Elon Musk adds $19 billion, surpasses Bill Gates

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has just added a staggering $19 billion to his wealth, thanks to a Tesla stock rally driven by the rollout of robotaxi vehicles in Texas. The autonomous vehicle test has propelled Musk's wealth to an incredible $385 billion, making him the world’s richest man, with more wealth than Bill Gates, who is worth $176 billion. This new surge has pushed Musk’s wealth more than twice that of Gates, highlighting just how far ahead Musk is in the billionaire ranks.

While Gates has added $17.4 billion to his fortune in 2025, Musk remains ahead by a wide margin despite a 10% drop in Tesla's stock value year-to-date. The massive leap in Musk’s net worth reveals his immense influence over Tesla’s stock price and his dominance in the tech and transportation sectors. It also underscores how Musk’s net worth is growing at an accelerated pace compared to other major billionaires.

Musk’s wealth now dwarfs the combined fortune of Bill Gates and Nike’s Phil Knight ($30.5 billion). With the new development of robotaxis, Musk is setting the stage for even more wealth generation, further solidifying his position as the most influential billionaire in the world.

Bro, this no be laughing matter oo.
i expected their share price to rice to around #3.2 from #2.7 after the H1/25 result due to the estimated revenue and net profit but with this coming dilution....Damn!!!!!!
For the past 3 quarters, it seems they have been putting their house in order....raise revenue and coming into profit despite the cashflow statement still not impressive but with this?
Damn......
I won't be surprised to see a massive full offer tomorrow with no buyer at the horrizon.

Sir, this reminds me of one gathering I attended not long ago.
A gentleman confidently declared he can pull 45% annual returns trading stocks—with a straight face, o. I calmly asked, “How consistent are those returns?”
Next thing, he went full-blown emotional, even dropped the ₦100 million hypothetical starting capital like it’s sachet water money.

I just smiled. Because honestly, this is the same delusional energy I see here on the forum daily—especially in penny stock fantasyland.
Some of you will say things like “I bought 5 million units of XYZ in 3 days”, like NGX is a crypto exchange with infinite liquidity.

Let’s be real:
Most penny stocks on the NGX can’t even absorb 1 million units at a fair price in a week without pushing the price up. Unless you’re doing cross-dealing or moving paper off-market, you’re lying—or worse, deceiving yourself.

This market has shallow depth. Liquidity is highly fragmented, and volume doesn’t always equal opportunity. Just because you see 10 million units traded doesn't mean you can enter and exit with size at the price you want.
Try dropping ₦100 million into some of these tickers, and you’ll be left holding the bag while the market trades around you with tissue-paper volume.

A lot of people here forget:
Making money in stocks is one thing—scaling it up is another beast entirely.
And until you’ve tried to get out of a large position in a thin stock without breaking your back or the price, you haven’t graduated.

So when next someone throws wild return figures around, especially with big capital, ask one thing:
“Show me the track record. And show me the liquidity.”

Because if it can't scale, it’s just another story for the boys at the beer parlour. 🍻
Same way they use small sample statements to generate statistics, outright delusional 🎬

They need maga to transfer to them and call it game. They say buy with money you can afford to lose and DD advised. I keep wondering if thr is any money earned that you don't mind losing. Have you done practical business .Or this are thing you got from reading book or thought by lecturers in class room.I disagree because I have been in business all my adult life.I mean trading and hospitality business. I can't talk about those in production. And I can tell you that you can make good profit if you learn the rope well. The evidence is all over those igbo men you see in all those markets over nigeria. I have never borrowed a dime from bank The only thing is extra goods which you pay back max 1 months so when you ask next time.It will be given to u.I have never sold any stock and moved the money out.The whole money I have in stocks ,personal belongs and real estate came from profits in the businesses over yrs.
Oga igbo guys are know are making good money in various trading. The guys into importation whr hammering before apc government started happening to businesses.
The economy right now is the only thing affecting businesses. Nigerians barely have enough left after buying food to eat
Most importers in the past make nothing less than 50% in what they imported. The building/construction/tools line they give money if you have capital. It has slowed down because of apc government.
Money dey farm business mostly the produce hoarding/selling if you know the season and whr to source them cheap .Then supply of farm produce to companies that use them for production. This range from corn, guinea corn to breweries. Soybeans, g/nuts to those which extract oil/animal feed
Then cotton to companies that remove the seeds for oil and animal feed, the wool for export

Musk is threading a dangerous path, in politics.

