan DisCo over an alleged proposed sale of a 60 percent stake in IBEDC for $62 million.

The CSO, in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/866/2025, described the sale as “secretive and illegal,” adding that the alleged amount is “corruptly undervalued”.

The African Initiative also claimed that the deal would lead to a loss of $107 million compared to the $169 million paid for the same stake during the 2013 privatisation of IBEDC.

Anything that gives one money or profits, or reduces one's risks is ''logical'' in the stocks market.
One can even decide to sell and make losses in some stocks in order to use the proceeds to take position in another stocks for bigger potential profits or less risks! And all can happen on the same day

Guys, please can you confirm if you're able to this morning sell volumes you purchased yesterday? I think CSCS is being high??
You should be able to sell. In my online once you purchase a stock, it is sitting in your portfolio. Then if you decide to sell even the same day, it flies. It is your commission that you are paying.

Fidelity OS is about to multiply. After their next capital raise, they should have over 70billion as OS. While Access would have about 53billion OS.

At this rate it would be difficult for fidelity to pay up to N1 in interim dividend. That's like N70billion.
And also pay a final dividend in the same financial year.
