Please can one get their stocks on the bamboo app?
I have said it a billion times here, avoid Bamboo. If you want, I can post the silly explanation they gave me on how they calculate your average cost. If bamboo users on here take out time to do the maths, they will realize that they've been played.

A lot of refineries around the world are older than our refineries and they are still functioning and producing
I believe older refineries maintain and upgrade from time to time to still be in business with compatible technologies as time goes on.

the way I see our refineries now(assumptions):

NEW HOUSE(5-7yrs)
Cost of building a new house--₦20m.

EXISTING OLD HOUSE(2-3yrs)
cost of renovation of old worn out house -₦15m.
*Upgrade with 21st century Technologies -₦7m.

*=>upgrade isnt guaranteed to be a seamless integration and compatible with very old functional mechanical equipments.

hitches and glitches here and there affecting operations.
Therefore to upgrade means to get a total modern equipment overall that integrates with IT tech upgrades.

More like try upgrading an Android 4.0 device to Android 16?
It's not gonna work. OS alone with eat up the entire storage system of any phone in that era of 4.0.(if it enters at all grin)
The versioning is so wide apart.

Even whatsapp and other techs stop upgrades to older software versions from time to time. They don't keep integrating.
Meaning?==> get a new phone.
So sell-off the Refineries.

I believe the former NNPC Govt knew this. Hence the new PH refinery being built beside this rusticated one.

My goal is to have a $1 million portfolio for generational wealth for my kids, given the uncertainty and currency volatility that plagues the Naira. I strongly believe in hitting this goal by the time my firstborn turns 18. In 2023, I brought the message of the Magnificent 7 stocks to NSEMPA; I was warned about the dangers of investing in the NYSE, how it can humble investors, and how it was overhyped. I remained convinced because no one or institution can do without the Magnificent 7 stocks in countries around the world, directly or indirectly. Anyway, I remained invested during downturns, red days, the Black Monday of August 2024, and the Trump tariff war, and I also invested more. Now, my new investments in the magnificent stocks are pullback-based. The portfolio witnessed a crazy bull run following the explosion in share prices of NVIDIA, META, Apple, SPDR S&P 500, Gold ETF, MSCI China and also AVGO.
You too can do better than me.
I'm glad that the video motivates you. My resilience and support come from thousands of free PDFs and audiobooks on YouTube. Ignore the noise, the volatility, and the high EPS/P/E ratio that often drives self-investors off; also ignore impulse and panic, avoid penny stocks, and focus on book balance, cash flows, outstanding shares, cash reserves, EBITDA, gross margin, and price pullbacks. Then you begin to see true value in NYSE blue-chip companies.

Very great video. I liked the end part a lot. Definitely bookmarking it.

Also very impressive returns you have achieved over the past 2 years especially as an investor and not a trader.

However one would think it will be very difficult to get such returns in the US stock market as they tend to grow slowly and post dividends of max 7%.

How were you able to get such high returns with just stocks and index funds withina short time?

To access global indices and commodities, you'll need an international foreign broker. However, many brokers no longer onboard Nigerian investors. Fortunately, I was able to get onboarded by my broker in 2021.

This is how you peddle cheap lies because you have ties to certain platforms. Trades that are executed on NGX with trade alerts sent by CSCS how is Bamboo playing you? The average cost computation is done based on the lifetime cost of any security in your portfolio. I found it very helpful and a lot of traders have even requested for it to be brought back (I attached screenshots I just pulled from Twitter)

How do you disparage a platform on a public forum based on false information? Bamboo today is the leading stock investment app (for local & foreign stocks) for retail investors in Nigeria, if you want to sleep well at night then I’d recommend you pick them. I’ve used the app for years trading US stocks and I’ve never had an issue.

Bamboo's 1.5% brokerage commission per transaction for foreign stocks/ETFs is exorbitant in USD terms.
To succeed as an investor, COST plays a significant role.

You Want Oloyede and Adedeji to track the commission free broker? The 2 ruthless tax undertakers that want to reap where they did not sew.
LOL, no need to mention the zero transactions fee broker name – they don't onboard Nigerian investors anymore.

Exactly. I don’t think the old age is the problem. I think the fact that some of them have not been operating for decades is the problem. The longer a refinery (old or new) stays out of operation, the more difficult it is to revive it.
Refining is quite complex.

We are together at home. No index like NGX.
I'm riding the NGX wave! My NGX portfolio has outperformed my foreign portfolio by a wide margin, delivering explosive growth with the ongoing bull run and moving close to my N1 billion target.
