Oga abeg go read the new tax law or use search machines.
Infact if you don't make profit of 10 million in you sales as profit you won't pay CGT as some operating in nigeria
The one you are talking about here is even for foreign investors if I am not wrong .
Please I am done with the tax matter

Actually, the First Bank has been beaten down unfairly low. Why should it be trading much lower than UBA and Zenith? Those banks have the same forbearance issues as First Bank. I hope the guys lifting Firt Bank's price are aiming for a high target price.

Top up makes better sense if the price is reducing and the particular stocks is becoming cheaper, so that your average cost price per unit will be less and your percentage gain will be higher.
If the price is increasing, then top up would increase your average cost price per unit and your percentage gain will be lower.
It depends on your investment objective and your confidence on the stock. Imagine one top-up on ELLAHLAKES when it was N5. You would have made 90% profit on increased units.

This is actually interesting, what if your profit is more than 10m but total proceed is less than 150m? For instance someone who bought 5m units of Ellah @3 should have made book profit of over 10m by now. If that person sells all the 5m units, decides not to pull 1naira out but rather reinvests all to buy accesshold will he/she be taxes on the over 10m gains from Ellah huh

They said 5m monthly not daily. https://tribuneonlineng.com/banks-to-report-transactions-above-n5m-monthly-under-new-tax-law-effective-2026/
No work go kill dem be that, 5m is averageof 200k daily inflow. This will encourage cash transactions. Cash out of CBN control will increase.

Averaging up and Averaging down has similar risk. It now bothers on individual risk appetite and their belive in the stock.

I think the 150m aggregate proceeds is the trigger, but 10m profit is the allowance. At the end of the year they will do your assessment and if you have made above the 10m profit, you will be taxed on the excess even if your aggregate is below 150m, but let's wait and see the implementation.

Good day great investors...

Pls I'll like to know the way around here.

I have some disposables that I can invest with, however I'll like information on how naija stocks/shares is done.

What application or software do I need to download and use on my phone, is this nigeria shares similar to forex trading charts? I have basic understanding on forex charts trading in the past.

How do I navigate selecting which stocks to buy, how do I also monitor the shares, are the shares easily liquidated in case there's need when market is down.?

I see Locotrader gave some suggestions on CI and Chams, can I go in straight to pick those shares?

Looking forward to any help and guidance on how to kickstart. Thank you.

Hmm....i hope so sha but knowing Jaga-ban the tax collector, i doubt :-). That said in practice many stock owners especially traders will easily cross that 150m annually. Moving 20m around various stocks can easily cross 150m even in a month

I want to get this off my mind…to some extent a lot of you on this forum are hypocrites.

Few weeks ago I wrote a buy recommendation for MECURE as a better BUY than FIDSON AND NEIMETH as of that time

and shared it here the same way Loco does and a vast majority of the people here shut it down and said Fidson was a better option and went and pushed the price of FIDSON up Price above MECURE, if that was to taunt me, I don’t care

Few days back i saw a lot of you are now recommending NEIMETH the books ain’t good.

So I came to the conclusion that a lot of you here are institutional traders and not retail traders like ME…

Cos a lot of the information LOCO shares are not easily available on the internet
And was already posting about EllahLakes long before the CEO did that interview… just be careful cos it looks a lot like insider trading and the ship post about C&I Leasing that also is not available to retail investors or traders like me self.

Why I’m writing all thesehuh? is because if you guys here were, welcoming maybe I would have tried more to share some of my trade ideas because when I buy a stock I don’t come here to try and promote it for it too move

Now this is my trade over the last 3 months… (PICTURE ATTACHED)

While LOCO is only promoting Champion, C&I Leasing, EllahLakes : by my calculations: LOCO has made 495% profit increase in his trade with these 3 stocks with a lot of promotion

And
ME : 531% ( picture attached my BUY prices)

I didn't include Champion cos I brought Champion long before he started promoting it here

And there are stocks I brought that gave me 15-20% ( like AIICO, Aradel and Legend internet)

So my 530% should be close to 600-700%

No Promotion just Good Trading!!

Drops Mic !!

Yes. You will still make profit but your percentage gain will be less but it is still better than not making any profit.

Common Sense Target for Cadbury N69.96-93.28
I applied a 75% penalty because of the huge Retained loss. Target probably into 2026 Q1 especially if considering N93.28
Please do your research. Purely based on the current trajectory if maintained or surpassed. Not likely to turn the corner to positive till Q2 2026. Now is the front-row seat I guess. Current price N39.25
Still a lot more upside for Cadbury, KarlTom. May be tough getting back in at a lower price unless Q2 disappoints.