If you're not in political alliance with the power that be, good.
But don't declare an open war with it.
Don't be in noisy enemity with govt if you're a person of prominent wealth.

Every business in a country is regulated by govt. And there's no lacking of the bad names that can be given to a dog in order to kill it.

You see why many people make terrible investment decisions and allocate capital like they're buying gala at traffic light.
Most folks are numerically blind—they don’t understand margins, returns, inflation, or even basic depreciation. If Excel had a voice, it would scream daily in this country.

Nigerian businesses?
More than half are running on vibes and borrowed time. You’ll see turnover of ₦100M and think, “Ah! Big boy!”
Meanwhile, net profit is ₦3.2M, and that’s before they remember NEPA, diesel, and cousin’s emergency naming ceremony.
Margins are razor-thin, inflation is eating their faces, and yet assets are not being depreciated—because, well, why should a generator that cries every week lose value, abi?

Even professionals with ₦800K salary are living one haircut away from bankruptcy. Let that salary drop by 30–50%, and you’ll hear motivational speakers become real-life comedians.

People are struggling more than the Instagram filter will ever show you. But because everyone’s posting car keys, lunch dates, and Canada visa updates, others think they're falling behind—then rush to allocate capital based on peer pressure, not real data.

Until you learn to read numbers like you read gossip, you'll keep buying liabilities and calling them assets.

Stay grounded. Do the math. And for heaven’s sake, log off once in a while—Instagram is not an accounting standard
While financial literacy and data-driven decision-making are crucial, it's also important to consider the human side of investment choices. Many people prioritize emotional fulfillment, personal values, or social impact over purely financial returns.

Emotional and Social Factors
- Peer pressure and social status: People often make investment decisions based on what others think, rather than solely on financial data.
- Personal values and goals: Investments might align with individual values, such as environmental sustainability or social justice.
- Emotional connections: People might invest in businesses or assets that hold sentimental value or emotional significance.

Limitations of Financial Analysis
- Uncertainty and risk: Financial projections and analyses are based on assumptions and may not account for unexpected events or changes in market conditions.
- Intangible benefits: Some investments might provide intangible benefits, such as personal growth, networking opportunities, or community engagement, which are difficult to quantify.

The Role of Intuition and Experience
- Experience and instinct: Seasoned investors often rely on their experience and intuition to make decisions, rather than solely on financial data.
- Adaptability: Investors need to be adaptable and responsive to changing market conditions, which may require flexibility and intuition.

Balancing Financial Literacy with Human Insight
- Holistic approach: Investors should consider both financial data and human factors, such as emotional connections, personal values, and social impact.
- Contextual understanding: Understanding the context in which investment decisions are made can help investors make more informed choices.

By acknowledging the human side of financial decisions, investors can make more informed, balanced choices that align with their values, goals, and risk tolerance.

Your opinion that 9.20 is wave 5, the max wave before correction?
i know what youre thinking using the word max, you have to understand that this asset is still in a wider range so a lot will still take place, wave 3 can be 3 of 5 to make wave 1, it can alos be 3 of an extension in that case after a 4, then we have 1-2-3-4-5 again to make 1...there are so many ways it can play. But we have to focus on what we have seen, structure, subdivision, construction and intricacies. https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/55321604?key=5228b3e0f6448847ee90eeddcf3259a1

i find quite intriguing the chart of ngrconsmrgds, last week as it spiked 37% (up and down) like a bear trap...when i looked closely, it was driven by the sell offs in nnfm, dangsugar and pz mainly..all other assets in this sector are in a rally. it will be interesting to see what happerns in the coming month in this sector since that spike in the 10min timeframe is actually a five wave structure.
