With their new OS, I don't think they will be able to.pay that much going forward a 2naira dividend won't be bad at current price
It'll be lovely... Just saying their business can improve in the future and they might begin to graduate dividend sum.. they also hold shares in companies and I believe that this bull run will boost their profit. Not sure if they trade in shares or just hold though

With all the computation you did, you didn't put time value of money or use exchange rate then & now to know the true worth of the investment.

unite4real:
Boss they did o.

2008 stock splits
2010 stock split and bonuses
2011 stock split
2012 stock split
2025 you know they have started too.

From 2005 they were consistent with dividend until 2014.
They paid a cumulative total of around N25 during the period.

Let's do the maths.

Holding 10,000 units 20 years ago at N97.50 amounts to N975,000

Fast forward to today
10,000 X 3 = 30,000 bonus and split
This units multiplied by current price of N54.20 = N1,626,000

Dividend of N25 multiplied by prorated number of units during the period should not be less than N600,000

By the time the dividend amount is added we get the picture.

By the way I do not own oando and never wished to.

SonofElElyonRet:
If building wealth feels impossible, you're not alone — especially when you're just getting started. But according to late billionaire investor Charlie Munger, the key to getting rich isn't chasing millions or betting big on the next hot stock. It starts with a single, stubborn goal: get your hands on $100,000.

"I don't care what you have to do," Munger said back in the late 1990s. "If it means walking everywhere and not eating anything that wasn't purchased with a coupon, find a way to get your hands on $100,000."

He admitted that it's a brutal milestone. "The first $100,000 is a b*tch, but you gotta do it," he said.

To be clear, Munger wasn't talking about letting it sit in a checking account. He meant invested — put to work, compounding over time. Once you cross that threshold, he argued, wealth starts to build on itself. You don't need to hustle harder—you just need to be consistent, stay invested, and let the math do the heavy lifting.

And he wasn't wrong.

For someone earning an average income and managing to invest $10,000 per year, it could take close to eight years to hit that six-figure target if they're earning around 7% annually—roughly in line with long-term stock market returns. But after that, something shifts. With $100,000 invested and compounding, earning just 7% per year could turn into $200,000 in just over 10 years. Stay the course, and it could snowball to more than $1.4 million in 40 years.

That's the power Munger was talking about. Not magic. Just compound interest—amplified by time, discipline, and not losing your nerve.

It's also psychological. Many financial experts agree the $100K mark is not just the hardest financially, but mentally. It's the point where habits are formed, consistency gets tested, and lifestyle choices often have to be reconsidered. Hitting that first benchmark means cutting back, avoiding shortcuts, and often working harder for longer than feels fair. And that's exactly why Munger emphasized it.

The challenge is even steeper today. Adjusted for inflation, $100,000 in the late '90s would be closer to $190,000 today. But the principle still holds. Getting to your first six figures is a financial boot camp—one that trains you for everything that follows.

Munger didn't just toss out this advice casually. He lived it. Alongside Warren Buffett, he built one of the most successful investing empires in American history—by focusing on fundamentals, patience, and math over hype and shortcuts.

So is Munger right? Absolutely. Whether it takes five years or fifteen, getting that first $100,000 invested is still the hardest — and most important — step to building real wealth. The rest may not be easy, but it's a lot smoother once the compounding kicks in.

And as Munger said, no matter how hard it is: "You gotta do it."

For those still trying to hit that milestone, there are a few consistent patterns seen among people who make it happen. While everyone's situation is different, some tend to build toward that first $100,000 through a mix of high savings rates, side income, or long-term investing in low-fee index funds that have historically mirrored the S&P 500's average return of around 7% annually. Others explore interest-bearing accounts like CDs, which at times have offered yields between 4% and 5%, though they lack the compounding growth potential of equities over longer time horizons.

Munger himself famously said the Munger family only held about three stocks—emphasizing concentration, not chasing dozens of investments. His philosophy was less about outsmarting the market and more about sticking to what you understand and holding firm.

In the end, whether it's slow, boring, or brutally hard, the $100,000 goal isn't just about the number—it's about proving you can do hard things consistently. And once that's done, as Munger promised, it gets better.
Hmnn, nice read. But in our Nigeria's term and economy, what can 100,000USD translate to in naira?

Can we say 10 million naira? Or same 100k USD applies?

I am aware of your N3 purchase.
Sometimes one can throw in big money in averaging up than the initial purchase.

Earlier I bought only 5m units at below 4.50 and the additional 14m plus were purchased at above N5 and above N6.

I expected you to average up more volume than your initial purchase but your reply looked like Ci leasing is one of those junk stocks you have been buttressing
what are your target price, every thing has a price

Ellah Lakes might be a scam or phony company

All the pictures of ellahlakes on the internet are digital, and not real, there are no pictures or videos of or from the business operations or behind the scenes, assets or equipments, used by the company.
Using dangote Refinery as an example we have seen pictures and videos of and from the refinery.

Cutix I've seen there product in the market.

Also in 2020 Ellah Lakes had zero revenue ... the company might be a scam...

and before alot of you are quick to argue... there is the case of " Dozy Mmobuosi " (read about it) of " Tingo Foods" that faked a company like Ellah Lake and listed it on NYSE

Ellah Lake might be a phony company or scam company ....
For your mind now, you think you are smart, I don't think so, were you not alive when someone like u organise a Q&A session with the CEO? Let say u were not wise enough to come n ask the questions disturbing your mind atleast he gave the address of the farm which you can listen to online with 500 data.

You would have make a lot of sense saying you went to the farm and discovered everything said by the CEO is lie. Hence, you can establish the tinko guy relationship.

Logically, you guys are contradicting each other based on tinko comparisons.

Ellahlakes gave the complete address where the operations are taking place did tinko do that? Instead u were carried away by tinko big packaged office.

Did tinko guy grant interview that allow shareholders ask questions?

You are a joke... grin grin grin grin grin grin

It's good as he asks.
I remember one time I transfered money from my business account that bears my company name into my brokers account and want them to credit it to my personal account.
Nna eeh! Na war oooo.

Finally it was credited after 3 days of words exchange.

I didn't ask question before doing that.
Apparently your business account is as good as a "third party" account; your business is a different entity from you.

His questions are welcome. I am just stating that I answered from experience, as he demanded and not a guesswork.
