The appreciation of any stock in question is not my business. I can confidently say each day my portfolio is looking like blood money. When the bear comes we will still be here based on all that have gone up.

My concern is that a member took the pain to do some verification which I was even ready to sponsor in the past and some ogas here.
He or she came here to share the findings and you started calling the person names. It is so unacceptable to my type.
Does it mean if I had gotten the address when I wanted to go myself and came back to share pictures or videos. I would have been branded liies. Is this the kind of individuals we have here.
So in future if a member shares findings on a company we begin to call the person names.
Many ogas have shared worst things on oando.
They should prove the guy wrong or openly apologies to him.
If not the matter for that company and building go still long.
You know I be street and fighting is hubby on the streets

I added Ellahlakes to my watchlist about 60 days ago during the back and forth on it, it's gone on to make about 300% increase in share price.

As a newbie still learning about investment from the experts here I didn't buy it but seeing the massive appreciation🤔🤔🤔

The marketers and promoters of very low quality stocks are always in the habit of casting aspersions and name calling. wink

They have lost their conscience because of the allure of filthy lucre!

Newbies like myself should always invest in companies with the best intrinsic value. cool
I am weary of the crazy stock price movement we are currently experiencing.
They want to turn me into a trader but I am sticking to my investor mode.
I fear a market crash even though most company fundamentals look good.

Ikeja Hotels Plc – Regulatory Clarity at Last: SEC Directives Offer Shareholder Repositioning & Future Growth Outlook

By Gilbert Ayoola

After nearly a decade of protracted internal conflict, forensic scrutiny, and shareholder uncertainty, Ikeja Hotels Plc (IHPLC) has now reached a critical inflection point. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has formally concluded its forensic audit process into the company’s affairs and issued comprehensive directives aimed at restoring corporate governance, financial transparency, and long-term shareholder value.

This development marks the resolution of long-standing disputes between the Goodie Ibru and Alex Ibru factions key stakeholders whose internal discord had weighed down IHPLC’s performance and public confidence.

Following shareholder conflicts that made headlines in prior years, the SEC, in 2017, brokered a Settlement Agreement and commissioned Akintola Williams Deloitte to conduct a forensic audit. Their findings, supported by a secondary review by Grant Thornton, led to a series of corrective actions that were formally communicated to IHPLC on June 27, 2025.

Key Regulatory Findings & Directives

1. Asset Recovery & Financial Restatements

Goodie Ibru/AVIL is required to return the full monetary value (plus dividends and bonuses) of shares purchased using proceeds from the unauthorized sale of 1 million Union Bank Plc shares belonging to IHPLC.

A prior misstatement of IHPLC's debt to AVIL (N1.2 billion) must be restated down to N167 million, while the N1.6 billion liability to Minabo Limited remains valid.

2. Shareholder Loan & Equity Clarifications

The 260 million TCN shares transferred to AVIL/Minabo as loan repayments (N985.9 million) are upheld as legitimate, bringing clarity to previously disputed ownership.

The N12 billion shareholder loan is to be discounted by 40% and repaid accordingly—an important balance sheet restructuring move.

3. Real Estate Occupancy & Rental Obligations

Both Ibru factions and StanbicIBTC Bank must pay long-overdue rent arrears (discounted 40%) for occupancy in Federal Palace Hotel and related assets.

These payments are expected to significantly improve the cash flow position of IHPLC and its affiliates.

4. Governance Reforms

IHPLC’s board is to be restructured:

One-third of members must be Independent Non-Executive Directors (INEDs).

The Board Chair must also be an INED.

Only one family representative per Ibru group (Goodie and Alex) will be allowed on the board.

Shareholders owning 10% or more must sign a SEC-approved Shareholders Agreement (SHA) to improve transparency and decision-making.

5. Directives Specific to TCN (Tourist Company of Nigeria)

The Alex Ibru Group must buy out IHPLC’s N36 billion loan and 12% equity stake in TCN within 6 months—both at a 40% discount and under SEC oversight.

TCN may convert to a private company post-transaction, subject to minority shareholder approval.

SEC-appointed directors will remain until full compliance, ensuring no premature removal or board tampering.

Strategic Implications for Shareholders

● Investor Confidence Reinstated

This landmark intervention removes key legal and governance uncertainties, reinstating investor trust in IHPLC's trajectory.

● Balance Sheet Optimisation

The loan discount and restatement significantly lighten the company’s liabilities, opening room for operational reinvestment and potential dividend resumption.

● Governance Stability

Independent oversight and limitation on family representation on the board mark a transition from family-centric leadership to institutional-grade governance—attractive to institutional and foreign investors.

Risks and Executional Challenges

Timely compliance with asset recovery and loan repayment is crucial.

Potential legal resistance or delays from involved parties could extend uncertainty.

Market perception of TCN’s private conversion plan remains to be seen, especially among minority investors.

Reposition Outlook:

In light of these SEC directives, IHPLC now stands on firmer regulatory footing, with improved governance and cleaner financials. The resolution of legacy disputes unlocks potential for:

Capital restructuring

Improved operational performance

Rebranding or strategic partnerships

Medium-to-long-term appreciation in shareholder value

Investors especially institutional and long-term holders should view IHPLC as a turnaround candidate, while closely monitoring its implementation timeline and post-regulatory compliance strategies.

Conclusion: With the SEC drawing a regulatory line under years of dysfunction, IHPLC is no longer a cautionary tale but a corporate recovery story in motion. For discerning investors, this presents an opportunity to re-engage strategically, ahead of what could be a promising repositioning within Nigeria’s hospitality and real estate investment landscape.

My NGXGROUP has delivered 99.4% today. Started buying around 2 months ago. Now waiting for a pullback to load more. And that was my first investment in the NSE.

Been investing in North American stocks before then, which although has been successful, but none has returned 100% in 2 months for me before now. Seems like I will invest more in NSE, pull out my funds as soon as I do 50% or more, and use the loot to buy more North American stocks.

All these 'Guguru' Investors wannabes think they can gaslight me? cheesy They're always in the habit of casting aspersions on me.

If you bought Oando at 7 Naira and it got to 60 Naira and you never sold. And Oando just like APC is never consistent and never to be trusted with respect to the management and earnings;and Oando's earnings and dividends would definitely not be consistent. How will you now get cash flow since dividends is not guaranteed? cheesy

My GUINESS is AUDIO too grin

Weeks ago when I started buying NB at sub 30 and encouraged many here to buy it looked suicidal but today they say it's HISTORY... What brought about my convictions on the success of NB is the sudden price rise of GUINESS because of the FOREIGN major acquisition. I knew if GUINESS can go so high then NB will follow suit... It was just a matter of time and it DID and still doing wonderfully

CADBURY, UNILEVER won't be doing 60 and leave PZ behind...

Don't joke with PZ at sub 35...

I have mentioned PZ severally... Buy this thing up before you go start running after the bus when time reach just like some are doing on CI LEASING
