The best stock to buy now is still the one you already have.Even if it has done 200, 300 ,400 or 500%,it is still the best stock to hold because there is still more upside in as much as the banks are to start theirs.

Ellah without breast will not do N20 without your stock doing better.

Ci leasing will certainly do N25 -N30 so far this Bull is still fresh.

I doubt if the National Assembly under the leadership of Akpabio will do that. Do you know what it means to be rubber stamp legislature?

https://openai.com/chatgpt/overview/ Is Ellah Lakes a scam company?

Ellah Lakes Plc is a **publicly listed agribusiness** on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), founded in 1980, with a focus on oil palm, cassava, soybean, rice, maize and livestock. It’s a legitimate company with ongoing partnerships, government projects, and a public track record—not a scam. Here’s what recent reporting shows:

---

### ✅ Confirmed activities & credibility

* In **September 2022**, Ellah Lakes took over the management of the 5,000-hectare Adarice Farms in Enugu State under a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government, aiming to build a “Staple Crop Processing Zone” ([Nairametrics][1], [Nairametrics][2]).
* It also has a 2,400-hectare palm plantation acquired in 2019 and is working on additional 5,000-hectare leases in Ondo and Enugu ([Nairametrics][3]).
* The company has registered capital raises and funding rounds, including a ₦5 billion private placement in early 2024 and previous funding efforts including rights issues and partnerships .

### 📉 Financial lens

* Ellah Lakes has faced **financial challenges**, including periods of zero or minimal revenue, such as ₦780,000 in 2024 with a net loss of ₦893.9 million ([Businessday NG][4]).
* It is actively restructuring finances—converting debt to equity, issuing new shares, and leveraging government schemes .

### 🌱 Business growth & legitimacy

* The company’s strategy includes vertical integration: crop cultivation + processing, livestock (piggery), and partnerships like the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) for soybean production ([The Nation Newspaper][5]).
* Their annual general meetings are well-documented in credible Nigerian media (e.g., BusinessDay, The Guardian, Nairametrics), with executive names published and board activity openly reported ([Businessday NG][4]).

---

### 🚫 Conclusion

Ellah Lakes is a **real, regulated company** with transparency through NGX filings, strategic acquisitions, public-private MOUs, and ongoing expansion plans. While it does face typical agribusiness financial hurdles, there’s **no credible evidence** to suggest it’s a scam. Its operations and public record support its legitimacy.

---

If you’re considering **investing or partnering** with them, I recommend:

* Reviewing their **latest financial statements** on NGX or their investor relations portal.
* Monitoring **ongoing updates around project commissioning** (e.g., palm oil mill activity due in Q1–Q2 2025) ([Businessday NG][4]).
* Seeking professional advice if you’re planning significant involvement.

Let me know if you'd like help digging into their latest annual report, stock performance, or strategic plans!

Did you read this news article ... a company can couldn't repay or manage 940 million loan... is seeking 250billion

They should issue commercial paper least see if they can repay since company like Dangote, Fidson, Mecure industries are all issuing commercial paper Ellah Lakes should issue commercial paper ....
Why commercial paper? You raise CP for working capital payable less than a year.. mostly 270 days.
You need capital for many reasons and a short term capital raise is not suitable for long term repayment method.
Why go for CP when you can go for bank long term loan like 5 years?
And why go for bank long term 5 years that would be breathing down on you to payback interest with principal monthly while you can raise the same capital via equity with less pressure.
The aim and objectives of capital use determine which route you will use to raise cash.

I didn't include MECURE in the list cos it only gave me about 10% captial appreciation also didn't include AIICO in the list too cos it gave me about 10-15% captial appreciation as of the time i posted or made the list. the stocks on the list are my winners... (30-100% capital appreciation) and to be honest I already brought MECURE before I even came here to promote it..

I think we're mixing this CGT up.

Scenario A:
I have a portfolio size of ₦100m and it appreciates to ₦250m (due to SP increase & zero trading).
Scenario B:
I have a portfolio size of ₦100m and it appreciates to ₦250m (due to SP increase & aggressive trading).

IMO I think it's Scenario B that is being taxed rather than Scenario A.
I'm open to more insight

The opposition already won the General Elections (26 of 41 seats).
Ironically, Mr Stuart Young (who assumed the office of PM shortly before the GE) was the Energy Minister who approved the OandO bid.

I'm closely monitoring news from that side... grin

mikeapollo:
I am referring to the potential issues of corruption, conflict of interest etc and how Oando may never be able to convince the populace and potential foreign investors that the deal was transparent, fair and above board .
And it could be revoked by a future president.

The refinery in far away Trinidad and Tobago is even generating a similar problem because the opposition party has already threatened not to recognise the deal when they come to power i.e they may revoke the deal
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 7:24pm On Jul 12, 2025
No sir!
There's no agreement in place...yet grin
SonofElElyonRet:
If a new government revokes the agreement then they'll pay heavy damages..
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 7:31pm On Jul 12, 2025
Mikeapollo

I recall several British and German engineers who I worked with in the last few years of proper refining at WRPC and I can tell you for a fact that those refineries, in their current state, are full scale liabilities.
Over ₦20trillion has been spent on rehabilitation or/and maintenance since 2010 with little or nothing to show.

That's enough to build a Dangote Refiney with some change...smiley
mikeapollo:
Correction:
Those refineries are assets, not liabilities.
Anything that has value and would give you money when you sell is an asset
They have become "liabilities" because of our corruption, mismanagement and probably incompetence.
Those refineries would work perfectly if the original builders ( i.e. foreign engineers) should take over and run them.
