Exactly!!
ELLAHLAKES is looking promising and from the look of things, it's likely attracting foreign investors, especially since it's in Agric Sector.
Quite a lot of funds are both entering and earmarked for the sector.
All things being equal, I don't really see ELLAHLAKES slowing down anytime soon.....
The rate the shares are being grabbed is high.
I won't advice anyone to panic sell so quickly, let's see where they're taking it to.......
After all, the whole OS is 3.85Bn
* My observation/My opinion/DD advised.

My instinct is telling me that one elder here in investment (Oga Emma) has an eye on the ball (Ellahlakes)

And he's planning to hold it for 5years

Would you invest in an NNPC refinery the way they run right now?
Let them sell if they want to sell and the new owners decide what to do with the refineries.
Asset stripping before listinghuh
Anyway NNPC has several subsidiaries.. not only refineries

I agree with the bolded but CAPEX doesn’t affect profitability, only cash flow
NettyNelly:
The huge margins Cement bussinesses in Nigeria are running on will reduce when Chinese starts running it. they will first debottleneck the plants to run at full capacity, look for capacity expansion and hence more market share to sell these added capacity. These guys are very competitive.
Their coming is one of Alhaji's big worries.

First 3 years under the Chinese may not be very profitable for WAPCO. Huge upfront Capex will reduce Cashflow

How are individuals making ₦5 million a year considered wealthy? Have they accounted for rent? Food? Then they forget we don’t live in isolation like the “oyibo” — most people here support extended families, parents, siblings, and more.

I honestly wonder if the people setting these benchmarks even understand the real economy.

Anyway, in a way, this economic tightening might end up making people wiser. Hopefully, more Nigerians will start getting involved in choosing their leaders — unlike before, when many felt it wasn’t their concern.

CAPEX may influence profitability.
You need to acquire machines and equipment to produce more and sell for profits

It’s not an expense on the income statement

Me, I will predict that this Government will sell its refineries in 2026, and Oando will be a buyer.

brodalikeme:
Oando beats every sense of rational reasoning and predictions Oo. If you remember, the price started falling even before June 30.
I just pray they follow through with the share redistribution before another drama.

It would be the biggest mistake if Tinubu should sell NNPC refineries to Oando after all the controversies about the sale of the filling stations.

Ofcourse they understand but they want to widen the nest as much and possible and milk people dry

Honestly a jump from 0% to 30% tax is crazy. We are crying about just 3% transaction cost. Now I see why billionaires in the UK are doing japa. Maybe some Nigerians will relocate to Ghana soon.

This is intelligent projection... Tinubu can sell to Oando and if Oando bids they'll most likely get it.. una Oando lovers can start to take position. Not financial advice grin
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by EDUECO(m): 12:33pm On Jul 12, 2025
You started the year trading with 50 million Naira.

At the end of the year you turn your 50 million to 300 million Naira.

So,from the above ; your profit is around 250 million Naira.

30% of 250 million is 75 million Naira, then you will take 175 million.

The government will get 75 million Naira while you the monkey hunter(sorry trader) will get 175 million Naira .

I know the monkey hunters gang will not be happy with my analysis above grin

I see nothing wrong in paying 30% as capital gain tax to Nigeria; because without the Nigerian Stock Exchange, you wouldn't have been able to make such money.

Protracted court adjournments may discourage investors also affect the price negatively as it happened to Oando too.
Thank you Chairman. However WAPCO is different, we might not witness a drop in price as far as they keep bringing out good results.

Just checkout their recent result and you would be very impressed with their fundamentals.

Myself keyed in to enjoy the dividends, and the proposed buyout is Jara.

People rushed to sell off Oando because they are not expecting any dividend anytime soon.

All they have to do is conduct and open and transparent process. Remember that OBJ sold the refineries before. So there are reference prices.

You would not see the whole CAPEX cost as a direct expense but it would increase annual depreciation charge as an expense.
Generally speaking, a significant jump or increase in production-related CAPEX should lead to higher capacity to produce more, and higher profitability in mid to long term.

There is no amount of open and transparent process that would convince the Nigerian masses if Tinubu should sell a national asset like NNPC to Oando, a company owned by his nephew.
The critical importance, controversies and corruption around fuel and petroleum products and the ignorance about business and corpotrate governance in Nugeria is too much.
Oando should not even bother to put in a bid if they love themselves.

💯 CAPEX initially affects cash flow but it ultimately influences profitability — making it a matter of timing and perspective.

My NGXGROUP has delivered 99.4% today. Started buying around 2 months ago. Now waiting for a pullback to load more. And that was my first investment in the NSE.

Been investing in North American stocks before then, which although has been successful, but none has returned 100% in 2 months for me before now. Seems like I will invest more in NSE, pull out my funds as soon as I do 50% or more, and use the loot to buy more North American stocks.
Please which broker software or sticks trading software do you use?
