DAAR Communications Plc, the parent company of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM, has announced a post-tax deficit of N2.3 billion for the 2024 financial year.

Revealed in its 2024 financial statement, the company experienced a challenging year, with declines in key financial indicators despite a surge in revenue. Revenue increased by 16.4% to N5.3 billion, up from N4.5 billion in 2023.

However, the company reported larger losses compared to 2023, with its after-tax deficit growing from N1.6 billion in 2023 to N2.3 billion in 2024.

Loss before tax surged by 46.6%, reaching N2.3 billion, up from N1.6 billion in 2023. Gross profit declined by 9.5%, falling to N1.4 billion from N1.6 billion in 2023. Finance costs also increased by 23%, rising to N12.7 million from N10.4 million.

Again, total assets dropped by 11%, falling to N27.5 billion from N30.9 billion, while total liabilities were reduced by 13.6%, from N13.1 billion to N11.3 billion.

Television remained the largest revenue contributor, bringing in N4.6 billion, or 87.6% of the total revenue. The Radio and DNS Service segments contributed N389.3 million (7.4%) and N261.3 million (4.98%), respectively.

The company’s financial statement reveals disturbing statistics regarding its ability to remain in business. As of December 2024, DAAR Communications had accrued statutory charges, including Pension, PAYE, and VAT, totalling over N4.86 billion.

Added to this, liabilities for accrued staff salaries and terminal benefits for exited staff stood at N2.24 billion

Muhammadu Indimi is set for a $600,000 payday. The Nigerian oil billionaire, and founder of Oriental Energy Resources, will receive N916.5 million in dividends from Jaiz Bank, where he owns nearly 13.1 billion shares. That makes him the largest single shareholder in Nigeria’s pioneering Islamic bank.

Jaiz Bank recently posted strong full-year results, with profit after tax more than doubling and total assets approaching N1.1 trillion. Indimi’s stake, representing 29.36% of the bank, puts him at the heart of its continued growth.

I dedicate this off-topic discussion to AGBALOWOMERI for his wisdom in trading and insightful perspectives on women.

MEN DO NOT BENEFIT FROM MARRIAGE!!!

1. He is 72 years old.

2. He has retired from active service.

3. He worked all his life to raise his children.

4. He deprived himself of life's pleasures to pay for expensive school fees and living expenses for his children abroad.

5. They are now well-off in Europe, Australia, and America.

6. His wife, aged 62, has relocated to live with their children.

7. He remains alone back in Nigeria.

8. His children barely call him.

9. He has to start life all over again as a bachelor.

10. He struggles with high blood pressure and other ailments associated with old age.

11. How much longer will he survive alone?

12. This is the reality for most working-class monogamous men in NIGERIA: their old age is often lonely and, in many cases, sad.

13. No matter how good the man is, women tend to love their children more than their husbands. The older he gets, the less use they seem to have for him.

14. So, what do men truly benefit from marriage?

15. They sacrifice so much but receive little recognition for their hard work, while the woman seems to reap all the benefits.

It’s a man’s world they said but for the women and children in reality.

Dear men, this could be your situation in the next few decades. What are you doing about it? What is your retirement plan? Care for your self as much as you fend for your family. Love yourself. God bless you.

Nothing stops a man abandoned by a wife enjoying with the children abroad from getting a new wife.
No reasonable wife who laboured with her husband and knows the labour of her husband will abandon him in his old age for yeye cold in the name of " enjoying abroad" . Such women are simply " omo ojuorolari".
The children also should show empathy and send such a womab back to her husband. After all, it is just a matter of time.

I may be wrong but DAAR has never and was never meant to be a good stock ab initio.
The truth remains, shine your eyes when buying shares. As an investor, the promoter of a business, his political leaning and everything must be put into consideration.

You call Seplat a trap? A stock you should be thanking God for?

I bought at around 384 naira, sold at around 2k+, was feeling fly like a guru only to see it climbing up to this 5k+.

The affolabi unit of around 36k purchase amount is showing as 500k+ if I were to sell today, you can imagine what the worth of the full stock would have been if I had left it.

And from this 36k worth of shares, I got 17k dividends this year, that is around 50% ROI on the 36K worth of investment I left behind.

It is the reason I was considering enter Aradel, since they seem to be the an alternative to Seplat, but I want to be sure they are not at their peak yet.

When you get a new wife, you lose out completely on that first family. They will now completely turn against you.

Then with the second wife, the cycle of training another set of children continues. Na at 72 years you wan de attend PTA meeting?

It is a tough call, that is why you see many of them who can afford it litter Ikoyi club or playing golf up and down.

Is it still on course?
IEI cannot remain listed after the MTO is completed.

Except Norre itself gets listed by introduction and you invest in IEI thro it.

No sensible man at 72 goes out looking out for a youngie. Even if you do, you do not have what it takes.

At that age, what you seek is a diviorcee or a widower with a clearance from the two sets of children.
